These guys are terrific. Matt has talent, taste, years of experience in the design trade, and access to a seemingly infinite cache of beautiful fabrics. I think because he doesn’t have a fancy showroom (or didn’t really when I worked with him), and didn’t appear to be much interested in puttin on the dog for those who weren’t already «in the know» about him, his prices are totally reasonable.
He beat the price of another little place i was consulting, and did such a beautiful job that my sofa (a well constructed, but not very sexy piece) looked like a magazine prop when he finished with it. It’s currently the only thing in my house that makes people think I might secretly have either taste, or money (they’re not sure which).

I found this business on Unilocal and they were fast, efficient and did amazing work. This was a small job that required some new foam on a stool for my boss, but they were simply amazing and now I have some extra brownie points with my employer.

Best custom upholsterer in the SF Bay Area, hands-​down. He has pure talent that you can’t find just anywhere.

Matt has done work for several of my clients and they all rave about him. He has covered sofas, chaises, and ottomans for them. He even builds custom furniture and does a beautiful job. I don’t have traditional taste, and was a little worried that my furniture might look cheesy when complete. I bought two Louis chairs and wanted them covered in a faux patent leather… sort of a Jonathan Adler look. Matt helped me select a leather sample that looked more chic than tacky (there IS a fine line when you are dealing with patent leather) and my chairs look amazing! I love them. Later, he worked on a built in bench in our entry hall, and again, it is perfect.
Matt «gets» all styles of furniture and can help you get the look that you desire. He has reasonable prices, not cheap, but also not the most expensive. His work is outstanding and holds up well.

Matt upholstered our couch cushions and ottoman and did a fantastic job at almost half the price of other quotes I’d gotten. He has a lot of fabric options and was very nice. It looks like he’s quite busy but finished my cushions in a short amount of time, it was a great experience and I’d definitely go to him again.
