Lemondrop Frozen Yogurt

Very poor management skills. Upon cashing out I went to pay with a credit card. Their credit card reader ended up not working due to a system failure. I didn’t have cash. The lady at the register told me she could write down my credit card number and run it later. We sat down to eat our frozen yogurt. While we were eating she called her manager to let her know the system was down. The manager had the employee go back over to us and over speaker phone, the manager told me very rudely that I had to go to an atm and get cash to pay the $ 8 that I owed. I informed her I wasn’t going to pay an atm fee for only $ 8 when it’s their error that they couldn’t accept credit cards. I would have no problem with them running the card later. She insisted that I need to leave, go out of my way, and then come back to pay with cash. There was no sign on the door or register saying they couldn’t take credit. I left my order on the table and left. As a business owner myself, the correct thing would have been to give the one order away and then hang a visible sign up saying they couldn’t currently take credit. Not stress out the client to a point where they have to leave. (And never return)

Great bubble tea and cute atmosphere! I haven’t tried their froyo or food yet, but I keep going back for bubble tea there because it is just so good. They have several flavors of bubble tea with options for milk or no milk. They also have an option of tapioca or boba. If you get boba, they have a few flavors to choose from: strawberry, kiwi, passionfruit, and mango. If you’re going to try bubble tea, my personal favorite is rose with no milk. It is so pretty, pink, sweet and just all around delicious! There are even little pieces of rose petals in it-​it makes me feel like a fairy queen when I drink it! :)

Excellent flavors and price is much lower than expected. Establishment also offers luck it’s ans bubble t3a, it was a great find. Blows menchies out of the water. all exotic flavors and lots and lots of toppings.

Best bubble tea in the Albany area. The owner is very friendly. Recommend to my friends too!

we stopped by the other day, the owner was very friendly and helpful, gave us samples… mmmm so delicious great yogurt awesome toppings fresh fruits. a real pleasure, sat outside watching wolf roadies scream by as we enjoyed wonderfully cold multiple flavors slowly.

3 stars for a neutral review. Decent froyo shop with many toppings that sells by weight. They offer a coupon card which is buy 8 get 1 free and a buy 1 get 1 flyer which expires within the month. Prices are normal.
They also serve noodle and rice bowl meals which kinda seems out of place inside a froyo shop.

All I can say it wow! This place has better Froyo than sweet frog and menchi’s. I had the strawberry pineapple and it was delicious. The staff is very friendly and the owner gave me a ton of coupons lol. I will certainly be back :)

Love this place. Their bubble tea is the best in Albany

I stopped by on a hot Albany day craving some citrusy icy sorbet and this is the place for it. Pomegranate and tangerine sorbet in a waffle cone is the bomb diggidy. Must do a pit stop when passing through, excellent and refreshing!

I’ve been looking for an awesome boba place that’s anywhere comparable to the ones in California and based on the Unilocal reviews I decided to try this out.
My husband got a mixture of 4 different froyo flavors that were pretty decent but a bit pricey. That’s no surprise since there are so many more in California that the competition is tough so prices are lower. Here they go for $ 0.50/oz which is kinda pricey if you get the large cup.
I got the Thai tea with boba and I really want to like this place but it was just watered down and didn’t have a strong enough tea flavor. The boba was nice and chewy so that was good.
The owner was super nice.
I will give this place another chance since they did give out a coupon for a bogo on drinks and froyo so fingers cross round 2 will be a success!

I like it tart.
So this relatively new wave of FroYo places with their self service machines and topping bars is great for me. Mostly because this whole trend started around the base of a plain tart yogurt.
But not all tarts are created equal. Lemondrop puts its tartness front and center in its name. Lemons are puckery fruits, and their tart yogurt is the snappiest that I have found. Sure, that make it too sour for some, but it’s right up my alley.
For those who aren’t fans, I’ve just been turned on to their boba milk tea (thanks to Nita C. who led a group of Unilocalers there on a recent outing). For that, I like to stick to the classics and got a black tea with milk and tapioca pearls. The key is to order it HALF SWEET.
Even half sweet the drink was plenty sweet. But the malty tannic nature of the black tea was still able to shine through. That’s what I’ve learned to love about boba milk tea.
The boba themselves were just okay. I’d prefer them a bit plumper, but I’m really lacking good language to describe tapioca pearls well. In my life, I’ve tried fewer than five boba teas, and really this is only the second one I’ve enjoyed.
One of these days I’ll make it back to try their savories, and maybe try my luck at some of the other flavors of boba tea.

