If only I had the good sense to utilize brevity when I wrote reviews. I’d write precisely what Erin M said, not a single word more: «Great service that is fast and cheap!» Bingo. That’s Ambitions for ya. But oh no, I have to go on and on. I second her promotion, and give you permission to stop reading now so you can get yer hiney to this great print shop. Since you’ve decided to waste your time reading the rest of my review, I’ll now proceed in taking away precious time you’ll never get back from me. Ah, delicious time, why, it’s almost as valuable as the service Ambitions provided. Essentially, I had a big print order for a local event. I needed posters, 11×17, semi-glossy, to shine all over our happy city. I did my research, calling/contacting four separate businesses, and Ambitions said they could do the job at precisely half the cost of the closest major competitor. They could do this, they claimed, because they used printers rather than an actual press. While I was suspicious, I was and will ultimately always be thrifty, so I paid them a visit. The office is on the second floor of a vacuous building in the middle of downtown, which explains why they generally specialize in legal documents. The space itself hardly looks like a business; aside from one cash register, it’s just a place where people hang out working and printing. They do have a curious selection of snacks, drinks and rather generic greeting cards. Otherwise, it’s just another office space. But oh, the final product, it was so worth the cost. They printed a sample for my approval, then went to it, and less than five minutes later I had my entire order.(Planners note: email these guys a PDF of your image and by the time you’re at the office it’ll be ready.) The prints were gorgeous; when I plastered them all over Nob Hill that afternoon, several business owners commented on the quality and asked for the business reference. As a person who often needs a print order and loves to shop local, these guys absolutely rock. All of that said, I have to hold a star off the rating because there will be people expecting press-quality work, and Ambitions(openly states) they can’t provide this. For my needs, this company is my new BFF.
