Food was good. Counter service only. Girl at the counter was very unfriendly and, some might say, rude. The older gentleman was quite nice and very friendly. Good place to get something on the go. The Virginia ham was a delight. Everything cook as ordered. I would have given five stars but for the counter girl.

Over priced for what you get. Not worth it. The Food was good surprisingly. But not worth the price.

Near total disappointment. Used to be a great experience bit this morning I was met by disinterested and minimum effort staff. Bills itself as a British experience but it is not. It has lost its personality. Food so so.

Based on the Unilocal reviews; I went to Extra Perks Coffee Shop. If you have time to waste then this is your place. However, the person seated next to me did say that it’s not this bad during the week. I waited 15 minutes to be seated, 20 minutes to be waited on and 35 minutes to be served. Needless to say the pancakes were cold and the eggs were hot. I really believe they only have one cook in the kitchen. You don’t see any food coming out of the kitchen. I can’t see going back not even on the week day.

Love this place! You may have to wait for a table because it is usually busy, especially if you have 4 or more people. I have never had a bad meal here, great«diner» type food but they have unique offerings. Great for a quick breakfast!

The«Full British Breakfast» includes American bacon and you pay extra for British baked beans. Misnomer. Disappointed.

Just got back from Extra Perks. I was there first thing, 8:35AM, on a Sunday. Let me say the food was great. I had the British Breakfast. What I did not like is the atmosphere and the person, mature lady, who directed the flow of folks coming in. Please, you are greeting me in sweatpants! I kind of got things stirred up because when I came in I did not see anyone so I tried to seat myself in the«wait service section.» I was explained the different sections. I decided I would sit in the«wait service section.» I then stated that I did not want to sit at a two table top away from the window. Instead I wanted to sit by the window which was a three table top. They reluctantly agreed and the lady in sweatpants passive aggressively removed the two extra place settings. I said this is not starting off good. My server was polite. I am simple diner. Just give me my food and if I need anything I will let you know. I don’t need additions and or deletions from my order. I read what the entrée entails and take it. If don’t care for it, I won’t eat it. As I was waiting for my breakfast, I noticed something-the place has too many signs/postings of what one can and can’t do. Very off putting. Also the section where you can seat yourself, all the tables had reserved signs on them. I assume they still want to direct that as well. The restaurant reminded me of that Seinfeld episode of the«Soup Nazi.» I thought I was the customer. This is a joint experience. I have been looking for weeks for a new weekend breakfast home since Mancini’s closed a few weeks ago. I have struck out again. Some food for thought.

A great place to get breakfast! This quickly became my favorite breakfast spot while I was living in Alexandria. I always ordered the blueberry pancakes and an english muffin breakfast sandwhich, with cheese and ham. My friends have said the chocolate chip pancakes and the three egg omelette are good. Happy to say I’ve gotten others hooked on this place. A quiet and enjoyable place to eat on weekdays. On weekends, I call ahead and do carryout.

If been here a few times. The last time I was here I was pretty upset at how slow the service was so much so that I just wanted to get carry out. I didn’t want to bother with dining in but we were in no rush this time. Today the speed was better but not optimal. Our waiter got switched mid-meal and no one told us so when we needed more coffee we waited around looking for someone who seemed to have left the building. The food got here quickly but no one checked on us after so the check got here very late. The food was amazing today! It’s just a home cooked style mean but it really hit the spot. I had the American breakfast with multigrain toast, medium eggs and thick bacon. I’m leaving full and 100% content food wise.

Good place to get brunch. It was a decent priced meal. However, you don’t really get a lot of food for what you pay for. You have to pay separately for any add ons that you want(ex: bacon, sausage, etc.) I got their Belgium waffles which were pretty good! They had blueberry on top and it was a perfect balance between tart and sweet. They have alcohol here too which surprised me because it is a small sit in restaurant. When you step i. You order at the counter and you go pick up your food from the counter when it is ready. Good place for brunch, but nothing too special about it.

My husband and I really enjoyed our first brunch here over the weekend. They have soy milk which is always a plus. Now just add some vegan breakfast options(waffles and tofu scramble?) and I’d be here weekly! Service was pretty good and not too crowded. Also not greasy like most diner food. I’ll be back!

I went here for brunch yesterday. My friend and I arrived here towards the end of brunch so there weren’t many others here besides us. We were actually the last customers of the day. Overall, this place was okay. The food was decent. I got the Waffle and All which is a belgian waffle topped with warm fruit compote. It came with an egg cooked your way(I got mine scrambled) and sausage links which I substituted with turkey sausage patties. The waffle with the fruit was delicious. The eggs and sausage were pretty basic to me, nothing special but still good. The prices were great.

Meal was a standard diner style breakfast experience. Gets the job done. Average speed of food service. Not too crowded for 8:30 am on a Saturday. Server never came back to check up. Never brought water. $ 14 with tip for coffee, two pc toast, two eggs, three strips of bacon and hash browns.

The pancakes are so thick and heavy on the stomach. I’m willing to try one of their breakfast sandwiches. Very cute spot and excellent location. The pumpkin spice latte was tasty and the gentleman who made it(forgot his name, but he wears glasses) was so pleasant and attentive to how I wanted it prepared.

Snickers latte had a gross kick to it. I told them I didn’t want it to go but they gave me it in a paper cup that made it taste like paper or cardboard. I’d rather have an MRE coffee. The quiche, the one with rotten tasting broccoli, had bacon in it. Honestly I’d rather to go to pandora next time. I only came here for a cozy home feel. The paper cup latte kinda ruined that. It didn’t help that the younger lady that ran me up seemed to have an attitude. Maybe she was just tired though idk. The old 80 yr old dude yelling at his disabled wife was entertaining though. As well as the older ladies next to me gossiping about their divorced friend that just got a full laser hair treatment. Not welcoming or cozy. Sorta harsh and rigid atmosphere. Poorly prepared food and beverages. Ooo, there’s a big spider by my head.

I went here a little over two years ago and fell in love. It’s a very casual but quaint little breakfast and lunch spot. The owner is English and super nice. This past Sunday I braved the cold and took my Dad to have some breakfast, it was worth it. The food was good and did not take long to come out at all. The waffle I got was huge, I could not finish it all. I got my scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage and bacon, you can’t go wrong with any of that. The Dulce de Leche Latte is my favorite. Go, you will not be disappointed!

There aren’t many simple breakfast options in this neighborhood, so Extra Perks has the market cornered for those times when you’re not looking for a fancy brunch spot, just some eggs and hash browns with a side of meat. They serve up solid egg dishes, like the American or English breakfasts and the corned beef hash(which comes with two eggs). I’m not usually a pancake person, but I really like their oatmeal wheat germ pancakes. Instead of being just a spongy conduit for eating syrup, they actually have a nice, slightly sweet flavor on their own and a good texture. The service can be a little hit or miss. Sometimes it’s a bit slow, and I would never describe it as warm. For some reason, you never seem to get a coffee refill unless you ask, which seems like a significant flaw for a breakfast spot. All in all, since there is no diner around, Extra Perks will have to do for now.

Great authentic British and American cuisine. The owner is British and the place is full of European accents so you know its good. Inexpensive food here. Scrambled eggs are some of the best I’ve ever had, light and fluffy.
