They have outdone themselves. Really. Granny’s Turkey Sandwich is today’s special… homemade croissant, homemade honey mustard, home smoked turkey, swiss cheese and granny smith apples. I love you Grandma!!!

Very delicious sandwiches made with fresh ingredients! The menu is very limited, wish they would expand it. The staff is very friendly. I love how the place is decorated — very artistic. We weren’t sure how to get to the parking lot, but it worked out fine. First time there for us, it was confusing because I didn’t see and cold drinks to have with lunch. While amazing I think $ 10 was high because nothing came with the sandwich as a side. We would go back and that’s all that matters

Went by for breakfast on Sunday morning. Had the ham and cheese croissant and lox. All was excellent. The croissants were buttery and light and delicious. We decided to try the chocolate croissant. OHMYGOD! Bliss. The owner was working on prep for lunch and was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back! I seldom give 5 stars but I couldn’t think of a single thing they could do better. Great job!

The food was very good. We had the home-made granola with yogurt and fruit and the«what came first», a rosemary biscuit with a chicken gravy and a fried egg on top. The granola and the biscuit were both delicious. We could see the baker making fresh croissants and biscuits from our table, which looked wonderful. We gave them four stars because the service could have been better however, that may be because they were understaffed. Also, we feel that the menu could be simpler, there are to many options for a bakery they should focus on highlighting there delicious baked goods. The ambience was lacking. It’s a beautiful building with the ability to have a more comfortable café feeling. Overall, the food was great and this place has potential. Next time we’ll try the croissants.

My friend and I dropped in to grab lunch. It was fabulous!!! We are already making plans to return. The croissants and black berry jam were to die for.

So good and so fresh. Just everything is amazing. The blueberry croissants are to die for. They use local, orgonic produce. My husband loves their bagels with the house made lox. Can’t find that anywhere else in Alec and its delicious every time. Try their sandwiches!

Driving from Dallas to NOLA and found a charming little coffee shop serving sandwiches just off the interstate. Very friendly staff in a restored home. My wife had a well balanced shrimp Po’Boy and I had Curry Chicken Salad with picketed cucumbers. Both were very good … sweet tea was refreshing and not overly sweet, used real cane sugar syrup. Freshly baked bread. Great spot for lunch!

Thanks Unilocal! You have yet to let me down. What an awesome coffee«house». Beyond the drinks, the home was welcoming and pleasant. Didn’t have time to try the food, but it looks amazing. Advice to those that venture to this Java shop, parking is behind the building. You can enter the back alley from 19th or 20th street. Or like I did, you have to park in their driveway. Enjoy.

LOVETHISPLACE! This quaint little house, remodeled into a coffee shop is the perfect place to grab a coffee to go or to hole up in a chair in the corner with a good book or some work! The interior is gorgeous and the atmosphere is modern but homey. We came on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am. We enjoyed lattes, chai tea, and a pour over. The coffee was smooth and warm, not bitter at all! I highly recommend the croissants! We ordered the ham & cheese and the chocolate croissants. They were buttery, light, and flakey. The chocolate ones, in particular, brought me back to my time in France this past summer! The fillings were delicious! If you’re even the least bit hungry I’d say don’t pass these up! They don’t serve lunch on the weekends but do offer a chicken salad sandwich. It’s a delicious curry chicken salad with red grapes served on toasted bread. Also very good! They have multiple tables and seating options, including a porch out front with chairs as well. Parking in back.

I’ve tried the Cuban and Burger, both where great. Awesome daily specials. Breakfast croissant also really good. Probably my favorite lunch spot in Alexandria. Wish they had lunch on weekends. P. S. They have a new(bigger) menu. The Porker is very good as well. And pastries are great. Update: Think they may open for lunch on weekends now. I even heard they make pizzas some days.

We stopped here on a road trip — Florida to Colorado. I am certain that we will visit Alexandria, LA again simply to grab sandwiches at this coffee house. The Roast Beef Debris Po Boy still haunts me months after tasting it for the first time.

Just amazing! My husband and I stopped here for breakfast and were floored! We tried the ham and cheese croissant, the chocolate croissant and the Serrano ham manchego cheese and arugula bagel. The croissants were so soft and flakey and fresh! They bake them fresh daily. The flavors were outstanding and paired well with my café au lait. Everything was simply fantastic! A MUST stop if you are ever in Alexandria! We will be back!
