Overcharged me and said that«if I don’t specifically ask for the special, they charge the higher price because the franchisee’s get mad.» Pizza took 40 minutes for carry out because the 1 guy working there was busy taking orders and couldn’t start the pizza, the other guy was too busy sitting in his truck smoking cigarettes and listening to profanity ridden music with the windows open. Bizarre experience. Worth driving to vocellis in Arlington which is great.

I have been staying near this place for almost six months and haven’t visited until today. There are lots of negative reviews… mainly dealing with customer service. I got a large chicken bbg take out pizza today. It took twenty minutes and was a very good pizza for a descent price. The two guys in there are not the most outgoing or friendly but I could care less. The pizza seemed o. k and I would get pizza here again.

Never ordering from here again! My boyfriend and I ordered two pastas — while he was chewing his chicken Alfredo pasta he noticed something wasn’t right. He then pulled a rubber band out of his mouth that was INSIDEOFTHEPASTA! I called and the best thing they could do for me was«send another order.» I wanted a refund. I will never order from here again.

I went to Vocelli Pizza to pick up a pizza and breadsticks and, redeem a Groupon on 8÷2÷15. I am somewhat familiar with the Vocelli brand since, there is one close in a neighborhood I frequent regularly. I did not know about this location in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. It is a carry out place only. I didn’t see anywhere for you to sit down. The pizza wasn’t piping hot but it was cold either(like some other Unilocalers have experienced). In other words, the best way to describe their food is average but overall satisfying. One of major complaints about the Vocelli brand is its slight inconsistent(so don’t base this review on others you may want to try). For instance, the Vocelli’s I had been to before the 1 in Del Ray had a thick crust whereas the pizza I had from the Vocelli’s in Del Ray was thin crust. I didn’t see a place online to differentiate between the 2 different styles when I ordered from the Del Ray location so I think it depends on where you go. Vocelli’s sauce is consistent. In a nutshell, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to the Vocelli’s in Del Ray if I happened to be in the area but it is not pizza I would«write home about».

The only person who could help me with everything was Dennis, even the managers were rude and not trying to resolve my problems. They should learn costumer service from Dennis, he was very nice and helpful.

Very disappointed with the customer service. My pizza was suppose to arrive about 1 hour ago, I called then they told me there was a hold up because they received another order from the same apartment complex, so they held my delivery until the next order was ready. When I got my food, everything was cold…

I had a very bad experience with this location. I had difficulty using their online site to make a purchase. When I called the store to seek assistance I was told it was not their problem and inferred that I was doing something wrong on their site. When I asked for additional clarification, they hung up on me. The pizza is okay, but their customer service stinks.

I love their pizza. its crispy in the right places, cheesy, and the crust is just as good. I’ve never had an issue with their customer service, always accomodating.

By far the most disappointing vocellis franchise. The pizza is still very tasty when made the way you ordered(which is exceedingly rare from this particular place), but the staff is unbearably rude and unprofessional. I am not giving up on vocelli as a whole but this particular location will never receive my business again.

I am very impressed with the customer service from Vocelli Pizza. I was hungry and I wanted something different so thats why i chose vocellis. The chicken alfredo, chicken sub, and meatball marinara was so good. I ususally dont like ordering pasta from fast food places because it taste plain and all of them are the same. But I was very satisfied with the pasta that vocelli pizza makes. As for the chicken sub I was a little skeptical about ordering it because usually when I order chicken subs its very dry and the chicken is dry and its not good at all. The chicken sub from vocelli pizza is moist, the cheese is nice and melted, veggies are cold and crisp, and the bread was warm and toasted. I will definetly be ordering from here again! Not to mention the person who took my order was friendly, and not rude like other pizza joints. My food came in a timely manner I didnt have to wait long at all.

The delivery guy speaks no English and had no idea how to find my apartment. He called me six times and just kept repeating«I’m outside,» but couldn’t answer me when I asked«where.» Fun times. He somehow figured it out on his own and delivered the food after an hour. The pepperoni rolls were fine; the chicken Alfredo was AWFUL. uncooked chicken in a few places, watery sauce, and no taste.

My sister and I ordered from them last week. I had the Chicken Carbonara and she had the Hawaiian, all for only $ 20 with their Free Pizza Wednesday’s. I can only speak for myself, but my pizza was excellent. The delivery came a lot faster than I expecting and everything was piping hot. I will definitely order from them again!

Receive a menu from this place in my mailbox and decided to calle them. when they ask for my information and address they gave another phone number because they don’t deliver to this address which I found stupid because I had the flyer in my mailbox. I calles the number they gave me(703÷312−8855) the other guy ask for my information and told me the exact same thing and I explain him what the other person told me. then this person ask me for a second time my address and YELLED at me telling me to spell my address correctly in a GROTESQUE manner. Decided to hang the phone and throw the menu away. Worst customer service I receive in a long time. Would not recommend them.

