Everytime I get food from here it is excellent! Prepared quickly and it’s always inexpensive.

This place is a gem. It’s convenient to Foxchase. Delivery is $ 1.00. I could walk, but why when I can just wait 30 minutes. Sounds lazy but I’d rather not cross Duke St. The Crab Ragoons and General Tso’s are delicious. Crispy chicken and huge portions. Great value. — the restaurant itself is a hole in the wall.

Bottom line up front: I drive across Alexandria to pickup my Chinese food from here. No other place in Alexandria gives you more for your dollar — every to go container is jam-packed. Full Review: Restaurant: This spot is a hole in the wall — truly. It’s not very large inside — there are a few counter seats available, but that’s it. In back looks even smaller, and I give immense props to the employees that work their takeout wizardry in a tiny kitchen to make magic happen. The parking lot can be dicy — I don’t know why, but it always seems like there is someone backing out in a completely reckless way, and there can be people begging outside the 711 next door. Food: …but you came here to hear about the food. I have never ordered from Good Luck and not felt like I was given enough to eat. Granted, I always order too much, but they also pack the to go containers to the brim. One thing I get irritated about with other restaurants is feeling like my chicken with broccoli, General Tso’s, or sesame chicken isn’t saucy enough. I’ve had dry chicken with broccoli around Alexandria — who wants that?! This is never the case with Good Luck. A few things I’ve tried and loved: — Chicken Lo Mein — General Tso’s — Sesame Chicken — Steamed Dumplings — Chicken & Pork Fried Rice — Chicken & Broccoli — Sweet and Sour Chicken — Eggrolls One tips: if you want duck sauce, you’re going to have to ask for it. Also, they’re pretty quick. You may want to confirm what time it will be done for pick-up. If they say 10 — 15 minutes, confirm — «Ok, so I’ll see you at 7:30.» Everything stays warm, but if you’re like me, you like your Chinese food fresh and hot! Enjoy!

If this review were based on delivery service alone, I would give them 5 stars! But I have done carry out with them before and it’s a little bit hectic in the store. I love Good Luck, though. These guys are amazing at what they do – they make amazing food and the delivery is fast and friendly. If you’re looking for some good Chinese delivery, I recommend Good Luck!

I have ordered from these guys for delivery half a dozen times now I would say. There are not many people near my location that deliver for some reason, so this is usually just my standard go-to. They never put in the chopsticks or extra sauce when asked, but at least they are relatively prompt with delivery time. I don’t adore the food, it taste like any other location, but it is a safe choice to make on a whim when you aren’t sure who to try for the first time.

Quality Chinese food delivery spot! Food was fresh and hot. Delivered super quick being that I’m right down the street. Literally took 15 min to receive. All items ordered were really tasty. I recommend the sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak and wonton soup!

I ordered take out from here because I was staying at a nearby hotel. I ordered from here because of the ranking on Unilocal and because they had shrimp toast. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. My food, though it was supposed to be spicy, wasn’t. The shrimp toast was greasy as heck and the crab Rangoon had a strange taste to it and was mostly wonton. I was really disappointed and wish that I would have ordered form elsewhere. I ended up spending $ 25 and throwing out more than half of it.

Just moved to the Alexandria area and was in the mood for Chinese. The reviews on Unilocal all point to Good Luck as *the* best delivery in the area. So I rolled the dice and YUM. We ordered the won ton soup, pu pu platter, cashew chicken, and combo fried rice. Everything was great, but the won ton soup was outstanding — really flavorful broth and tender tasty dumplings. So good. Looking forward to ordering from them on a regular basis. One note– they deliver to a wider area than as listed on the Eat24/Yelp website; call them directly to confirm whether they deliver to your home.

Fast delivery and friendly staff. Food came steaming hot. Ordered the shrimp w/broccoli combo and beef w/broccoli, both were tasty and fresh! Perfect portions for lunch. Will definitely be my go to Chinese spot for ordering in.

So after a long day running around town, me and a friend decided we wanted chinese delivery. We went thru Unilocal and read good review after good review for Good Luck, so we said, all these Unilocalers cant be wrong, let’s order from there! Delivery fee $ 1.00, not too shabby. Ordered online using , arrived within 40 minutes, not bad for a Saturday evening. We ordered Egg drop Soup, Egg Rolls, Pepper Steak with Onion and Hunan Twins(chicken and shrimp)… Egg rolls were the best part of this meal. Tasty, adequate filling and actual mini shrimp amongst the rest of the filling. .did need soy sauce, but pretty tasty. Egg drop Soup did not have alot of eggs or taste, very bland. Extremely stingy with the crunchy noodles you’re supposed to add to the soup, we could’ve used more since we split the soup. Needed salt and pepper also. Pepper Steak with onions pretty tasty. Good proportion of veggies to beef. Rice came with entrée, of which you can order a small or large portion. Hunan Twins not spicy at all. Alot of chicken, very little shrimp or veggies. Sauce was thick and jelly-like at times as if it sat too long, or too much binder was used and the sauce turned into jelly gravy, lol… not delicious to my palate. Both entrees needed help from soy sauce. Thank goodness for Soy Sauce. I most likely won’t order from Good Luck again. Not sure if it was an off day for them or if my expectations are too high… nonetheless, lesson learned.

