This place has some really unique items. I had a side of the Tomato Casserole, and it was great. On this location, when it was a local hang out bar(circa 1976) we hung here). What a great job they have done with this place, and maintaining the roots!

Sorry Alburtis tavern. Had the boom boom shrimp. No flavor. Obviously reheated from frozen. It was basically breading. Seems to be a big drop off with food quality recently. Like the décor and service. Wings and appetizers were good when they first opened but maybe changed food suppliers. Everything tastes average or worse. Hope they raise the quality soon.

Very cool place right, obviously a converted railroad train station hotel. Everything is clean and up-to-date, all tidy, even the parking lot. Lots of railroad signs for décor inside. Attentive wait staff. I had the Reuben served on toasted rye was to expectations, not overloaded with any one ingredient so nothing fell out, $ 10.99 plus $ 1.99 for the waffle fries — perfectly cooked, seasoned well, not oily, puffy inside, crispy outside & golden brown and no taste of onion rings, thank God. Those fries were A+ and fried with clean oil. Miller Lite draft $ 3/glass(Coors Light draft unavailable). Landshark $ 2.5016 oz A bit pricey but it is not a dive either. Very nice experience here.

Food is always good bar favor — employees are always polite and prompt & efficient — wish I could say something nice about the general population that go there but it’s Alburtis — like when they have the outdoor tables set up! Doesn’t feel so cramped on the inside!

Overpriced for what is Applebee’s fair. Clearly a following. Large. Service staff are friendly. They take reservations. Interesting menu. And, then it unravels … Specials do not have pricing. Not surprisingly they run higher than average for the regular entrees. Waitress, while friendly, was moderately attentive at best. Even after discussing the salad, these never appeared. Delivery staff wasn’t sure what the items were, nor were they sure which entrée went to which person. Then the food … Wife’s entrée of pasta and seafood was warm in spots and cool in others. Microwaved? Or, just sitting on a counter in the kitchen for too long? The Fire House Burgers had a kick, but were definitely not the spicy creation that the ingredients implied. Brat special was bland. Boom Boom Shrimp appetizer was definitely not on par with the Bone Fish variety — known as Bang Bang Shrimp — or even the Buffalo Wing Shrimp from 1760 Grill. These were tiny, with breading being more than 50% of these — okay, super tiny, popcorn-sized shrimp. Too many other options in the area.

Went here on a business lunch, options are very limited in the small town of Alburtis. We were seated quickly and service was friendly and on point. Had the veggie burger with potato chips. No complaints there. Everyone else in our party also liked their food.

Always good. Homemade blue cheese is great! Careful tho. They charge for it sometimes. Salads are big. Great staff… We will continue to return!

This place is a total mess since the big expansion. Servers couldn’t keep up with all the tables they had and the service was really bad. It took forever for the food to come out. Can it be that they didn’t expand the size of their kitchen too? Ridiculous. Servers had to bus their own tables so tables sat with dirty dishes for a very long time. The food was good, but the ridiculous wait times for food and service have it on the ‘where not to eat’ list. They’re having a lot of growing pains now. Get it ironed out and I’ll consider returning.

Awesome food worth the price — whenever a train goes by they spin a wheel and you might win a free beer… so much fun for family or a date or just a drink. Super friendly too!

Fantastic food. This is our«go to» when it comes to dining out. It’s a half hour away from but we’re always willing to make the drive. Great apps, great burgers, great entrees. Staff is always friendly and inviting. If you’re looking to eat there on a Friday or Saturday evening i recommend using the call ahead seating.

I have tried a few mixed drinks. They have all been awful. Go with beer. They have a good selection. The food has been a mix. Sometimes good, sometimes burnt. Overall, it’s alright.

I think it’s horrible that the owners of this establishment will not accept gift cards purchased at Buckeye tavern. t’s an extremely cheap move not to help out the people who purchased money in advance to eat at your establishments. People spent money out of loyalty and they should return the same favor to their customers. Shame on you.

I’ll make this quick. Friendly service. Upbeat atmosphere. Good menu selection. Horrid turkey burgers that taste like they’re frozen patties 20 years old. Decent chicken pot pie, but could stand additional flavor and chicken that’s not overcooked and dried out. If you don’t go expecting anything great, you’ll likely be satisfied. Hey, it’s Alburtis.

I really liked this place, until the last visit. They raised the prices. A bowl of soup is now $ 6 instead of $ 5 and if you want another dressing, they charge $ 2!!! Insane!!! Ok if you want to sneak in an extra $ 1 I’ll get over it but $ 2? That combined with the waitress’s icy demeanor has made me not want to visit again. So let me give you a run down. Buffalo chicken salad. Literally lettuce, chopped up celery and a small chicken cutlet in buffalo sauce. $ 12.99. An extra dressing $ 1.99 a bowl of soup $ 5.99. That’s $ 21 that’s more then the filet mignon dinner! For a soup and salad lunch at a bar, the prices are insane! I know your other place burned down, but stop trying to burn your other business’s customers. Spending $ 50 on lunch is insane for 2 people. Get more creative with your buffalo salad, some onions, peppers even candied walnuts would be great. Stop with the gouging, just give fries. Add another $ 1 or whatever to your burgers and wraps. Lower the price of the soup or maybe a $ 2.50 or $ 3 add on with a meal. Hopefully you’ll get your act together in the future.

I’ve been back here several times since my last review. Everything has improved with time. Almost all of the food I have had has been excellent. The deck is great to enjoy a drink or meal in nice weather, and the coziness inside is great in the winter. My main gripe is that I’d like a better beer selection on tap, but it appears to be improving!

Good typical american bar/Grill. Portions were of generous size and the food was well executed. Beer list is good sized and they have a good sized selection of taps. The chance to win a free beer when the train goes by is a clever idea and a clever touch. Prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere is what you would expect for a midrange rural bar.

Great beer selection! Lots of draft and even more bottles to choose from. The décor is fun, rail road memorabilia, the place is clean, atmosphere is casual, fun for groups of family/friends. The food is food that you can literally get in any number of pubs in the area, nothing special. The wings are good, but a bit on the pricey side… not sure why. My husband and I had 3 craft beers each, wings, and a burger and the bill was around $ 70. Fun place, good service, we usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are always attentive and knowledgeable around the menu and new beers on tap. It’s fun when a train comes thru(which is often) and they give away free drinks –not to everyone… go and see how it works for yourself!

Nice place. It seems the townies invaded so that leaves very little room for anyone else. Older crowd, my parents age. At least that’s how it was at Friday happy hour. That is no different than many of the other places we’ve been to around here. Too bad because we live a couple minutes from the tavern. Maybe in the summer it’ll be better because there appeared to be a lot of outdoor space. The bartenders were nice and attentive. They have a great selection of beer. The place is clean. They have nice tv’s. We will try again when it’s warm out.
