Food inspired with love and passion for cooking makes this specialty restaurant an A+. Again had a late lunch and ordered their Teriyaki Chicken drizzled with their yummy sauce(and surprisingly lots of veggies on the side) amazes me. Owner, Betty has a special heart for each of the customers and engage on wonderful conversation with them. She even offered me to taste their Kahlua Pork– it was so heavenly delicious ! This is such a blessed dining experience. God bless her heart! No, not yet, not over… But I ordered a short stack of Macadamia Nut Pancakes. The secret is in the sauce! Nobody can go wrong walking into this Hawaiian-inspired cooking. It is worth every bite and What a Hearty Lunch I have had!(Again.)

I’m so happy I stumbled upon this gem! I’m never in this area but might have to come back all the time now. We sampled the macadamia pancakes which lived up to all the hype!!! They were the perfect texture with amazing sauce. Can’t wait to go back for those. But I ordered the chicken katsu which was so yummy & crispy. It also came with rice, steamed veggies, and THEBEST macaroni/potato salad I’ve ever had! My bf had the aloha burger which was also delicious! So basically you can’t go wrong with anything here.

This is a nice, and comfortable place to come with family and friends. Nice place to come and eat and chill in a very relaxed environment. Staff is super nice, and will walk you through the menu if you have questions. Parking is good, large parking lot. Lots of seating for bigger groups. It is very hawaiian in its vibe. Food: — Their macadamia nut pancakes were amazing. Great sauce on top which really makes the dish, and crushed macadamias nuts. The sauce can be put on anything and you can order it on other breakfast dishes. — Chinese chicken salad — good and large amount. But it doesn’t stand out from other placed that have Chinese chicken salad. — Short ribs are very good. Cooked perfectly and good portion. but again it doesn’t stand out from other Hawaiian places. –Char siu pork was very good. Cooked down well, but a little oily, but its pork so what do you expect. They have everything you want from a Hawaiian place. Fried rice, noodles, burgers, huge menu. Good place, I would go back, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to here. Dragon Egg Approved.

The MOST addicting pancakes you will ever have in the 626, dare I say maybe the best in LA?! You literately don’t have to order anything else except the pancakes. It is the single most delicious thing here. Yes the food is pretty good here as well, frankly, you really just don’t need it in your life. But that pancake THOUGH… will definitely regret it if you don’t order it every visit. The pancakes are served moist, soft, and fluffy every single time. But the true secret the creamy syrup sauce with crumbled macadamia nuts. It’s velvety, sweet(but not too sweet), and just compliments the pancakes perfectly. Usually I come and order the Hawaiian breakfast with 2 items. 3 eggs, 2 choice of protein, and liberal amount of rice. I usually get the Portuguese sausage and the kalua pork. The sausages are chopped into bit size pieces, it is so perfect with fried eggs and rice. The kalua pork is smokey, soft, and savory. Probably best smoked pork around. Better than most BBQ places because it’s not dry. BOTTOMLINE: As good as the kalua pork may sound, it’s no comparison to the pancakes. One must be out of their mind to come here and not order the macadamia nut pancakes. Service is always good. Most definitely expect a wait during weekends for brunch or lunch. Oh and they got a ton of Hawaiian sodas on deck if you are into that kinda stuff. Trust me it’s worth the drive. Let me know how good it is after you’ve tried it.

Disclaimer: I’d probably give this place a solid 4 star review if I wasn’t on a low-carb diet. This place has been on my list of places to try. Unfortunately, due to my low-carb diet, I wasn’t able to try their famous macadamia pancakes, but there’s been enough reviews about those that I feel like I already know what they’ll taste like(living vicariously ftw!). We ordered the breakfast combo and the Lau Lau combo. For the breakfast combo, we got cha shu and loco moco. For the lau lau combo came with rice, vegetables, and Kalua pig. The Lau Lau sounded amazing when the waiter(great guy) described it, but when I actually tried it, I was sorely disappointed. My first thought about the Lau Lau was that it a distant cousin of the turducken… mutated. In case you can’t tell from the pictures, the Lau Lau is My favorite thing from all that we ordered was the cha shu; it had the most flavor. TIP: Don’t get the Lau Lau. Get the cha chu.

