Pretty good, several good rolls we tried and loved all of them. Great location just a walk from the Potomac. Friendly staff and super clean. For the rolls we got salmon love, several serving of salmon sashimi, and a few other rolls. The only feedback I have is that some of the rolls the salmon was not as cold and in sushi a little chilled salmon works better also the amount of salmon on the salmon love roll was a little on the smaller side.

Ichiban may be placed in a touristic area, but don’t be mistaken because they are the best sushi restaurant in town. I have been there regularly since the past 5+ years and they never disappoint. The sushi is fresh, tasty, and the portion of fish in the rolls is generous. Ichiban remains my reference at each time I eat sushis elsewhere.

This is a case of don’t judge a book by its cover. With decent prices and quick, nice service, I was pleased with the sushi appetizer(named the Hairy Mexican Roll, no joke, and very tasty) and my ~$ 12 spicy miso chicken ramen. The egg was really yummy in it, along with the bok choy. It’s not the best ramen I’ve ever had because the chicken wasn’t as tasty as other meats I’ve had in my ramen, including my dining companion’s pork belly this time around around. However, the spice was just perfect with the right amount of noodles and broth to slurp up. Yum.

I love the spicy miso pork ramen. The pork is so tender and delicious, it just melts in your mouth.

Atmosphere: Nothing special, pretty basic. Food: Really good Ramen and Sushi, also the chicken katsudon is amazing. We always went here for the sushi and then they started doing Ramen and we love the Ramen. Many different options for both the Ramen and Sushi. Service: Always great service, everytime we eat there they make sure we really enjoyed the food. We have never ordered one of the huge platters of sushi either but always wanted to just because of the plating. They make it look really cool(plated on big boat«dishes», lights, and floral type decorations).

Ramen is okay. The broth was good; however could have been hotter(temperature wise) and I preferred more soup. Tempura…wouldn’t order again. The batter wasn’t crispy and was chewy. Sushi…meh…felt like sushi I made at home. Lacked flavor and both my rolls tasted the same. I would go back here only for the ramen(asking for more soup and at a hotter temperature) or the Udon.

I ate in at this restaurant once and was quite happy with the food and service. The ambiance is nothing special, but what it does have is lots of seating, so you probably won’t have to wait for a table. I have also ordered from them via EAT24 once and the sushi was just as good, if not better. It includes the usual suspects and nothing out of the ordinary, but what they offer is delish. The pieces aren’t huge, but they are tender and flavorful. When it comes to sushi, size is not what I care about, but deliciousness and no stringy pieces of fish. This sushi fits the bill perfectly. The delivery took over an hour, though. It was a Thursday night. The driver was apologetic. It wouldn’t stop me from ordering delivery from them again. I’d just factor in a long delivery time.

I love Ichiban Sushi House and like how they also do quick delivery as well!!! it may not be Momo, but they are my second choice if I want fresh delivered sushi at your home!

The service was excellent and they were very friendly. I had the teriyaki beef and the meat was very tender and the flavor was perfect for teriyaki. I will be back to this restaurant.

Reasonable sushi in a prime location. Three and a half may be more accurate as you are definitely helping out with the rent. The pieces/sashimi were on the small side. As a visitor to the area, I might return; it scratches the sushi itch right near the water in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Rumor has it(i.e. other reviews) say there are other spots that may do it better; however, you will do well enough here.

Such an amazing place! My boyfriend and I go weekly! The staff is amazing and very personable, and the food is so incredible! The prices are out of this world! I’m allergic to avocado and had forgotten to ask them to remove it while ordering, and the waitress asked me if I wanted avocado since I usually remove it. It was so wonderful she remembered! If you are thinking about coming here just do it! You won’t be disappointed!

Great ramen and terrific service! The pork ramen in spicy miso was excellent and easily worth the price. It takes a little bit of time to prepare, but it is worth the wait. Sushi was well prepared, presented beautifully(even at lunch) and tasted fresh and flavorful. Service was very polite and professional, answering questions from our party completely and without rushing.

Prices are reasonable, food is excellent, and it is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever eaten in. It’s on the small side, which I like. I’ve never been to Japan, but I almost felt like I was there. Even their bathroom is gorgeous. There’s a dried bamboo curtain you walk past, and the bathroom has ceramic pieces, a wooden wall and flowers. I don’t think my descriptions do it justice. Last but not least, the people who run the restaurant are absolutely delightful. If you like sushi, this is your place.

Ask for the Ramen menu! Ive been here twice for ramen and definitely plan to go back whenever I need my ramen fix in old town. The restaurant is quaint with good service and located in the heart of King Street. I recommend the spicy miso ramen with pork! A coworker came with me the last visit and he loves their sushi.

The off-the-menu ramen with spicy miso broth is spot on. I ordered the chicken(and tofu) and thought the protein was fine, the broth and soy egg were incredible. As far as ramen in Old Town goes – this is as good as it gets.

Came in for happy hour on a Friday. The place is pretty small, but quaint. Service was a bit slow at first since the place was pretty full and only 2 people working the floor. I ordered sashimi and 2 maki rolls from the happy hour menu. Sashimi is $ 4 for 2 pc and maki rolls are $ 3.5 each. Get the sashimi!!! The amount of fish they cut is pretty substantial, the maki rolls were just okay. There was more avocado than salmon on the salmon avocado roll, but the crunchy spicy was good. I like how they don’t overkill it on the rice though. Their presentation was very pretty as well. I’d definitely return for more sashimi!

Can’t speak for their dinner menu as of yet, BUT their happy hour is AMAZING! In my opinion, the most flavorful and fresh rolls I’ve ever tasted in the DMV. I came solo and enjoyed ordering and watching the sushi chefs prepare my rolls and sake at the bar. Please try the salmon avocado and crunch spicy kani roll. My waiter was so kind as well as the other workers in the sushi house. This is a quiet and welcoming sushi bar only 2 blocks from the Waterfront. The goal is to try 1 new eatery each week on King St.

Coming from Hawaii and staying at the Gaylord, I started craving Japanese food. I found this cute little restaurant/sushi bar on Unilocal. I loved the location as it was on the main street and close to the pier. We drove over from National Harbor and found parking on the street. Lots of parking here. Food was delish. I ordered the Lunch Box L10. 3 California rolls, 3 gyozas, a scoop of rice and teriyaki steak. The Cali roll, I’m more used to having more rice with it, was refreshing. The gyozas was tasty. The teriyaki steak was ono(delicious) and tender. The grilled purple onions, carrots and broccoli underneath the teri steak added a nice and flavorful touch. I didn’t care for my scoop of rice as it was dry and hard. I normally like my rice a little wet and soft. Service was very attentive and pleasant.

Excellent! A friend in I stopped in around 7:30 on a Sunday night. I had their brand new Ramen dish and opted for the spicy miso base soup with chicken. It was so good! The noodles, egg and the bok choy were cooked perfectly. It also came with bean sprouts, seaweed and little pieces of corn. Yum! It wasn’t too spicy either. Next, I had a special roll called the rock and roll. It was deep fried and crunchy on the outside filled with cucumber and Tuna on the inside. It has a perfect amount of eel sauce and spicy mayo. My friend had the seaweed salad appetizer which was pretty big and delicious. Her miso soup was good too. She also had three special rolls: spicy salmon, Yama Yama, and some sort of crunchy spicy tuna roll with avocado. She said all were very tasty. The fish was all very fresh in all of our special rolls which is key at any sushi restaurant. Another plus was the service! The servers were very attentive and either the manager or owner kept checking on us making sure we enjoyed our meal. Another plus was a clean ladies restroom! We will definitely be back!
