Despite its less than immaculate appearance, you’d be missing out if you judge this book by its cover. The broth here is rich and flavorsome and there are many condiments to season the dish according to your tastes. I especially recommend the SPICYBEEFPHO W/RARE STEAK… its life changing in my opinion. I can sincerely say this wonderful, complex bowl of phở has ruined me for any other bowls of phở out there. I’ve been punching Monday in the face with this magical eilixir religiously for almost a year now and I think I’ve found MYUNICORN!

I was in Albuquerque on a business trip and on my 4th day I was tired of New Mexican food and craving Phở. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this place is a great surprise! My wife and I are Phở junkies and always order the same thing. The beef broth is very rich without being greasy and the spring rolls are fantastic. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely come back!

This is my comfort food. Combination Phở with spring rolls is my go to. It hasn’t changed in years… 14 to be exact lol. Enjoy!

I’ve had phở, lots of it, and this place nails it. It’s got that familiar flavor and such generous portions that it takes effort to finish their«regular» bowl. I’ve not explored their menu too deeply, but so far have been highly satisfied with their soups and, oddly enough, their unusual combination of calamari and orange mayo dip.

Regularly visited this traditional Vietnamese eatery for the last three years. I became a fan on my first visit. The location invites the curious to walk in and discover more as it is located in an inconspicuous building right off Central. The hotel there has been used as a location for several recent films. Upon entering the restaurant you sense a certain family ambiance that is absent in most chain or corporate owned. Phở Linh caters to lots of local SE Asian families and its known for its authentic flavors and focus on quality. The staff is comprised by the same Vietnamese family that owns the establishment. They know most of their customers by first name and truly treat them like family. I have tried many of the dishes on their menu and so far they are all great. The Phở is fantastic, combining flavors and fragrances that are unique to this storied specialty. The Hu Tieu Ga Cary(southern curry chicken soup) is my favorite and the bowl is so large that I will eat half and take the other half home with some Cha Gio(rollls) for dinner. It is a great place for a peaceful dinner off the beaten path, to organize an event for a large party or to take the whole family out. Day, Kim and Thuc are always super nice to children whom are always attracted to the colorful fish tank in the corner. Last but not least I should say the prices are very reasonable and the portions are plentiful. Hen gap lai(see you soon)

Great phở! All around… I cant say enough good things about this place. Me and my wife travel ALOT and we are always looking for a Phở spot as kind of a running comp of which city is best. This is one of the best bowls of Phở I HAVEEVERCONSUMED. Hot, fresh and flavorful. I wanted to bathe in it, is taste so good. I also had my fights Avocodo shake here, and now I am hooked and cant find one anywhere :(. If you are in Alb, make sure you eat here!

I went into the restaurant yesterday. When the waitress handed Mr my food the bad want tied correctly and fell. Some of my food fell out the container and hit the floor. The waitress reached in the bag and pushed my food back in the containers. I wasn’t offered new food and I’m sure her hands weren’t clean. I’m dissatisfied and disappointed.

It is unassuming(and kinda scary at first) but I have been coming here for over two years now. And I went through 2 pregnancies craving their Spicy soup. I walk in and they know what I want without even a second thought. The spring rolls, spicy beef soup minus meat add mushrooms(I know, I know seems pointless) but it is awesome. You can ask them to adjust the heat if you need to. And the avocado shake is a nice change of pace. Very friendly, very inviting after you get over the initial hump and the food I have ordered has always been consistent.

Wish you could give this place a better score because the food is good. But the service is terrible. Some young Vietnamese girl forgets about other customers in the restaurant when young Vietnamese men are in this place. I bet if I walked out and didn’t pay they wouldn’t even know. But whoever thinks it’s a good idea for her to work here wouldn’t appreciate that.

It wasn’t busy. Lady was on the phone when she gave me a menu. She never came back and continued to be on the phone. I have been warned about the bad customer services here. I left.

