These guys are better than I deserve at customer service! I tell them I have an issue and then make them track me down to resolve it. To my delight, they do so, and are impressively efficient at the resolution. And, if they don’t need me to help resolve the issue they just take over my computer by remote and let me get other work done. In short, they’re great to work with.

MAC has come through twice for me with fantastic results. The first time, I destroyed my HP laptop with a glass of water and MAC recovered the data in a few hours. The second visit was to move my iTunes and other files from an ancient G4 to my PowerBook after my repeated attempts failed. They did in just a couple of hours. I walked in both times and they happily accommodated. I’m very happy with the service. Although their prices initially seemed a bit high($ 150 base for each job), it’s all relative — I spent way more in my time and buying a FireWire /thunderbolt cable and adapter on the ITunes transfer. If you value your time and data, go to the experts at MAC(and use the Unilocal deal!).

Will was great in sitting down with me and simplifying an overly complex e-mail system with multiple accounts and e-mail aliases. It took three hours and I paid the corresponding consulting fee but it fixed something I had been struggling with for a long time. I was very impressed with his knowledge and would highly recommend his company.

I dropped my iPhone and the screen stopped working — not shattered, and the phone still worked through Bluetooth, but … no light. Of course, it was 4:30 pm, and I figured I was doomed until the following work day. I decided to call Mid-Atlantic Computer Solutions(or «MACS», how appropriate!) largely because of their convenient location and being open until 6pm. I’m very glad I did. Will popped open my phone and within 30 minutes I left with it working again. Yay!

My MacBook Pro had an unfortunate run-in with some iced tea. The beverage won. I just brought my totally dead MacBook in to MACS, and Will is my new hero.(My dead computer held the only versions of some extremely important family photos!) Will removed my hard drive, moved my data onto an external hard drive, and got me all my data back in under 10 minutes. He’s keeping my computer to see if it can be resuscitated — he says he can usually do it for about half what the Apple store quoted me($ 1500). And while I waited, he set me up on the shop’s Arcade game so I could play Asteroids. I will absolutely trust MACS to help with my computers in the future.

This company was such a great find for me. Will, the owner, really knows his stuff. He’s very honest and straight forward. I recently took a busted iPad to him, and he was very honest about my options for repairing it. Since there was a good chance that it was not fixable, he offered to buy it from me for a fair price, which I accepted. If any of my apple products need repairs in the future, I will definitely take them here!

I’d give 10 stars if I could! Will and his team of MACgicians S-A-V-E-D me! I’ve always been a PC user and recently decided to join this century and purchased a MacBook Air(which I LOOOOOVE, incidentally). I had it just about three weeks before it had a major accident… a rendered unusable sort of accident that I can hardly speak of without getting mad all over again. I thought it was not salvageable. I ran to the Apple Store in tears asking for guidance, and oh how they steered me wrong. They recommended a place called Kroll Ontrak way down I66. I drove out there with my machine and left it with them for three days to «analyze it,» for which they charged me $ 65. They called me back once it had been brought back from«the clean room,» whatever that is, and told me that they had taken the liberty of beginning the downloading process. I thought that was all really considerate until they gave me the quote for this service. And I choked on it. It wasn’t much really; they only wanted my mercedes and my first born child. And there was no room for negotiation. None. So I took back my computer, paid them for their so called analysis, and was on my merry way. I turned to Unilocal and found MACS in Alexandria — what a stroke of luck that turned out to be! I called and spoke to Will(the owner). I told him about the fate that had befallen my beloved MacBook Air and his response was, «no problem, bring it in.» He was able to salvage everything: years and years worth of files, some new software I had purchased and coincidentally lost the disks for, all my emails, bookmarks and photos! On top of all that, he was able to then file it all away properly on my new MacBook Air. There were no «clean rooms» and there weren’t any sort of mysterious processes like Kroll Ontrak had described to me. The best part was that he didn’t want my car or my kid, just $ 125. SO, so reasonable. Later that day I had logged in to my new computer and remembered a question I had meant to ask him about something else unrelated. I called and he offered to fix it for me by logging into my computer remotely using TeamViewer(my old company used to use that software so I was comfortable with this – I know how it works). Talk about customer service! It wasn’t even related to the original problem, it was just a question about a functionality on my computer. He just whizzed right around on it and fixed it with no effort. He also pointed out a great mac tutorial site to me so I could learn how to use my computer more effectively. SONICE! I will not hesitate to use Mid Atlantic Computer Solutions again in the future. They are GREAT!!!

So the other day I broke off my headphone jack in my Macbook Pro. I called Mid-Atlantic and they told me they should be able to fix it. I dropped off my Macbook and, after examining my situation, they told me it was going to be risky if they tried their options. They said it could work or damage my logic board and that if it didn’t work they wouldn’t charge me. Well, in the end, they saved my computer for a VERY small fee compared to replacing logic board. Even if their solution hadn’t worked, the people were super friendly, professional, and efficient which made the overall experience a pleasure!

I was in a panic when the Mac had trackpad problems. They were able to diagnose, give a cost estimate, order the part and make sure I knew a workaround until then. Quick turn around, good communications, and friendly. This is a find!
