As I am writing this review it says that they are still open. I took a walk to get an Ice cream about 40 minutes ago and the store is closed. The sign on the windows claims that they are open until 10, but this is not true. This is the second time this month that I have attempted to get an ice cream around 9PM, only to find the store closed. Please correct the Store Hours sign in the door. You are setting expectations that you are not meeting. I will no longer take the chance, or the walk to your store expecting to buy an ice cream at night. This has happened in the past, but I was hoping that was an anomaly. I guess not.

There’s something about being able to sit down and have Ben & Jerry’s in a cone or dish instead of grabbing a pint from the supermarket. I like being able to sample a mini spoonful of a few ice cream flavors before committing to one. I am also a dish greater than cone person because my hands start melting ice cream cones at a rate faster than one can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. But how about trying frozen yogurt at this place? I recently had the Blueberry Vanilla Graham Frozen Yogurt in a dish. It was amazingly smooth, creamy, and bold tasting. Don’t get me wrong, I love their ice cream selections but this Greek frozen yogurt treat was wowza! I would stop in to try the other froyo flavors in the near future. While parking can be an issue on Lark St, it will not deter me from getting to Ben & Jerry’s when I’m craving ice cream or froyo. This is a good hang out spot to fulfill your Ben & Jerry needs with a friend or two.

Love the place, lots of great art, & of course great ice cream. However, the waffle cones are left out so they get totally soggy.
A scoop shop. Ben and Jerry’s. What’s not to like? I’m not sure what everone is talking about the Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz is a scoop shop exclusive. It use to be my favorite break-up ice cream when I was younger and I got it in pint(s) at Wegmans and cried into it in the privacy of my apartment. The scoopers are polite and efficient and tie-dye clad friendly kids. I’m not big on ice cream(outside of the break-up binge) but I had a lovely White Russian Milkshake. It. Was. Delicious. I should have ordered the large(and smuggled some booze to add to it)

It’s Ben & Jerry’s, what can you say? Great ice cream and about six tables to sit and enjoy.

Excellent location on Lark with a corner view. The shop is just big enough to accommodate a half-dozen customers with two employees behind the counter. Any more and things get a little hairy and a little ice cream turns into a 15 – 20 min ordeal. The ice cream servers are an odd lot. There’s usually one pleasant and one not-so-pleasant person behind the counter. I guess the manager knows how to team-up the right people. I like a relaxed server with an accepting patient attitude who knows how to move fast. A small smile with a brief nod or hello works better than a big cheesy Walmart greeting. Haagen Dazs is a superior ice cream but Ben and Jerry’s is a better fit for the odd and zany Lark Street crowd of college students, losers, punks, skateboarders, wannabees, newly minted professionals looking for hookups, unemployed 4 year grads with no skills or future, police cruisers passing every 5 min, bums, scammers, the unidentifiable, LGBT, annoying self-important blonde female Elite Unilocalers with over 500 friends and too many«I’m pretty aren’t I?» pictures, the good, the bad and the ugly. I endorse this Ben & Jerry’s location as a fun place to enjoy some ice cream by yourself or with a friend.

Had a really refreshing strawberry lemonade smoothie with fat free lemon sorbet. So good. I want another one already. There was hardly a wait and both of the people working were really friendly.

Believe it or not but I’d never eaten Ben & Jerry’s before until I moved to Albany a few years ago. Yes, I had previously seen the brand in grocery stores but for whatever reason I always bypassed B&J when on the hunt for my creamy crack(yes I called ice cream creamy crack.). Any how, upon moving to Albany I stumbled across the B&J on Lark Street and felt compelled to just because. I honestly did not care for much of what was offered as I found the names and descriptions of dessert to be way too colorful for my taste. After mulling over the selection, I settled for a pint of the strawberry cheese cake ice cream. And the rest is history.

Super friendly server and lots of selection. Totally nailed my ice cream craving. It was freezing cold outside and no one was likely wanting ice cream… they were open and I was happy.

I didn’t know until I went to college that people«downstate» think it’s weird that we have actual Ben & Jerry’s shops upstate. Personally, I think it’s weird that there are Haagen Daaz shops in the city. I’ll take B&J’s any day. I much prefer their flavors and their hippie-dippie origins, even if they did sell out. I also think they tend to use better ingredients — less corn syrup to be found. And even though they’ve sold the company to a conglomerate, they still do a lot of charity and environmental work so I give them kudos for that. Yes, it’s a little pricey. However, I think the products are of a higher quality than say, Stewart’s or Friendly’s ice cream(too much HFCS for my tastes.) I do prefer Stewart’s milkshakes though. I have a lot of memories of going out with my mom to celebrate with hot fudge sundaes at Ben & Jerry’s. They still cheer me up, even though it’s a very rare splurge. But trust me, they’re worth every last calorie(and penny.)
