Inova Health System

This is a review for the Inova Imaging Center in the Inova Healthplex — Franconia/​Springfield location. If you have doctors in the Inova network, it’s really convenient to get imaging done through one of the Inova outpatient centers since all the referral info goes through the same system and your primary care doctor can receive the test results right away. Not only do you get great continuity of care, it also means you don’t have to fill out a whole bunch of paperwork every time you go to a new doctor within Inova or to get labwork done.
As part of the yearly physical, it is recommended that women over the age of 50 receive a mammogram. That is what we used the Inova Imaging Center for. We received the referral order at the physical from our PCP in the morning and were able to schedule the mammogram the same day. The radiology center is located on the 1^st level of this facility (just make a left from the main entrance and look for the registration desk). It is a very clean facility with a large waiting area. There was virtually no wait time. The radiologist was very personable and set us at ease for the procedure. The whole process was very quick; it took about 5 – 10 minutes for the whole appointment. Results were available the next day to the PCP and they mail out an official paper result within a week of the procedure. Would definitely use this facility again for our other radiology needs.

Corrupt and untrustworthy. They are in bed with corporate medicine, will say that your insurance will be accepted, and then turn around and charge you as if you have no insurance.

The diagnostic/​imaging/​radiology department at this place has gotten way too crowded. It takes 20min after your appointment time before they even check you in! Checking in means just getting you to fill out the paper work, so you have to wait at least another half hour to do the test. They give you a pager to call you when they are ready to check you in. What the hell is this? Cheesecake factory? This is a ridiculous waste of time. I had to cancel two appointments while waiting for them.
