So, I picked up running after about a ten year hiatus. I was doing great until one day my right calf hurt so bad I could barely walk. I decided to search for a chiropractor who specialized in sports medicine. I found what I was looking for in Dr. Nino.
I called and explained my situation and was able to get in to see Dr. Nino later that afternoon. I hobbled my sad melodramatic injured butt into his office, sure he was going to tell me my short lived running career was over. Instead, he told me just the opposite. He asked me a bunch of questions; where exactly does it hurt? How does it hurt? He watched me walk. He used some space aged laser and also dug deep into my calf muscle. He gave me some exercises to do at home to continue my therapy. Little by little I was able to walk like a normal human being again. Soon after that I was able to run again.
I continue to see Dr. Nino regularly in order to prevent future injuries. I also get adjustments when I’m there. I don’t think my body was made for running, but with the help of Dr. Nino I’m able to do it anyway. Now I’m getting ready to run my first half marathon in January. I can’t wait!