One of the only places that puts the sate in the phở before serving it. Their spicy phở is the best in the land!

Decent spot for Vietnamese food here in abq. My only complaint about this place was the service/atmosphere. Our waitress was a little rude and not the most attentive They don’t necessarily wait on you like at a typical American restaurant. Might be a Vietnamese thing but at other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve still been waited on. Soda comes in cans. The spring rolls are great! The phở I got here(rare beef) was okay. Good enough to eat and enjoy but I’ve had much better. A group of people next to us were eating some delicious looking/smelling chicken entrees that I would maybe come back to get. Portions aren’t bad, prices aren’t bad either.

We came here for dinner during our last night in Albuquerque and it was not a very memorable dinner for us. We wanted to try the grilled catfish, but found out that you must order that 2 hours in advance. Instead at the recommendation of the owner we tried the following: #18 Fresh Spring Roll With Shrimp Paste and Sugar Cane Would skip ordering this next time altogether. #19 Vietnamese Egg Rolls Standard egg rolls, but nothing that really stood out. #35 Spicy Beef Phở Decent flavor, but the phở with lemongrass made for an interesting combo that we weren’t quite expecting. #88 Sautéed Catfish(Sliced With Bone In) In Clay Pot This catfish was way too sweet for our tastes. If you order this, but sure to NOT eat the skin…

I got the #99 vegetarian rice vermicelli with egg rolls. The vermicelli is exactly what I wanted, and it tasted authentic and fresh. The serving size is huge, I had enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow.

After hearing that my daughter’s friend comes here for soup as well as my sister’s high regards for their fried rice, I decided to bring my children here. I come here for two reasons. First, I enjoy the menu items that I have ordered. Secondly, the National Dance Institute of New Mexico [NDI-NM] is close to Phở Linh’s restaurant, so we visit here if we do not have time to travel far from NDI-NM. Since my daughters are both dancers, I ask them to mainly drink water — especially during the NDI-NM performance weeks where we need to stay hydrated and energized with healthy options. The water tastes good here, and that is an issue because I have tasted weird water in different parts of Albuquerque. Phở Linh used to serve the water with a lime, but now-a-days I do not see them doing this any more. That is fine though since all I care about is drinking good water. Although my younger daughter and I really like this place, my older child and husband think that is is just A-OK. Maybe they like the other Vietnamese place up the street? Or, maybe they want a different cuisine? Either way, I know not to over suggest this place to them as a dining option. The Phở Linh owners are always welcoming(at least to their regular customers). They usually remember what you like to order, and how you like to be served. For example my younger daughter and I ordered the soup yesterday, and they knew automatically that it was just one order of soup, and the worker knew to bring an extra bowl for me. We usually order the chicken soup because I like the broth while my daughter loves the noodles. After you eat hear, you feel as if you ate healthy food, and you do feel full. For these reasons I will keep coming back to Phở Linh’s Vietnamese Grill.

I went mainly for the Phở and it was truly OK. I thought the service was OK. The prices were OK and the portions were OK. If you walk in and nobody is there but you, don’t worry, that’s OK. Everything will be OK. The Tofu and vegetables were actually really good. My wife always gets the veggie stir fries and I am always amazed at how many restaurants serve veggies that have that highly tannic bitter vegetable after taste. Not this place. I actually thought they were the best. The sauce had a nice flavor and balanced the plate nicely. I went searching for a rare beef Phở. There was some talk online about how everyone in town serves the rare beef under the broth so that it comes out well done by the time it gets to your table. I tend to agree this is a problem. My beef was totally well done by the time it came out. I should have asked for it on the side but I was testing the waters so to speak. I hope my 3 star rating doesn’t stop anyone from going here because I have been before and will go again.