So glad I found this place!!! It was amazing! — Had the macadamia nut pancakes which were bomb!!! Wish there was more macadamia nuts though — had the curry with rice which was delicious. Was more like a gravy than curry. — had the teriyaki chicken bowl which was also delicious. Just needed a bit more teriyaki sauce. Would definitely eat here a second time!!!

My boyfriend and I have wanted to eat good Hawaiian’s food for ao long and finally we have the chance to eat here. I haven’t been to a lot of Hawaii restaurant but this place is definitely the best so far. We ordered a loco mock breakfast option which also included 3 eggs and rice, an order of spam musubi, and a small order of macadamia nut pancake. We regretted our decision right away when our food came out. Everything was so big. We should have just order 2 out of 3 dishes and we will be super full. In the end, we had to bring home half of the pancake and spam musubi order. Loco mono: extremely huge. The sauce was thick, creamy, and flavorful. The meat was OK but not dry PR hard. Macadamia pancake: small order came with two big stacks. They put each stack in separate plate so you can have more sauce. The pancake was soft, fluffy, buttery, and flavorful. The sauce was my favorite. It was so creamy and not too sweet. The crushed macadamia nuts went really well with the pancake and add a little kick to the whole dish. This is a must try. Spam musubi: nothing much to say. It was flavorful, decent portion, and has a good ratio between the rice and the spam. The service was really good and fast. After we finish our foods, a young man and an old lady came and asked us if we like the food. Yes, we liked it. They also kept thanking us for coming. We felt really welcome and happy. I would definitely come back to try out other dishes.

Another Unilocal Winner… Found this by chance and was pleasantly surprised as it met my «hole in the wall — not a chain restaurant» criteria. Food: must try the Macadamia Pancakes. What I liked about them was they were not overly sweet. The topping had the correct amount of airiness and sweetness that wasn’t overpowering. Prices: Reasonable and you still get a great portion for your money. Ambience: Small and family owned. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. There is only 10 tables inside. Speciality Item: Aloha Shaved Ice. Great for the summer!!!

I was expecting for the macadamia nut pancake to be amazing but it was alright. It tasted just like any other pancake with nuts and a vanilla custard jello. Other food we ordered was good.

Okay! Take me back to the island. This place is off the hook. I had a macadamia nut pancake and Kalua Pig… The owner brings me some cha shu pork and it’s over!!! Ok give me a lb. to go please. While you’re at it lets have some bbq pork and some macaroni salad… Yes, a lb. of each. I must share with my family for dinner… Well most of it made it home. Great food, great owner, can’t wait to go back!

I’ve only been here twice(both a year apart) but this place is as good as it gets for brunch. Been seeing pictures of the macadamia nut pancake? well you MUSTTRYIT!!! I recommend sharing because it leaves you craving for more. What I like about the pancake is the sauce. The sweet pudding topping is just perfectly sweetened. I’m not a big fan of super sweet toppings on my pancakes but Aloha does it PERFECTLY. And to offset the sweetness, you should order a savory plate!(Don’t share! haha) I usually get the eggs and spam plate or the eggs and kahlua pork. Ain’t nothing better than rice and eggs in tha morning. It’s perfect. You should go RIGHTNOW. Yum. Oh, if you go on weekends around lunch time, this place gets packed!

