Frankies is such a wonerful surprise in the little neighborhood shopping area. We are regulars on the bar side for happy hour and the staff is always pleasant and professional. One of our favorites is the meatballs, the sauce is phenomenal and we also love the burger with grilled onions and shoestring fries. We would recommend everything on the happy hour menu. The few times the bar side has been full we went to the regular restaurant side. It usually is not as busy. We have enjoyed lunch and dinner.

This place is great. They have world class food at very reasonable prices or if you’re a tightwad they have happy hour that is ridiculously low. I prefer the world class dishes because I definitely cannot make that at home. The chef is innovative and creative. I have eaten here 35 plus times and is my 1st choice for entertaining out of town guests.

I’ve eaten here three or more times, always at lunchtime. During the summer it can be very pleasant to sit outside, albeit the traffic noise is constant. Inside seating is idiosyncratic and I think works best for large family groups which prefer the privacy of semi-booth seating. Dining alone one is pressed to sit at small tables in the middle of the rooms, which can make one feel conspicuous. When the bar is not busy sitting in bar booths can afford good privacy. Staff courtesy varies from visit to visit but no awful confrontations and I would grade the staff better than average. I like the food and suspect the chef takes extra care sourcing the meats. Best bacon I ever had in my life, probably the best Cobb salad. Wine servings are generous. The value for dollar seems fair to me. I’ve never tried the highest-end restaurants in Albany but if I had visitors from out of state or even from Europe, Frankie’s is the one Albany restaurant I would feel confident taking them to.

Ate here for the 2nd time in the bar during HH. It’s a great deal but the food is so-so. My plan for next time is to get a couple HH drinks then see if the restaurant menu is higher quality like everyone writes.

Frankie’s is my ideal neighborhood restaurant: multi-function, casual-classy, consistent quality of food for a good value, and with a great bar to boot. Everyone flocks to Happy Hour at Frankie’s, and they are missing out, because that’s only a small taste of what this kitchen can do. At least once, please skip crowded Happy Hour in the bar and opt for a more enjoyable multi-course dining experience. I’ve come here enough times to have sampled across the menu, and have yet to be disappointed. Comfort food appetizer standouts are clams, meatballs, fried brussel sprouts, creamy soups, adult mac n’ cheese, and risotto. On the lighter side the beet salad and smoked trout and rocket salads were both delicious. Vegetarian and vegan entrees are complex and filling enough for meat-eaters. Burgers and steak are damn good, and I was pleased to order a rare steak and actually get a rare steak! Wine list and draught beer and cider selections always please, but if you like cocktails, be sure to try a «signature sip». My favorite so far is the pineapple jalapeño margarita made with house infused tequilla. Overall the service has been really good here and MUCH better than most of the restaurants I’ve been to in the Albany/Corvallis area. Jess stands out in my memory for excellent service on my first ever visit. Like any popular restaurant, sometimes it’s crowded and service slows down. The secret is out — not surprising. Plan accordingly.

My family and I have visited this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed! Our favorite time to visit is during happy hour. They have many appetizers at a reduced price,(A large burger and mountain of shoestring French fries for $ 6!) and their drinks are great. I especially like the clams and the nachos that they offer. Will continue visiting!

This place is awesome. Our table ordered filet mignon, Salmon, Swordfish, and Duck. All was excellent and cooked to perfection. The waitress was Mary and she knew the menu very well and suggested the best ideas for our dining experience. We will be back to Frankies for sure. Loved the ambience as well. Lighting wasn’t jacked like most restaurants around here. :)

Their happy hour is top notch! Great prices. The food I have had isn’t super amazing. BUT for like $ 3.50 for a skillet of mac n’ cheese it was good. I think their regular menu is a tad pricey, but the place is in North Albany and they use local ingredients– you’re at a bourgey place expect to pay for it. I don’t personally eat meat so I cannot attest to their amazing-ness but their pork belly fries seem to be the most talked about thing from everyone I know.

What a great find! We had our Thanksgiving dinner here today and all of us(21 year old son and my 86 year old mother, plus my husband and I) were very pleased. The service was great, the food excellent and the overall experience was more than we expected. The Thanksgiving menu offered turkey or Carlton Farms porchetta roast,(both excellent) and the side dishes were updates on classic favorites. They even offered seconds, which we declined because we were stuffed! The pumpkin cake was heavenly. Albany needs a good dining option and I’m glad we found Frankie’s. Even though we live out of town, we’ll come back when we’re in the area to visit relatives. Thanks for a great Thanksgiving repast.

