My husband and I found Cindy Baggett & Leslie Rodriguez, from Weichert Realtors/Alexandria VA office, went way beyond our expectations time and time again. Starting over 3 years ago we used Cindy & Leslie as selling agents for our one bedroom condo. After quickly receiving our asking price offer, the women helped us go through inspection and minor repairs before finding the appraisal had come in under contract price. With a VA zero down mortgage, there was too much variance to re-negotiate. Meanwhile we had moved to Mexico. By long distance, Cindy & Leslie helped us interview and contract with renters for a year + half lease, recommending so contract would end with the beginning of spring selling season. At the end of the lease our renter’s jobs relocated them. We were then faced with an empty apartment. The women staged our condo with their own stock of furnishings, accessories and art. We got a contract quickly. Again, still being out of the country, Cindy & Leslie arranged for various repairs, supplying us with several multiple bids when necessary, then coordinating vendors onto the secure property and into our unit, and finally passing off our final set of keys to the new owner. We recommend them highly for their tireless efforts.

These agents represented the buyer who bought my condo. After first meeting them, I got the impression they were ill-prepared agents, unconventional(in a bad way), and just not very nice people. I was right. I felt bad for the buyer because she seemed a little green. But what could I do? I was in it for me. During one of our meetings to negotiate the offer(they asked for a sit-down meeting w/me to present their first offer), they were plainly put – awkward and unprofessional. Everyone at our table was uncomfortable. At the end of the meeting, they got starts in their eyes and started talking(in front of me!) how the seller was going to give them the gorgeous chandeliers I had installed years before. They knew my feelings about my place b/c my place ROCKED. Yet, in front of me – because they couldn’t help themselves – they verbalized to each other that one was taking the smaller chandelier and the other was taking the larger one. As seasoned agents, they should know that selling and buying a home can be an emotional experience(one never knows if the seller is selling b/c of a divorce or death, etc), thus agents should not take the risk of offending either the seller or buyer, especially when the contract has yet to be signed. It’s just good practice to be courteous and respectful throughout the entire transaction and just be decent — or fake it if you don’t know how. One major blight for the buyer was that she opted to forego the home inspection, at the advice of Cindy and Leslie. On the day of the walk-through and closing, they encountered a problem with the toilet. They called my agent and asked«How is she going to fix this?» Appalled by their flip assumption, we fought back and said it’s not my problem. If they wanted the sale to go through(it was a cash transaction), these professionally-challenged agents would have to take care of the problem themselves. And they did, since it was their bad advice that landed the poor buyer into the situation. I see these ladies from time to time in my building. It’s never a nice time running into them b/c of their unfriendly manner and chilly personalities. They’re just not nice human beings. It’s like they go out of their way to be rude in the elevators. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say the word«jerk» comes to mind when I run into them. But that’s for everyone else to judge for themselves. Good luck with them, if you choose to give them your business.
