Can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s my favorite place for a quick lunch during the week or on the weekend. I’m glad they are staying open later these days. My daughter and I like to come and grab some shrimp po boys. I’ve had some great fish here, they will cook it to order at market price while you wait with a local draft beer and by the time you browse their selection of products your meal is prepared and hot on the table. There’s lots of Cajun influence if you like that sort of flavor. You can dine in and take some quality fish, shrimp, oysters, chowders, gumbo, bisque, lobster, sausage, duck, gator, shark, salmon, crawfish, etc with you for later. Their staff love to chat about their food and good ways to prepare things if you’d like some help with new recipe ideas. They are happy to do special orders for most things so you get good fresh food.

This place is outstanding. In addition to its meal menu, Shrimp Dock will grill/fry anything from its extensive selection of very fresh fish. For just over $ 11, the friendly staff grilled me a generous slice of wild salmon with a lemon herb butter, along with sides of fresh broccoli and French fries. Granted, I’m used to city prices, but this price floored me! I hope these guys do well!

I ordered a cod fish sandwish that smelled a really fishy when they served it, but hey, it’s a fish place. When I took a bite, the fish was not only bad but had a pungent ammonia smell of decomposing fish and a strange texture I can only describe as gelatin The manager was nice and refunded my money but his reaction was more concerning than the bad fish. He said it was the distributor’s fault and he can’t do anything about it. How about smelling the fish when it’s cooking? I noticed it! The smell remained on my fingers for more than a day. Won’t be eating fish for a very long time.

The 42nd Street office is about a half block from The Shrimp Dock. Our office doesn’t just eat there but, we crave the fresh fish and/or anything they offer. I would not just recommend the food but, it is the best food Maryville /Alcoa. Do not miss out!!!

We decided to eat here for the first time. YES! You can actually go in, sit down and eat. I order the shrimp po boy and the other person in my party order just the fried shrimp. Needless to say, we couldn’t finish them. The shrimp was very fresh and cooked to perfection. Super tender that just melted in your mouth. We couldn’t finish our meals because they know how to fix a dish! Served in the styrofoam type take out containers, they were so full that the lids could would barely close. The price wasn’t bad either. Of course it’s going to cost slightly more than the typical fast food place but it’s fresh seafood. Seafood is usually more costly than a 1⁄8 inch thick frankenburger. Previous to us eating here we had purchased items to do a boil last year. If you’ve never done this, I would highly recommend you stop waiting. Directions are very simple and you will receive everything you need except the gas, ice and water(if you need pot/s and burners they will also supply those too). Very friendly and knowledgable staff. You can’t go wrong with The Shrimp Dock!

Considering this place is located in Alcoa, not exactly a city that comes to mind when thinking of seafood, they do a fantastic job. I’ve had the cod with tequila lime marinade and found the fish perfectly cooked. My only complaint would be that I found the sauce a bit too salty for my taste, but that can be changed easily as every order is customizable. I also had the crab cakes, not bad but I lived in the DC area for many years and they just weren’t as good at the Shrimp Dock. The crab legs are frozen and they’ll boil them with a touch of old bay. I got snow crab, but they also have dungeness and king crab. I had a taste of the shrimp po boy and found it to be very yummy. Lots of breaded little shrimp, they definitely don’t skimp on anything. Seems to be one of the more popular items on the menu too. I personally think this place is better than going to Chesapeake’s in downtown Knoxville and a ton better than Red Lobster. It’s much cheaper too. It’s not a fancy establishment, so expect plastic forks and styrofoam plates. The cook in the back seems to really know how to properly prepare seafood as everything I’ve had from this place is perfectly cooked. They also have other random meats such as turtle, gator, rabbit, and octopus. For dessert they carry cakes, although I’ve never tried them yet, they look amazing.

We’re lucky to have such a «catch»(get it) in Murvull. This place is an awesome change to the otherwise average options we have to choose from. The Shrimp Dock has been in the greater Knoxville area for several years now. I think it has changed ownership, but still good quality seafood. This is my lunch getaway these days. You can order grilled fresh fish with a side of slaw, beans/rice, or even broccoli for under $ 10. Last week I had a blackened salmon filet with broccoli. It’s a pretty simple equation: fresh fish+no waiters+not a big chain=clean quality food at an affordable price. If you like it fried, they can do that. If you’d like something out of the icebox, they can do that. Steamed shrimp or blackened tilapia po’boys, they can do that. Lot’s of options at this place. The only thing I’d like to see is a better selection of side items. The side salad was unsat. The fries are average. Except for the broccoli it’s tough to choose a low-carb/sugar healthy side. How about just some good red beans(hold the rice). Or possibly a seasonal veggie mix grilled to perfection. These guys do a good job. The irony of this location in Maryville is that it used to be a Long John Silvers… wow what an upgrade. And oh, by the way they self all the fresh seafood items too. Thanks Shrimp Dock

Glad this place is in the maryville/alcoa area. Great local business with some killer lunch deals. Just had a perfectly prepared piece of fresh tuna with two sides for 9.99. My wife had mahi mahi for 6.99. Great product and value.