TERRIBLESTAFF!!! I really wanted to like this place. They have a good selection of food(just don’t eat the seafood) and it’s a nice restaurant. On several occasions the staff has been unaccommodating and down right rude. My most recent trip there they had the dining room closed which was fine. After we were seated they opened up the back door and started moving furniture into the restaurant and my family was freezing. I asked if we could simply move to a table that wasn’t in the way of the draft, like in the dining room. The one waiter was extremely rude and basically said no. Not only that, they were taking forever with the food even though the restaurant was no where near full. Despite the dining room being closed, there were people eating in there. They just wouldn’t seat us in there, so we took our food to go and left. On another occasion my husband’s work group went there. It was over 100 degrees out and they(same staff member) refused to seat them inside because they were a large group. It was hot, uncomfortable, and his work group won’t be coming back. Lastly, about the seafood. I’ve gotten raw shrimp once and I got pretty sick from their clams. Yeah… we won’t be back.

Been here five times. Really about a 3.53 is A-OK and I mean that. It is pretty good. I just am not raving about it. There are hits and misses on the menu. Meat balls are the best. The other night 11÷3÷15, they missed on a pork chop over mashed potatoes. The pork chop was extremely bland. However, we had a chef salad that was an excellent take on a common dish. Good quality cheese, mixed greens, ham, tomatoes and shredded egg. Yum. Wide selection of dishes to be had.

Last two times we went, the food was good as usual, but service sucked. Food was very slow one of the times, we waited 45 minutes for our food, except for one of our friends, he got his meal 3 minutes after we ordered. We were very nice about it, but because the table next to us, that also got their food late, were bitches about it they got an apology from manager and food paid for. Why should I have to be mean to be treated well? The other time the service was rude. If this keeps happening we’ll need to find someplace else

We came here on a Friday night for dinner and the food was very good. We had the shoestring fries with pork belly and blue cheese for an appetizer and the plate was HUGE!!! It could easily feed 4 people for an appetizer and was delicious. For dinner we had the short ribs and pork loin which were also delicious ! However the service time was very inconsistent. We got our appetizer in 5 minutes and it took almost 45 minutes after that to get our main course. The table next to us ordered shortly before us and got their main course within 15 minutes. However food here is very good and a great spot for a date night. Definitely one of the better restaurants in the Corvallis/Albany area. We will be back again.

I love Frankie’s! Their Happy Hour is such a value! Don’t love when we have to line up and wait while there are tables available, but get that the discounting needs to be limited to a certain number of seats. I loved their brunch Huevos Rancheros but it has recently changed and isn’t as consistent as it used to be. Not sure what happened. They have a LOT of employees, almost tripping over each other, we sometimes wonderi who is actually watching the store. Last time we were there the server who opened the wine butchered the foil, opened the bottle, and then just stuffed the cork back in and left it on the table for us to figure out! All sounds like a complaint but all the reason for four stars instead of five. Inconsistency and goofiness with service. Plastic water«glasses» and their regular prices up there with the better restaurants in town. Really great fried oysters. The food is generally very tasty. Cocktails solid. Anyway, just glad to have a known-open place in Albany — have to drive through area — such a neat old town — but dead on Sundays, but Frankie’s is open until 8:00 which is great.

A small group of us out for an early dinner and happy hour :-) the bar was full so we opted for the patio. **warning avoid the tables by the flowers… bees everywhere** Friendly service but incredibly slow on the delivery… if your gonna deliver food slow, please keep the drinks full! We had the tots and pops munch while waiting for our entrees… good but just tater tots and jalapeño poppers with some green stuff drizzled. For entrees, The Rick shrimp pasta — good The $ 29 steak cooked perfectly, great flavor(sides of truffle fries — salty, very salty, and mashed potatoes — good) The spaghetti and meatballs… undercooked meatballs the first try, but then done right and tasted good. To round out the table I chose the coconut milk red curry stew… delicious! Great spice and wonderful flavor. If it were up to me, I’d serve a bread option with the pasta and some Naan or similar with the curry… the three of us all felt like we were missing out on something. Lastly, slow service aside, get the bees under control.

I eat here because Frankie’s rarely disappoints. Good food, good service and they know where they source their meat. I appreciate that, because I feel like when an establishment cares enough to purchase quality meat, then they must also care about so much more. The price is a bit high, but quality sometimes costs a bit more. My only complaint was on my visit today. I willingly paid $ 15 for a classic clubhouse sandwich and an ice tea. To my surprise there was no Tillamook cheese on it, there was in fact American cheese… the kind you pull from a plastic sheath. Yuck! I just felt this wasn’t in line with the high quality I’m use to. I can forgive. That is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. I will obviously be eating there again. Overall this place is a very nice place.