This place sucks. Plain and simple. The«General Manager» told me if I didn’t like the service that my pregnant wife and I got(i.e. 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes… you get the idea) after just moving into the neighborhood from Old Town that we could take our business elsewhere. After 1.5 hours, a horrible cold pizza arrived. I was told my money would be refunded, but it has not been. I even tipped the delivery guy because I figured it wasn’t his fault. Final words of the General Manager, «Don’t order from us again.» Wow. Welcome to the neighborhood. Should have stayed in Old Town. You, again, suck Vocelli. Go out of business and do the neighborhood a favor.

Previously… we had been Vocelli Del Ray’s most loyal customers hands down. We have told everyone to order from here, we forgive their little mistakes, and we have ordered maybe once every week and a half for the last 3 years. Today… actually, about 15 minutes ago, they dropped the ball unlike any other time before and they have lost some loyal customers. We ordered a pizza at 5:59 via internet… at 6:19, it said it was out for delivery. At 7:21, we called the shop to check on our order. Surely, at this point if our pizza IS in fact out for delivery, it’s cold and probably not going to be enjoyable to eat. The kid that answers the phone tells us our pizza was delivered. That’s cool, just tell your customer they are wrong, it’s not like we support your business. We explained that’s not possible and the kid tells us it was delivered and the delivery guy confirmed it. We asked how this was possible and he told us the delivery guy confirmed we «signed for it» and he gave us our pizza. We told the kid we didn’t sign for anything because we had chosen the cash option. He put us on hold three times to ask his obviously delirious delivery guy more questions. LISTENTOTHECUSTOMER. There is nothing more that you need to understand about this situation other than the fact that your delivery guy is seriously confused. If he dropped off the pizza, he would’ve had the cash to prove it. Considering he didn’t, obviously the pizza was not delivered. We have dealt with Vocelli’s slew of incompetent delivery guys for years and because they offer a decent pie, we continued to brush off the little things that may have effected their service. Some of their delivery guys are awesome, some obviously high, some more confused than you could possibly believe and believe me, after 4 years, we’ve met quite a few of them. Anyway, the guy on the phone finally admits that there is «something weird» about our situation and he can send us out another pizza. He didn’t offer to give it to us for free, at a discount, or even ask us if there was anything else he could do to better our experience or to make up for their mistake. We had already been waiting an hour and a half and if I am going to rely on the last guy you sent out to deliver a pizza, we will pass. Very sad to say goodbye to my former favorite Del Ray pizza place.

Out of all the pizza this Chicagoan has tried in Virginia, this is the best. It isn’t perfect, but the gourmet pizza options are tasty. The crust has some good flavor and is softer than crunchy. I’ve had the buffalo chicken and the meat magnifico pizzas. I would recommend both, but the buffalo chicken is superior. It’s ranch-based with a good kick to it. The meat pizza has a slightly but not too sweet red sauce. I really hate sweet red sauce, but this just bordered being too sweet. If you’re looking for a good pizza delivery option I would definitely give one of their gourmet pizzas a try. Another option is to split the pizza(eg half buffalo, half steakhouse ranch) so you get a choice of different flavors.

Let me start by saying that it’s difficult to rate pizza in this area as everyone has different opinions in what is «good» and«great» when it comes to pizza. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and buffalo wings. This is standard when we are trying a pizza place for the first time. The pizza is decent, but it’s not something that had me thinking I’ll be ordering from there again. The wings were a total let down. My best advice is to try it for yourself and develop your own opinion.

I’m not sure why this place has bad reviews. It’s chain pizza and that being said it does the job very nicely.

The pizzas were great(gave them two chances), but their«delivery» is a JOKE. I literally live a mile away from this location — it is a STRAIGHTLINE to my place — and the driver got lost supposedly the first time. An hour to deliver one pizza, one mile away. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I gave them another try. Yet again, it took 60+ minutes to arrive. Unacceptable.

I was excited to learn that a Vocelli’s had recently opened up within walking distance of my apartment. The excitement, however, was short-lived. The food is decent. It’s a notch above the other chains in the area(Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Papa John’s), but a bit expensive. For the money you spend here you can get a much better pie from Monterey’s right down the street. Angelico’s is also better, in my opinion, and there’s one right around the corner. The real problem with this store is the time it takes to get your food. The first time I visited this place, I placed the order in person and waited for it. Bad idea as it took over an hour. So the second time I decided to place the order over the phone and I still had to wait there for 15 minutes; they told me the order would be ready in 45 minutes, I showed up after 40 minutes, and spent 20 minutes staring at the ceiling. (In case you’re wondering, I gave them another chance because I wanted to like them seeing as how they’re so close to me). They seem to suck at taking orders too. Both times I was in this place they got someone’s order wrong. I understand that a new store is going to have some difficulties starting out, but how hard can it be? There are too many pizza places in this area to have to settle for Vocelli’s. Unless you’re loyal to this chain, I highly recommend Monterey’s or Angelico’s.