My family and I like this place a whole lot. There are a few reasons why we like this place and I will get to them momentarily. If you are one of those that lack of patience, go to paragraph 69 and you will see why… jk lol. Well, this is the only Vietnamese restaurant that my family, my friends and co-workers who I introduced to keep coming back and go to in town. 1. Location: it is conveniently located on Central, west of San Mateo, right next to the«castle» store and a motel, how much more convenient could it get??? if you are not laughing, you need to find out what that store is. 2. Menu: you will feel overwhelmed with their menu… actually, it is like that for all Asian restaurants. They have about 20,000 items on their menus and most of them are the same. However, the owner was smart enough to organize their menu according whether the dish is normal rice, broken rice, noodle, vermicelli noodle, fat noodle, thin noodle, short noodle, tall noodle, weird looking noodle… sounds like people doesn’t it? 3. Beverages: Alcohol is a no no no at most of the authentic Asian restaurants. Why? cause it is almost impossible to pair Vietnamese food with Western alcohol drinks. Though, you have got to try avocado shake, sounds nasty? ya that is what most my friends told me, until you take that first sip and you gonna come back for more. Durian? if you are not Southeast Asians, I highly advise that you don’t try it, or try it at the very end of your meal, the smell of durian could be very nasty, and overwhelming. 4. What to order if this is your first Vietnamese experience ever? you have missed out all your life with that Viet cuisine. 4.a Appetizer: Try their«Grilled Ground Beef Loaf Wrapped in Grape Leaf» not only is it moist, soft, but very well marinated. Or «Golden Crispy Squid With Orange Mayonnaise Sauce», their squid is thinly sliced and battered and fried, and you dip that long stick of squid into their homemade mayonnaise sauce, it’s like party in the USA in 1999 in your mouth. The mayonnaise sauce is not just any ordinary one, it is extraordinary, influenced by the French cuisine, not only is it rich, but also light and refreshing at the same time… 4.b) Entrée? try their«Beef Noodle Soup Combination» aka, Phở. It is the soul food of Vietnam. It takes a long time to cook the soup, about 12 hours or so. What is inside Phở? You will find Rare Steak, Well Done Flank, Brisket, Tendon, Tripe and Beef Meat Ball, served with Bean Sprouts, Sweet Basil, Jalapeño and Lime.- — - if you are familiar with French cuisine, it is familiar to that of The French«pot-au-feu». 4.c) What if I hate soup and I don’t know how to use chopsticks to eat beside using it to hold my hair? easy fix, go with rice, the broken rice. Broken rice is not broken because they broke the normal rice, but just the smaller, shorter grain of rice. 4.d) what if i don’t know how to use chopsticks and I hate rice? gettin’ picky there! no worries, try their«Steamed Tiny Rice Vermicelli Plate» these are tiny little shinny vermicelli noodle woven into pads, kinda cool, my favorite dish here. Go easy on the fish sauce if you have never tried it before. 5. Dessert? hahaha, ya no they don’t serve deserve, most authentic Asian restaurants don’t care much for this. However, your Avocado shake, Durian shake… comes in handy here. 6. Service: only 2 waitress, 1 is the owner and another is the sister of the owner. they try their best to serve you but it aint gonna be like an American restaurant where they have waitress wait on you. Try your best to order everything, EVERYTHING, in one shot if you don’t to wait for about 100 years for them to come back. If you are shameless like me, go to the counter and ask for whatever that is you need and she will be more than happy to help you. 7. Atmosphere: aint the greatest to be honest. It is family friendly, singles friendly or peeps who are dating friendly… ideal for your first date here? I think not. You do not want to kiss each other, if it is your first kiss after having a Vietnamese meal, you gonna gag. Why should you take this review into serious consideration? My family is an integrated family of French and Viet, growing up in a 2 generations of chef, and eating food from both cuisines, you developed a picky pallet for both cuisines and this restaurant makes food the ways that my grandmaw and maw would make.

Traveled to NM from Southern California and we were craving phở and I must say … This place is great!!! The portions are huge! The flavor is amazing, the price is really reasonable; they have a huge menu and a great environment. The service was also amazing. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their meals as well. I am vegetarian and they had a whole menu of different options. Yum !