Aloha Food Factory serves up Hawaiian food that’s pretty tasty. The place also reminds me of a small restaurant I visited during my visit in Waikiki in terms of look and feel. I was in the mood for breakfast so I ordered the macadamia nut pancakes and a two meat combo. The pancakes were good… not to thick with a cream on top similar to pudding that included the macadamia nuts. I would’ve preferred the nuts to be in the pancakes themselves but still good. For my combo, I chose cha shu(BBQ pork) and spam as my meats with sunny side up eggs and rice. I can never get tired of this stuff. The pork was sweet and went great with the rice and some soy sauce. I love spam and its saltiness so another great mix with the rice and yolk from the eggs. I wanted to try the kalua pork but it was sold out so I’ll save that for my next visit. The breakfast here was a good one so I’ll be trying an entrée that leans more towards lunch or dinner next round. The oxtail soup looked amazing so my eyes are set on that and the kalua pork. This is a nice mom and pop shop in Alhambra to get your Hawaiian style food without having to go to Shakas or Ono Hawaiian! I’ve been to this location only two times but the service here always wins me over and the food keeps my stomach happy. It’s definitely a very small place, but very cozy and the owners/servers here are very attentative to your needs and questions. Most of the entrees here are very simplistic but they taste fanatastic with a homecooked feel behind each bite. I’ve ordered their breakfast plates before and while they tasted very good, the entee was very simple and probably something you can make at home unless you feel very very lazy. There are better entrees on their menu that are more worth it such as their Chicken Katsu plate. My friend recommended it while we were here, so I decided to order the same thing. When it came out, the Chiken Katsu looked so amazing and tasty. They gave a lot of chicken and not a lot of rice so thats a plus! They also gave a side of maccaroni and veggies! I really enjoyed this plate and when I compared it to some of the breakfast plates around me, I knew I ordered the right thing. Similarly, the Macademia Nut Pancakes are unique and different from your usual pancake; their special sauce really adds a little taste to an otherwise ordinary pancake. It’s something that I would recomend first timers to try along with the Chicken Katsu. Although the food and service here is amazing, some people might find the food too simple for their liking. Nothing really stands out as super amazing but you really have to know what you want to really enjoy yourself here. Personally, I enjoyed the couple of times I came here and am looking forward to the next time I feast here!

This is the restaurant that introduced me to not only macadamia pancakes, but the loco moco. Rice, patty, gravy, and an egg with its yolk swimming through the dish… It’s Hawaii’s heaven on a plate without emptying out your wallet. Everyone knows the macadamia pancakes are amazing, but I decided to try the macadamia French toast. Both are delicious. With the French toast, I thought«2» meant 2 halves, but it was actually 2 whole pieces. I was so full! That was under $ 10 too! Without realizing how large the portion of the French toast would be, I added a side of hash browns for $ 2.99. This was a whole plate!!! It was as if I ordered a main dish of hash browns. They were sliced into perfection and made crispy in all the right places. I’ve never really had trouble finding a table, because I eat at weird hours. However, on a Saturday at around 11 am, I learned that this place is poppin’. As long as everyone in your group is present, the wait shouldn’t be too bad. The woman that I always see working is very sweet too!

Damn… this place was really good. Highly recommended. I was surprised when I saw that there was a Hawaiian place in Alhambra. And much less it was on Valley! I’ve been on the road millions of times, but never knew anything was worth my time so early on Valley — most of the things don’t appear at least until around Fremont. First off, yes. Macadamia Nut pancakes/french toast are a must. The sauce is almost like a custard, and is a little cold. I was expecting a warm sauce, kind of like a chocolate sauce but it was nothing like that. It was fantastic though, cloyingly sweet and had great flavor. It was under $ 7 for 2 giant pancakes covered in the sauce. The owner(?) noticed it was me and my girlfriend eating and she brought us each a plate with a pancake. Great customer service. We were also surprised at how delicious the breakfast combo plate was… we got the combo with spam and cha siu… dude the cha siu was so good I’m still thinking about it. I think this was under $ 12. Great food, great service. We’ll be back!

