Monterey’s Pizza

I’ve loved this place for 2.5 years and regularly convinced my husband to pay their higher prices because I loved their pizza. However, in the last month or so the quality of their pizzas has slipped. Our order has been wrong twice and this past week when I asked why there was a higher than expected price I was told there is now a delivery charge. The person I was on the phone with asked someone in the background who said «don’t tell them about the delivery charge». Dishonesty and deceit are not business practices I support. I do not plan to ever order from them again.

Solid pizza, friendly staff, well priced, and always delivered in under 40 minutes. What else could you ask for on a Friday night.
Highly recommend for those nights you don’t want to cook!

I’m a pizza snob but this spot is great. The online ordering process is a breeze and the buffalo chicken pizza is delicious. The custom pizza ordering process is also a breeze. The crust is uniquely light but still holds a solid slice. Thumbs up also for delivery being less than 40 minutes during peak hours on the weekend. Good stuff. Will order from here regularly.

So, the girlfriend and I are newish to the area. We thought that maybe there was a better option than PJ, PH or D. We like supporting small businesses. So we looked up «pizza delivery» on here. We made the choice to go with Monterey’s Pizza based on the reviews. We were right to do so. We ordered off their website which couldn’t have been easier. The pizza showed up in 23 minutes. It was very delicious. Their topping selection is killer. We are vegetarians and there are tons of options for us. The delivery driver was very nice as well. Their prices are a little high, which is why i’m giving 4 stars rather than 5. But aside from that, we have no complaints. We are going to order from them again.

Pizza was fairly greasy, and nothing special. Not terrible but not sure how the restaurant garnered so many positive reviews. With the other options in the area I won’t be back here.

Pretty good delivery pizza. Open later than many places which is nice. Menu is large and delivery time is never bad.

Awful pizza, overpriced, delivery takes over an hour and they forget parts of your order. Need I continue?
The pizza was cold, which makes sense because it takes so long to get to you. The pizza had a weird metal take which I certainly didn’t appreciate. It’s impossible to have a good slice of pizza in this area, virtually impossible.

Our go-​to delivery pizza place for Arlington/​Alexandria. We like it better than Paisano’s and definitely more than Dominos. It’s never disappoints! Give it a try. Nelson is the nicest!

Food is bomb. Got a small pizza with pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeños. The cheese breadsticks were to die for and the side salad was perfect. The only reason I can’t give them 5 stars is because the napkins, forks, and plates I asked for were not provided. Being that I am on vacation and in a hotel, those were pretty necessary. Other than that… Food is awesome, prices were great, and delivery was quick!

Finally found a decent pizza since moving from NY. It was very convenient for my husband to pickup on the way home from work (its right on route 1). They have a large gourmet pizza selection. They have more of a commercial, conveyor belt oven but that’s fine with us. I prefer consistency over «authentic brick oven.» We went with the 2 lg gourmet special. My husband got buffalo chicken, which comes with a side of bleu cheese. He said it was very good but a bit spicy, so I did not try it myself. I got the General Santo which was spinach, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and goat cheese. It was pretty good. The toppings kind of came off in one bite on mine but that’s ok. The crust was sturdy. Overall it was delicious and we will certainly be trying them again!

This review is based on the pizza I always get, they almost always have a special for a 3 topping medium, I find that without the special /​coupon it’s pricey, but that does not factor in for me because they always have it.
I get Pineapple, fresh Mozzarella, and Basil. It’s the best pizza I have ever had. I always ask them not to cut it because I like to cut it when it arrives and they always listen.
Add on 2 of their really good choclete chip cookies and man I’m full. They are quick, and the drivers are always VERY nice, like above and beyond nice, they really represent the place well.
Really like this place.

We just got the DC and wanted something quick and easy. We ordered a large margarita pizza and a Greek salad and the bill came to $ 32! A bit pricey if you ask me and it wasn’t stellar, for that price I would be expecting something a bit more.

Oh my goodness. Had wings, pizza, and cannolies from here tonight. It was fabulous. The food was wonderful. The delivery was fast. Our delivery guy forgot our drinks and even though I told him not to worry about them he still came back with them shortly. I am so happy we decided to order in tonight. Very yummy. Thank you!

Fast delivery and friendly service! We love the pizza and calzones, but I also love the chicken Caesar salad. I can pay online or over the phone, and the pizza is always delivered so fast. Perfect for late nights for conversation and laughter, without having to get in a car.

I’ve ordered from them multiple times and speaking as a ny/​nj transplant, it’s a solid 3.5 stars, sometimes 4. It is in my opinion the best take out place in the area. They are generous with toppings which are always fresh. I don’t rank it higher because I lve had better sauce up north. I’ve given them five stars because their customer service is top notch. The one time I had a slight error they immediately owned up to it and rectified the error. I credit the man behind the register for this. Service is always quick and reliable as well. If you want good pizza, on time and without mistakes this is the best place in the area.

The pizza here is mediocre at best. But the customer service is absolutely abysmal. I’ve ordered delivery from multiple times, and have had nothing but problems. Late delivery, incorrect orders that they refused to rectify. The list goes on. I won’t be giving this restaurant another chance.

It’s my favorite meal ever, ever… I’m from Massachusetts (where we have great pizza) and I’ve been around the country and the world where I’ve tried many, MANY different types and styles of pizza… some have been horrible… but I never once put a piece of pizza down and refused to take another bite.
That is, until tonight.
This was the most God awful pizza I have ever tried. It was a simple cheese pizza… it made me gag. Just awful. Seriously… just horrible.

Never been disappointed when ordering Monterey’s. My husband and I usually get a large pizza with sopresetta on top. The pizza always arrives on time, hot, and delicious. Great value!

This is my favorite pizza place in town!
The cheese pizza with aged Vermont cheddar cheese is just omg beyond so yummy.
The bread sticks are also oh so yummmmm.
It’s a bit more pricey but worth it.

I ordered a large thin-​crust pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese for delivery to our hotel. The online ordering service was easy as pie, and I quickly got an email with expected delivery time.
The delivery guy brought our pizza in a reasonable amount of time, but didn’t bring any napkins, which seems like a no-​brainer when delivering to a hotel. No red pepper or parmesan either. I would have happily overlooked both of these if the pizza were great, but it wasn’t.
Their idea of «thin-​crust» is not the crispy cracker-​like crust you might find elsewhere, but closer to a chewy hand-​tossed crust that didn’t taste very fresh. Their idea of «extra cheese» would pretty much be normal cheese at other pizza places. The pizza was warm but not hot. The slices weren’t cut all the way through — an inconvenience when you’re staying at a hotel without utensils to help finish the job. It was the smallest, lightest «large» pizza I have ever ordered anywhere — so if you’re hungry err on the side of a bigger pizza. Overall, it was OK but I’d try somewhere else next time.