Opened entrance door and vented burnt kitchen smoke directly to us. Obviously something in the kitchen caught fire, assuming grease by the smoke that was generated and food quality. We then waited longer then we should have to be seated. There were plenty of large tables to choose from, but we were sat in a corner half booth behind a large party. This booth was to small for our group and when I asked to move she brought a chair for us. One of us sat in the chair and still were a place setting short, I asked again. This time she brings another chair! Strike two! We should of left after not receiving professionalism from the entrance. As my daughters and I made the best of it, we were forced to hear unacceptable language and inappropriate conversation amongst the large party next to use. I don’t mind bar talk in a bar, however we did not sit in the bar area. To make things worse we were being over looked as a family. We did not enjoy watching the staff be more hospitable to a larger group of people who should of been cut off from alcohol long before we arrived.(I understand, more profitable) Okay now the food… I frequent frankies and we know what we should be getting when we order! The Royale was a pure grease invested sponge! I have never received a Royale of such disgust! The other food served all had a greasing over it like sprayed oil and fat. I don’t want to go there but my girls and I got sick from the grease infused meal, my youngest daughter refused to eat her dinner, just due to smell and looks. She was right! Her and her sister who ordered pasta, were the only two that did not venture thru the bodily turmoil that was caused by this gross greasy dinner. My oldest daughter not wanting to waste her greasy dinner, brought it home. Her meat was not cooked fully and we noticed pink tough circles in the patty. Some quality! Tried to bring this all to the managers attention the next day. She was very rude and acted like, she was not concerned and had no feedback besides unheartfelt«Sorry». …The image and newness of Frankies passion when they opened is gone, and so am I. Hope you don’t become another failing restaurant in Albany. I LIKEFRANKIESAND hate writing a bad review. Please bring better quality control back!!!

I liked the ambiance of Frankie’s even though it was in a strip mall. With the description of the food, the reviews, and the prices we decided to take a group of our friends out. The service was fine. I have no complaints. We had a party of five adults and two young adults. All of our drinks and food arrived on time. I desired to support this establishment because they serve Carlton Farms pork, and Painted Hills Farm beef. I have worked with these to local meat distributors before. They are noted for their exceptional quality, humane practices, and family business foundation. I am privy to just how much more these products cost due to the quality. I had no problem with my check at the end of the meal, I felt good about paying the high cost. We tried the PORKBELLYFRIES — Carlton Farms pork belly + blue cheese + truffle oil + shoestring french fries. The belly was a little too charred, and the fries were too salty but the flavor combinations were spot on. I loved that the truffle oil was used sparingly, but with the pork belly and blue cheese, the fries needed very little salt. WILLAPABAYOYSTERS* — 6 pan fried oysters + lemon garlic aioli. I did not like these unfortunately. The oysters tasted okay, but the breading was so heavy that it ruined the briny flavor and freshness of the oysters themselves. ROYALBURGER* — aged Tillamook white cheddar + tomato confit + crispy pork belly + pickled red onion + lettuce. This was a great burger. It was cooked to order, the bright flavor of the pickled onion helped cut the richness of the beef, pork belly and cheese. The bun was perfect and buttery, but still steady enough to stand up to such a rich burger. CARLTONFARMSPORKLOIN«CHOP» * — stuffed with goat cheese and sage + wrapped in bacon + pork belly hash + broccolini + maple & fig reduction. What a star this dish was. The pork was only slightly overcooked. Often restaurants have to error on the side of caution with pork. Stuffing pork can be easily overcooked, and it was, but only as a safety precaution. I would have loved to taste this from the chef himself, cooked properly without the loom of a lawsuit for under-cooked pork. The flavor of the dish, and the components were spot on. STEAKFRITES* — 8 oz Painted Hills flank steak + fries + truffle butter + mixed greens & balsamic. Perfect dish. The steak was cooked flawlessly. The truffle butter was not overpowering, it was just a hint of earthy essence, almost undetectable, as it should be. I will go back whenever in town. It was a good choice. I hope that they really evaluate the saltiness of the dishes in combination with pork belly, but all in all, great food. I have read that the menu does change, so I have copied straight from the present menu what we tried. For a fine dinning/gastropub, they get four stars with a little room for improvement.

I came into Frankie’s on a Thursday night because I was in Albany to run errands. The restaurant was about half way packed with clients. We were seated right away by our server. We ordered 2 burgers and an order of pasta. All of our orders came out within about 10 minutes and it was very fresh and hot. The burgers were at very good portions and came with a side of shoestring fries, a pickle and a serving of mayo. The fries were very crispy and hot, and I was impressed because I’m usually not a fan of shoestring cut fries. The pasta was served al dente, which my friend enjoyed. I got to try a bit and I can’t complain about the pesto sauce. It was savory and rich and I think I’ll be ordering it the next time! Overall, we had great service. Our waters were always refilled before we were able to finish and our server was prompt and very sweet to us.
