I was kind of hesitant when I first walked in because it’s an old-​school style salon but I must say, she did an excellent job and it was only $ 15 (tip included). I brought in my daughter who had shoulder length curly hair and walked out with a beautiful bob, almost identical to what I showed the hairdresser in the picture.

Definitely my go-​to place for haircuts. The price is cheap and Lisa always gives me a haircut I’m always satisfied with. She’s a very nice person who always makes me feel welcomed when I come visit the shop.
What I like about this place is that it’s a 10 minute walk away from CSULA where I dorm so it’s extremely convenient to walk to. My hair grows really quickly, and Lisa is able to cut it in a way where I don’t have to go as frequently compared to other barber shops (the sides of my hair grow so fast I would need to go back in a week)! Overall, this is a place is definitely recommend for guys to go to. Lisa knows what she’s doing and deserves recognition for her great work.

Yes! I always go to the expensive barbershops. Being that I just moved and was looking for a trim before an important event. I thought I was gambling going here, but not at all. This lady did a really nice line up and has done a better job than places I’ve paid triple for. I just moved to the area so I’ll definitely be coming back especially for $ 8 bucks.

I went to this place to get my haircut. I’m new to the area and don’t have a car to go farther but after seeing the reviews about this place I decided to go get my hair cut from here. So I headed over and I’m not sure who’s Lisa so I’m gonna guess she’s the little old Asian women. If so then yes she is very sweet and attentive. The place is small and is very «homey» if that’s even a word. I didn’t get anything facy. I just didn’t want to pay 15+ that every other place charges so I headed here. I’m happy with my haircut. I really like how it came out. The woman knows how to cut hair and takes her time with your hair to leave you leaving happy. The only problem I had was communicating but that’s partially my fault also. The whole valley street is an Asian American community and because of this communicating was a bit difficult. I liked how she gave me a picture book because I was going to show her what I wanted but all the pictures were of outdated hairstyles. Like when justin was part of nsync era. Besides that I left happy and only paid 8 bucks. I will gladly return here :)

I love getting my hair done here, Lisa is so great at coloring as well as styling my hard to manage hair. She does wonders and I love it. ^_​_​^ I would recommend anyone to come here and I’ll be back soon for more touch ups :3 I got my hair layered and side bangs, I was very pleased with the result.

I have to add that in Friday when I was styling my hair, I noticed my roots are brown NOT black !!!

Lisa is great! I have a dense mat of stiff, unruly hair, plus asymmetric headshape to boot, but Lisa is one of the few I’ve run into (outside of expensive hair stylists) who can manage it and cut my hair into something great. Good eye and good touch.
On top of Lisa’s skill, she is very sweet, and the shop is charming and intimate, offering a real pleasant respite from my daily life.

I love coming to Lisa. She is attentive to what you want, a great listener. She is very good company to you while your hair is being cut. Her shop is cozy and cute. Prices are very reasonable. If you get her flier/​business card, you can get $ 2 off a cut – a great deal. Lisa is very open and communicative if you are not satisfied with your cut. She will fix it until you like it. I appreciate her hard work. I like to come back to her.

If you are looking for a fantastic haircut with great price, Lisa is whom you should go!!!

Like the previous review, I also met Lisa at Design Haircuts and followed her to her new shop in Alhambra :)
She takes the time to listen to what you want and always checks with you to make sure you’re happy with the cut during the process. She’s careful in not trimming too much but I usually tell her to chop off 3 inches since my hair grows fast. :)
My usual cut from her is 3 inches lopped off, thinned and LOTS of layers.
I like a low maintenance cut so my pictures show my hair after washing, half blow/​air dry and light hairspray. And that’s it. I don’t even brush my hair lol.
I have no time for high maintenance hair and Lisa does a great job in delivering what I want.
That’s why I drive up to Alhambra from the OC since the cuts are affordable ($ 10 for my long hair) and I like Lisa’s hair cutting :)
My mom is now interested in coming too so next time I’m going to bring my mom for a haircut: D

Originally met Lisa at Design Haircuts which she has been working at for over 5 years. The haircuts I’ve gotten have been great and as her profile says, guy haircuts are her specialty. The location may be a little out of the way and quiet but the great cut and low price are more than worth it.
Lisa is super friendly and very accommodating so just let her know how you want your hair.
She’s highly recommended!

Do not let the outer appearance of this store deter you! The only reason It took awhile for me to actually go in was the very small location and the fact that the sign was a bit unconvincing. However, Lisa is very skilled and friendly even though it was my first time. Don’t be shy to strike up a conversation with her! She takes time in cutting to your personal needs. She has worked for many years at Design Haircut, a salon that costs $ 15+. You only pay $ 8 and I still get a better haircut than places that cost twice as much. Please do not hesitate to go in, you will not regret it at all!

Totally satisfied. I can’t believe such high qulity cuts cost so little. I spent 10 time much at other stylest for years but not any more. Thanks Lisa, great job. I wish who ever sees my review will also take advantage the great deal. :-)