I came on a Sunday afternoon with two friends. It took almost half an hour to get seated as this place is small and fits about ten parties. From the outside, you might even miss this old, little run down restaurant, but looks can be deceiving. It’s your perfect mom and pop shop and their food definitely delivers. The service was a bit slow, but the apologized in advance as someone had just called in this morning and couldn’t go to work, so they were short-staffed. Nonetheless, they were very friendly and accommodated all of our needs despite taking a little longer to order, get water, and our check. The three of us decided to share and ordered 2 Macadamia Nut Pancakes($ 6.50), Cha Sui Fried Rice($ 8.99), Kahlua Pig Island Plate($ 8.99), and a side of hashbrowns($ 2.99). It was really nice of them to give us each our own pancake even though we ordered the two(I believe they used the amount of batter for two pancakes, but split them evenly into three so we had smaller, individual pancakes). First of all, the pancakes are delicious and I’m not even a huge fan of pancakes. They’re super fluffy, airy, and soft. With the secret sauce and sprinkles of macadamia nuts, it worked so perfectly. If you’re afraid of sweets which we all were, the sauce was not too sweet at all. As for our savory dishes, the cha sui fried rice was a winner for all of us. The sauce over the fried rice was sweet and savory at the same time while the cha sui on top was tender and flavorful. Our other order was a plate with your choice of meat, veggies, rice and macaroni salad. The Kahlua Pig meat we ordered was pretty salty, so definitely needed to pair that with the white rice. As for the side of veggies and macaroni salad, they were okay. Last but not least, the hashbrowns are phenomenal here. It’s served like a pancake and super crispy –yum! I’m so glad there such a yummy little hole in the wall spot near me. I will definitely be back again. P. S. The owner’s little boy is the more adorable kid in the world.

I came here with a friend for the first time after looking at the delicious photos and seeing that the Macadamia Nut Pancakes are a must. Came around 11:30 am and we were seated right away. The cool thing is that they put your iced water in a white styrofoam cup which is handy, so you bring it to-go it after you finish your food. The Macadamia Nut Pancakes were $ 6.50 for 2 pancakes and $ 8.50 for 3 pancakes. They were really good as other Unilocalers had exemplified however I am not a saucy person, if there’s too much it makes me feel kind of gross after. I wish they did not put as much of the pancake sauce on it as I had hoped, half of the amount would’ve been good for me. My friend ordered the Macadamia Nut French Toast for $ 6.50 which he thought was pretty good. We also ordered the Hawaiian Breakfast with Portuguese Sausage for $ 8.25 which was alright. The Portuguese Sausage was good, however the rice was too mushy for me, definitely not the Asian Jasmine rice I am normally used to. As for the eggs, we got sunny side up and they were too unready, I could still see the white uncookness on it. Next time I will order scrambled. Overall the Macadamia Nut Pancakes and French Toast were good, so if you are ever nearby and hungry for breakfast foods or pancakes, check this spot out. The owners and people who run this place are really nice and I heard some exchange of a Cantonese dialect which was pretty awesome, especially since that’s my family’s native language. Definitely made me feel more at home after hearing talk. I will be returning in the future!

I’ve had this place on my bookmarks list since 2010. So long that I couldn’t remember why I put it on there in the first place. Maybe because I had just moved from Colorado and didn’t know what Hawaiian food was, so I wanted to try it? I have lots of bookmarks like that, actually, where I can tell that it’s just the first restaurant of some ‘category’ that I saw. Anyway, you can tell it’s a longstanding family business and the owners are super sweet. Unfortunately, so is their food. Even for Hawaiian food, and Hawaiian food is already extra sweet. The char siu made my teeth ache all the way up to my sinuses. It was like mainlining sugar. Even the Portuguese sausage, while also spicy, was sugary. The macadamia nut pancakes, though, which I absolutely would not have blamed for being sweet, weren’t. I ended up eating them to get a respite from all the sweet meat in the Hawaiian style breakfast. The ‘mystery’ white sauce tasted like vanilla rice pudding to me.

Went in today afternoon for a late lunch with a friend. Very homey vibe. She had the Portuguese sausage breakfast and I got the chicken katsu. Hers looked simple yet delicious. Only wished that the eggs were a little less runny. Had we noticed it early enough we would have asked for it to be cooked some more. But she didn’t mind. And I’m sure if we asked they wouldn’t have minded cooking it more well done. Mine was a bigger quantity and so yummy. The katsu filet was thicker than some other Hawaiian places I’ve been to. The katsu sauce was solid. I asked for more to take home with my leftovers hehehe. Both dishes were ~$ 9 not including tax and tip. I’ll be back to try their pancakes! If you want Hawaiian food, this has to be on your list of staples in the SGV area.
