Great place to see a performance

Well since it was my first time «going out» in Albany, I think I should say that it’s decent little venue in a funky neighborhood. A part of Albany’s very good WAMC public radio. I would love to see more stuff at this place in the future.

Nice intimate venue —but totally inappropriate for certain types of acts.
For example: I saw The Felice Brothers here last year and the crowd sat politely on their hands during what was a raucous, foot stomping set. When I saw them recently at Valentines they were more in their element amidst the standing/​dancing/​head bopping/​alcohol fueled crowd. I guess I should just be happy that at my age I’d rather stand in front of the stage than be confined to my seat with a bunch of old farts.
Anyhow, The Linda would be a fine place to watch a more laid back act. It’s also worth noting that we tailgated in the parking lot before the show —much to the amazement of the locals shortcutting to Central Avenue.

This is a great small venue, although the acoustics could be better. Shows are usually well-​priced, and I’ve never had a problem with finding parking. It’s also close to restaurants for pre-​show dining _​including some of my personal favorites — Van’s and Saso’s _​which is always a plus.
