Mmmm. So yummy. I love their nachos, and you get so much for a really low price. Their chips and salsa are super good, too. I really like this place.

I think that the portion sizes are good and quality is great. The salsa is unlike anywhere else. It’s red and pretty hot, not a bad hot. It also has a subtle sweetness. Not for those who enjoy mild or medium chile. Overall great experience and atmosphere!

I’ve now eaten at this place twice — this review confirms my first quite some time ago — excellent place.

We have been going to Los Cuates since it was a tiny place on Lomas and that must be at least 25 years ago. They were purchased a few years ago and last week we went for the first time in a long time. I had the skillet with enchiladas and eggs on the top. First thing were the eggs; I ordered over medium and they were like shoe leather, so tough I could not cut them with my fork. For the first time in a long time, I complained, slid them off from under the chili and called the waiter and told him about it. He was very nice and went to the kitchen and brought me two over medium eggs, cooked perfectly. However, when I tried the chili, it tasted like tomato juice, not a hint of chili in it. When I make red chili, I certainly do not put any sort of tomatoes in it but I imagine it’s cheaper than using all chili. At any rate it was horrible and inedible so I left. We won’t be going back there for a long, long time.

Came home after 3 months away and found myself craving authentic New Mexican food — Los Cuates immediately came to mind! The food is always delicious and the service is lovely! We come here fairly regularly. If you’re looking for great New Mexico food, stop by!

I used to love this place back in the day when they used to use real chile not chile sauce like they do now… Don’t know what happened it’s not what it used to be :(

We used to enjoy Los Cuates– the food was consistently good and the service was fast. It has noticeably gone down hill as of late. The prices went way up– much higher than other New Mexican restaurants with similar food. The portions are smaller. Even the take-out hasn’t been great quality with more order mistakes. The fajitas are still delicious, however, though the portion is smaller. My advice? Hit up one of the many other delicious, local New Mexican restaurants in the area!

I have been to 2 different locations and both instances I ordered the Indian Taco. It’s DELICIOUS! The servers at both locations were prompt and friendly. Even during a lunch rush, we didn’t have to wait long for our food, chip/salsa refills or drink refills. The $$$ are comparable to other mid-range Mexican Restaurants. Usually $ 10 – 15 a person. The salsa is unique. It is a spicy-sweet combo which is delicious. They provide free sopapillas and honey with your meal… so yummy. The atmosphere is basic Mexi restaurant, nothing special but clean. Overall, this establishment is a good example of New Mexican dining in Albuquerque. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Food was absolutely amazing! Though the booth and floor we were in were disgustingly dirty! A bunch of crumbs and just dirtyness in the cracks of the bench seat. The food is wonderful though.

To give this establishment 1 star is saying a lot. This is a time I wish we were able to give negative stars! Anyway, after waiting to be seated for a couple of minutes, our server asked us for our drink order. We asked her what kind of specialty drinks hey had to which she simply stated«margaritas». The salsa that came with our chips was absolutely terrible. It was a bit sweet, as if tamarind had been added. Anyway, I am some sort of a salsa connoisseur and could not stomach this stuff. I ordered the seafood enchiladas with veggies. As you can see by the picture, the veggies are sad. There was barely any seasoning on them, and they were very bland. The enchiladas were disgusting to say the least. I had 3 bites just to be sure, and yup, they were awful. My boyfriend, who has a completely different palate as me thought they were just as bad. My boyfriend finished his dish, which was okay at best. I asked the server to take my dish as I was done. She asked what was wrong and I explained how terrible the food was. She asked if I wanted anything else, but after the terrible service, crappy salsa, and tasting my boyfriend’s meal, I had had enough. I get knots in my throat just driving by this place. I will not be back, ever.

Used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant — especially for their unique and delicious salsa — and my husband and I went religiously every week, but the quality and portion sizes of the food have declined while the prices have risen. On one memorable occasion, after a month out of town, we were astounded to find the restaurant nearly empty at lunch hour, and when we opened the new menus we discovered why — the prices had gone up 50%, all in one go, the portions looked like they’d been hit with a shrink ray AND I ended up with food poisoning. Needless to say, we didn’t return for a long time after that. A considerable time later, we were in the area, hungry, and decided to give it another go. It had improved somewhat — prices the same, but at least the portions not so tiny, so we’ll likely try again. I will give them kudos for excellent, fast service.

Not Gluten Free!!! I asked the waitress, who was wonderful, twice to check with the cook for an entrée that would be Gluten Free. She did warn me there could be cross contamination from the tortillas. The cook suggested Fajitas. The chicken was very bland. The«steak» was not as good as my beef jerky and had a sweet aftertaste. The cook confirmed it was marinated in Soy sauce. Really! A New Mexican restaurant using Soy sauce! Manager was too busy to come talk to me so I could explain what happened

Shredded need Chimichanga was amazing, loaded with beef, got it Christmas style but like the green better. Sopapillas are great and free with meal. Recommended by a native ALB peep and agreed very good!

One of the best burritos I’ve ever tasted! Big portions at a good price. The service was fast, and the dining room was clean. The salsa was unique but delicious. The décor could stand to be updated, but that’s not why I ate there. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Just not what it used to be. Since I’m from alb, one of the first things I always do is go to Los cuates. Over the years, since they’ve grown the business, the food has become over priced, reduced portions, and simply not as tasty as it used to be. Case in point, today ordered a Carne adovada burrito, which used to be filled with multiple big chunks of tasty spicy carne. The one today literally only had 3 or 4 small chucks of meat, the rest was shredded and falling apart. It was more tortilla than burrito. My Wife’s cheese enchalida wasn’t melted. This is on par with my last several visits. The only item that is still as good as it used to be is the red sauce with the chips(still the best in the world!). From what I can tell, that’s the only thing that has any resemblence to the old Los cuates/silvianos. Another annoying change is there is no lunch menu on the weekends, like there used to be. Now you have to pay $ 4 more for the same plate… Real shame, my dad first went to silvianos on Lomas in 1971. I went there as a 3 year old in 1976. Went there every Saturday with my parents during college. As sad as it is, I just can’t tell people that Los cuates is amazing any more, it’s just ordinary…

Loved the sweet & spicy salsa. I had the #2 blue corn chicken enchiladas and they were awesome! My boys had the bean burrito and bean and cheese nachos and both were in heaven(especially after not having Mexican food in three weeks while road tripping!) Great service! Complimentary sopapillas, too!

Getting worse and worse– those time picking up my order the elderly lady was sucking on her hand before grabbing food — -yeah; can you say health violation. And I’m posting a picture of the«taco» I got; or at least the shell woth out any filling because it was all out. Needless to say– take out is getting bad and now I cant trust their health standards.

Took my lady out for dinner and a Margarita. The food was ok. Her plate was the steak and enchiladas. Enchiladas were great but the steak tasted like an old piece of meat… very chewy and quiet frankly we would never order that again. My plate was a combination enchiladas ribs and taco. Taco was dry enchiladas did not have enough sauce and the ribs were old. This is my second time going and it’s probably going to be a while until I decide whether I go there again or not. I like the service and the red chile but common we paid 96.00 $ wow pricey dinner for two with drinks!!!
