Lets see fast internet, tons of people to ask for their opinion, creative space, open space, great environment, fantastic location and all around a great place to work. Now, you could call me bias because i work here — however i feel that should give me a great reason as why you should heed my review even more! There is two stories and both are great. It’s fantastic for meetings, parties, working, networking, presenting, organizing and all around functioning! I know thats broad but thats because this place is really fantastic. It’s great for creative minds, new businesses, startups, events for a fun vibe and heck you can join us on Fridays for a game of mario kart!

Highly recommend checking this place out if you own/manage a small tech business. Great office space, great community and tons of resources. I can’t decide if my favorite part of FatPipe is the wall of whiteboards or ridiculously fast internet connection.

Great Co working space. Lots of smart and insightful people to chat with. I’ve made quite a few good connections and brainstormed a few business ideas of mine and others. We all benefit from these collisions of ideas from different fields and often see new opportunities sprout from the creative dust. Make a point of being here Wednesdays at 9 am for one million cups to hear and support start ups of all.kinds. This is among the best networking events in the city and a good place to get your finger on the pulse of the entrepeneur ecosystem. If you’re traveling about for work. and tire of the coffee shop scene, drop in and find a spot to set up for a while. Try a table, desk or beanbag. Lisa is the best and will fill you in on any details not on the website. Streets and sidewalks are new and parking on Broadway is free all day(and night if you choose) if you find an opening. But bring your lunch or be ready to walk a block or two with your wallet for local fare.

No, this is not another Albuquerque smoke shop. When I was a little kid, had I been told I’d someday work at a place commonly called an incubator or accelerator, my imagination would’ve had me hatching from an alien pod or helming the reigns of a starship. Of course, that was back when the general populace honestly expected that the future, like circa 2000, would include flying cars or at the very least, jet packs. It’s 2015 and let’s face it, we got nothin’. I have an Andriod, it’s a PHONE, it doesn’t cook me meals and brush my friggin’ teeth. The closest we got to a hologram is video conferencing, screw that noise. Virtual reality? About as real as reality TV. Funny, then, that the very people who desperately want the future to exist now inhabit co-working spaces, because modern corporate America generally operates on the same antiquated set of rules and the entrepreneurs, those that dare to seek and invent and explore and innovate are on the fringes, quietly developing technologies that will radically transform modern life, and provide each and every one of us with our very own jet pack*. This is where FatPipe comes in. It’s not only a shared office space, it’s a non-futuristic incubator, a place where a bunch of people do what they’ve communally done since the Stone Age, they get together and think and work and scheme the reinvention of the wheel. There ain’t no lasers in FatPipe, but there’s a damn fine wifi stream, 300MB thick. The space is gorgeous, inhabiting the old library of Albuquerque High School, which has been converted to lofts. Members are allowed 24-hour secured access to a place to compute, dream, conference, pitch and network. The community is awash with talent and smarts, on display every Wednesday morning when One Million Cups presents two startup organizations/companies that are, well, incubating as we speak. If you need an office, and you like the idea of being surrounded by people who inspire all of us to dream bigger, you need to check out FatPipe. And just in case you were wondering, yes, there are beanbags. *Author assumes no liability for claims made during the composition of this review that may or may not come true, ever.

As part of my tour of coworking spaces during Tech Fiesta, I headed to Fat Pipe today. It turned out that every Wednesday they host One Million Cups, which is a speaker series that allows local entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to a room full of peers and potential investors( ). Pretty sweet! The space itself is grandiose. On the first floor of the renovated Albuquerque High lofts downtown, the large windows and ample sunlight made me feel like I was in Belle’s library in Beauty & the Beast! They have a fully stocked kitchen and tons of desk spaces with outlets. It’s kind of set up like a university library space. There are also little cubbies for one-on-one meetings as well as whiteboards and individual file storage. It’s very open, and I imagine it gets pretty noisy if there are lots of people. Today, because they were hosting the One Million Cups event, it was bustling! There were lots of Tech Fiesta people just hanging around too. I bet on your average day it’s a more conducive work environment. Outside, there is lots of free street parking all around the perimeter of the building. On Broadway I believe it’s 2 hours only.
