The food was great. The service was horrible. The restaurant was not busy but the waiter took so long to: take our order, did not bring condiments to go with the food we ordered, and never took our payment. He focused his attention on his other table. We had to ask another waitress for assistance to get through our meal and pay. The service here was a great disappointment.

Omg I am so pleased with the food, the service everything was amazing. Large portions and good Childrens options. Must get the Shepard’s pie and the bread pudding!!! Gamal was very nice, fast and professional.

So far we’ve just ordered fish and chips. That being said, those are the best we have had in the DC area. This has very quickly become one of our regular spots. Sometime we will need to try something else on the menu.

Definitely a great atmosphere– family and friends are welcome for sure. The beer prices are high, but it’s a good selection of drinks. My husband had the Shepard’s Pie with Guinness and I tried the Chicken Pie with Magners Cider. The food was good, I was expecting more traditional«Irish». By traditional I was thinking crusted pie, browned, and generally very hearty. The pies we had at Fiona’s were good, but just reached the ingredient list– not necessarily the actual«Irish pie» I was expecting. We will definitely try again, I’m interested in what else Fiona’s has to offer!

Menu isn’t huge but food is pretty good. Loud, open, and busy place if crowded. Would try it again.

I had the pork chop platter with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts(which I love :) The porkchop was really flavorful and tender. Hubby had the fish and chips. They were tasty too but he said he could have had a little more fish and less fries. They’ve done a nice job with the décor(King Street Blues was previously in this space). I will be back for the porkchops.

Had lunch here for the first time with the family. I had Shepard’s Pie, my wife had corned beef and cabbage, and the kids had burgers. All of it was awesome! We highly recommend this place.

My husband loves the fish-n-chips – he loves their fries. I really like the wings with both BBQ and buffalo sauce(combined). The BBQ chicken sandwich was tasty too. The chocolate mousse is very lite… not the typical mousse, and yet surprisingly tasty.

Eaten here several times. Always good service & good food. Heck this place got me to eat Brussel Sprouts. I’ve been here with many groups and they always accommodate us. It can get very crowded on the weekends. They have pretty good happy hour too.

Comforting Irish American establishment. The food may not be very unique or innovative, but it is food prepared very well. For example, the corned beef and cabbage is made in a traditional way that is very comforting and reminiscent to my dad’s recipe and preparation. Usually, when I visit I get the shepherd’s pie for my British Isle eats or I should say Irish fare. Also made for comfort and quite hearty and a sizable portion. The restaurant is spacious and there is usually crowds inside whenever I visit(dinner time only). Plenty of people from families having a meal to workers having a drink and meetup before heading home. Parking is not a problem. Located at the Kingstowne Town Center. Their wait staff has been very helpful, polite, accommodating, and flexible on each visit, especially when I arrived with BIG groups. One time we got an opportunity to talk with the owner during a weeknight dinner. She was very welcoming and engaging in conversation. On weekend nights after 8 or 8:30 pm, there is usually a musician or two singing of course an Irish song or ballad. One day I will actually get a burger here. A hearty 4.5 stars out of 5

I have been waiting to come back and give Fiona’s a real try for awhile! I thought, ‘why not go on St Pattys Day! No one else will have that idea!’ Bad call. To say Fiona’s gets packed on St Pattys Day is an understatement. From people tightly squeezed into the outdoor patio, to people PILED into the main restaurant, we could barely get a foot in the door for dinner service on St Pattys. They were calling a 2 hour wait for any type of seating. Pass. I guess that’s what I get for trying to go to the lone Irish bar in the suburbs on St Pattys day. But that intrigued me enough to return on Sunday that weekend when things had died down. While they ARE kid-friendly, they don’t have any crayons or paper for kids to draw on. That would be my only recommendation, as their kids menu is otherwise pretty great. What is also great is that fantastic craft beer menu. Wow. I haven’t seen such a selective and unique beer list like that at even some nice bars I’ve been to, Yardhouse being the exception. They have so many labels, particularly bottled, and on top of that, our server was extremely knowledgeable about pretty much every single beer. Extra points for knowledgeable, friendly and prompt wait staff. We had to try to the signature cornflake-crusted baked brie that Unilocalers rave about. Served with bread and green apple slices, this was such a pleasant surprise at an Irish restaurant! Delicious, complex and perfect texture. Do not miss this appetizer! For dinner, I had to try the Rueben! It was pretty great but I gotta say, I think I’m finally burnt out on ruebens. Hanging that up for now. My bf tried the shepherds pie and thought it was decent(there was something, like a pea purée substance in there giving it a gritty texture he wasn’t a fan of), and my kids loved their burger and grilled cheese kids meals. Overall, everything was great here. High entertainment value; friendly & knowledgeable wait staff; and some serious authentic and quality food. This could be great for a family-friendly place with the kids or a date night. Either way, Fiona’s is one of the best restaurants in Kingstowne, hands down.