I only had a drink when I came here. I ordered a black milk tea with boba. The cup they give you is large and in charge! My drink was on the sweeter side, so I would ask for half sweet next time. My home town had a vast selection of boba/​tea drink shops, so this place would probably rank a bit lower than average (TapEx, for you connoisseurs). However, the drinks are the best I’ve had in the area so far. Also, the texture of the tapioca was on point.
I like the service here (the woman who took my order brought my drink out to my table!), and the inside of the store is kept clean and decorated very bright.
The yogurt and toppings looked pretty tasty, so I would like to pay another visit in the future to check those out.

Lemondrop is a quaint and authentic-​looking Froyo place with pearl milk tea and lunch options. Normally, I am not a froyo-​goier, but having seen there was pmt there, we decided to try this out. The service was great (the owner is a Taiwanese woman who was extremely friendly), and she made customized drinks for us once she realized I could speak Taiwanese Mandarin. We wanted to try their lunch menu (it comes with a free drink), but she said that was only available until early afternoon. There were little mochi’s and macaroons available on the side as well. All in all, a great place to hang out and have pretty authentic pmt.
It would have been great if there were crispy chicken!

Awesome for what it is. Frozen yogurt with a wide variety of candy to top it with. Pay by the ounce shook get as little or as much a you want. Wide variety of toppings. Clean. Good for groups

Came here after first going to Menchies and finding that they were out of almost half of their flavors.
Good flavor selection, great topping selection. Very clean and friendly. And they even accepted my Menchies coupon!

A lot of flavors to choose from. Great tastes, and very clean. Lots of toppings to choose from as well. They have a punch card (buy 8 get 1 free) but you have to spend at least $ 5 to get a «punch.»

Really good frozen yogurt! I stopped in yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of yogurts and toppings. The shop itself is very clean and spacious. The prices are standard for this type of a help-​yourself froyo joint and the employees were helpful. Only 4 stars because there was nothing extraordinary about this place, but it was very good and I’m looking forward to going back.

I was a little late to try Lemondrop but I’m sure glad I stopped in. When you first walk in, you’ll notice the super modern décor (similar to Pinkberry’s) but with colorful yellow and green chairs! They’re just so cute!
I also noticed that Lemondrop has the most interesting and unique flavors than any other froze yogurt place I’ve been to. They are also the only ones I’ve seen that made the middle handle between 2 flavors a combination of the flavors. Genius! I am completely in love with the lemon & coconut combination. They also have a lot of tart flavors as well as interesting sweet ones (ahem, salted caramel pretzel AND it’s low fat… what?!)
I only knocked down one star because some of the fruit didn’t look fresh so I avoided adding them to my cup. The pomegranate seeds, strawberries and blueberries all looked fresh and yummy, but the mango looked a little too ripe and covered in a syrup. But really, that’s a small offense and more like a –0.5 stars. And it’s only 49 cents per oz, who am I to complain?

Lemondrop is also a great place for bubble tea, for both hot and iced. And don’t forget to ask for a point card ;)

Lemondrop offers self-​serve frozen yogurt in flavors like Luscious Lemon, Cake Batter, Tahitian Vanilla, Pomegranite Blueberry Sorbet, Euro Tart, Cookies ‘n Cream, and Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel (just to name a few). There are small and large cups which should really be called «quite large» and «ginormous» which at .49 cents per ounce lulls you into thinking you’re being good by half-​filling your dish.. . until you get to the register.
This was my second visit and I’m a fan. There is an attendent to offer samples of any flavors you’d like to try and the toppings bar has a wide variety of items. Offerings include the typical toppings like Butterfinger crumbles and chocolate chips, fruity options like sliced strawberries and mango jelly (or was that mango Jello?), and oddballs (like Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch) that you might use at home to spice up the plain ice cream you found hiding in the back of your freezer.
Lemondrop’s employees are always cleaning, filling, etc which is nice to see.
Tip: There is additional parking behind the strip of shops and a back entrance to Lemondrop — great on busy weekend nights. Also the back parking lot connects to the road surrounding Colonie Center, so you can go out the back and use the light to get back onto Wolf Road.