It’s called«good luck,» which we were nervous about, but we ended up being pleasantly surprised. Sesame chicken and MGGP were spot on. Fried rice was tasty, we chose because they don’t offer brown rice. The hot and sour soup is a red variety, similar to PF Changs, with a good amount of tofu. Price was probably the best part. Definitely recommend for quick, good Chinese take out!

This place is pretty awesome for the proximity and the costs of food. Since I grew up in a Chinese restaurant, courtesy of mom and dad, this place is as close to home without a three hour drive. The food isn’t a salt bomb so your body won’t hate you the next morning, too. Highly recommended!

I have never had Chinese food taste this good. So honest. They don’t pack a lot of food in the container like I’m use to but it was filling I didn’t notice. We are visiting so we got delivery. It was very quick and no hassle. Definitely would eat here again.

Ordered food from here the first night in our new apartment and were not disappointed. The food was flavorful with just the right amount of spice and came much more quickly than we were told it would. The delivery driver was very pleasant. Will definitely order from here again. Oh, and the extra charge for fried rice is totally worth it.

I order from Good Luck at least once a month because it’s so convenient to have it delivered to my work. Every order is delivered in carefully packaged containers. There has never been something taken out of the bag sticky or spilled. I usually get a soda with my meal and it is always ice cold. My food arrives piping hot and sooooo good. I get the orange chicken or the chicken lo mein most often. They are great about switching out the egg roll for a spring roll if I get the meal(due to allergies). Speaking of allergies though, I have never had a reaction from anything I’ve eaten here. Some places, I have to specifically ask them to wash all of their utensils due to my shellfish allergies. Even though I’ve only had delivery, I know they take care to not cross-contaminate their food. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant!

Just had them deliver me some lunch to my job. I have to say that The Beef Lo Mein and the teriyaki chicken(4) is the best. My office has been looking for a good place to order Chinese food from, and it looks like we found one. The delivery was quick, and the food was still hot. I will admit that I had to walk outside to get the food. I wish that he came in to the front desk. Other then that. The food is pretty good.

My new go to place. Dad is a chef from HK for 30 years, this place has great food and good service(which doesn’t exist at Chinese places normally). Food is still burn-your-tongue hot when it arrives and portions are huge. Prices are below average(i.e. chow fun and singapore noodle is normally $ 10 everywhere else between $ 7.50 and $ 8.25 here). Both the lady at the front and the delivery guy are super nice. A bit irritated with some of the bad reviews. As a former small business owner, you need to realize your reviews mess with people’s livelihoods. If you give the lowest possible score you best have a reason, other than being entitled: I’m sorry your husband thought the beef teriyaki was only OK, maybe he should grow two brain cells and not order Japanese food at a Chinese place next time. And I’m sorry you’re mad they upped the delivery minimum from $ 10 to $ 15, ever wonder what it’s like to be a family owned business? Would YOU want to pay someone to drive 30 mins to and back from someone’s house for an $ 8 order? Deal with it, get a girlfriend or something. Don’t take it out on hard working immigrants with a great restaurant.

Not often that I away from Unilocal hivemind but my opinion of the Good Luck Chinese food take out resturant on Jordan st is way off from the norm. My wife and I don’t do Chinese take out often, but when we do, we really hate to be disappointed. We were not looking for anything special, and in fact it was more the disappointments that lead to the low rating than anything else. My favorite take out food is by and far General Tso’s chicken. It’s simple, easy, little spice, a little sweet and fried chicken. Not too hard to screw up right? Even better if the place you’re eating at knows how to throw together some great fried rice. Unfortunatly Good Luck fell way short. As far as the actual chicken piece of General Tso chicken, it was decent. Like I said, a little spicy and little sweet, it’s not too hard to screw up. Sadly enough, the order came with no peppers, no broccoli, nothing but chicken and sauce. I ordered the fried rice. Normally with fried rice you get a little vegetable, even if they are normally frozen vegetables, there is something. Here, I got nothing. A burnt taste on my fried rice(probably cooked in the same soy sauce my wifes lo mein was cooked in). Springrolls were basically just pastry rolled into a tight ball. So few veggies there was no taste to them, no dipping sauces, nothing. My wife said that her Lo mein tasted like pure soy suace. Bad showing.