While I enjoy this as a local watering hole the food is lacking . Went here for an impromptu lunch with the girlfriend, and was excited to find a place that has Irish fare close to the house . I ordered the bangers and mash she ordered scotch eggs. My plate came out with cold mash that had been warmed up in the microwave probably. The scotch eggs seemed to fall apart and were ok at best. I wish the food was better quality . Service was good and the bar is clean and well stocked . If you want better Irish food I would go to somewhere in Alexandria . I will go back for drinks only at this place.

Like this place but think it is good not great. Some food items are very good, service is good but overall value is just average. Portions are very large but so are the prices for slightly better than bar food. The place is nice and I typically enjoy it but just feel it too overpriced for what it is, an Irish restaurant.

I came here last night for a birthday party/dinner. Everything was great! The staff are very sweet and welcoming. They were able to accommodate our party of 14 in the back party room which was great. Let me just put this out there, I am not an expert at Irish food what so ever, the most Irish thing I’ve ever had was Jameson. I ordered the Bangers & Champ(or mash, I forgot) and I loved the Irish sausages and the gravy, I wasn’t too impressed with the champ(basically mashed potatoes), they were just a little too dry of my liking. But overall, different people ordered the pork chops, cod sandwich, salmon cakes, grilled cheese, etc and they all seemed to really enjoy their food. I would definitely come back, the staff alone are amazing and the food is great too!

Fiona’s is a neighborhood favorite for a pint and a burger or wings. It speaks volumes of the owner that he bar-backs for his bar tenders. Haley, one of the bar tenders, is super helpful and friendly. Make sure you get the wings«Haley’s way,» which is a combination of the sauces that will knock your socks off. The rest of the food is better than the typical bar fare, so don’t be afraid to grab a table and listen to the local artists that sometime play live there. We especially liked the curry dip that accompanied the fries. It’s more of a spiced gravy, but I really liked it. Beyond what is mentioned above, Fiona’s is what you would expect from a neighborhood Irish pub. You can have a Guiness, though my favorite is called a «BlackSmith,» which is like a Black & Tan, but Guiness mixed with Smithwicks instead of Bass. Either way, I highly recommend you give Fiona’s a shot. Be ready to relax, have a few laughs, and get to know the regulars.

Loved Fiona’s! My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner on my birthday(right after the enormous blizzard of ’16). Cozy atmosphere, very clean. The cornflake crusted brie appetizer was amazing. I had the chicken pie, which was perfect the perfect post-blizzard comfort food, and my boyfriend loved the reuben. Attentive service, and I even got a free birthday dessert — our server saw the date on my ID when I was carded for my drink. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Guinness barbecue wings… Yum! I haven’t gotten anything bad, and the service is great. We have tried the fish and chips, shepherds, and Guinness stew. All are exceptional and the wait staff is great! Joe will take great care if you. They also have a good selection of whiskey and scotch, and your fave Irish beers! But, it’s a little pricey, the trade off for good food I guess…

Very good. very fresh. I’m not sure why this place wasn’t packed because the food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was clean and felt upscale. The kids meals were healthy and large. I ordered the shepherds pie. It was HUGE and delicious. We got the brie appetizer which was really fresh and satisfying. My husband ordered the liver entrée. Not my style, but he said it was really good.

Great Irish pub which offers all the fare you would find on a menu in Ireland. My favorite is Bangers and Mash. The Irish sausage is real Irish. The Resturant is new and offers a large patio, TV screens, and a private room. There is live entertainment on certain nights and events. They celebrate St Patrick’s day twice a year for gosh sakes. The bar is inviting and the staff are pleasant. It’s cleaner and newer than Irish pubs in town and parking is free and abundant.

Stopped in the other day, and I was pleasantly surprised by the décor; this pub boasts a inviting bar and clean lines throughout the restaurant. Although Fiona’s is relatively new, it has a feel as if it has been here for years. The only complaint that I have about the décor is that the bathrooms are located down a long narrow corridor that the waitstaff also uses to come to and from the kitchen. As I made my way bar to the restaurant, a waiter almost plowed into me with a tray for of dirty dishes… It is only a matter of time before this awkward design results in someone wearing a Shepard’s Pie. However, the rest of the place is grand. I ordered a Guinness of course and it was a proper pint and as good as any that I’ve had poured in Ireland. I only had the curry chips, but they were delicious and made me long for Ireland. Although I didn’t have anything else, I did scan the menu, and I was intrigued by many of its dishes which certainly look like a step up form the fare of your average Irish Pub… The Shepard’s Burger is really calling my name. Oh, and let’s not forget the mussels. Yum! Yup, Fiona’s Pub is going to require a few more visits before this Unilocaler finally settles on a ratting, but for now, it is a solid four stars.
