LOVE their ice cream. Black raspberry is a favorite and they seem to be the only place around that has it. I also love their shop. There is plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. No seating is my major complaint about a different local favorite. It’s important to me, with small children, to have a place to sit when eating ice cream. It’s a no-brainer. We love to sit outside at Clyde’s and leisurely eat our treats. It’s nice that they also have the soft serve fro-yo option in addition to hard ice cream. They have a ton of toppings to choose from too. My only small complaint is that every now and again, it seems like they have trouble keeping their freezers cold enough for the hard ice cream, but it’s only been a few times out of the many, many times we’ve been there. I still give it 5 stars because I prefer to go there over anywhere else in Bergen for ice cream. We take the drive to Allendale from Glen Rock, just for ice cream.

While I appreciate that they try to make their ice cream homemade, the flavors of everything we ordered were just lacking. Butter pecan was not buttery, Creamsicle sherbet was not creamy or sweet enough, all flavors were just lackluster. A shame because we love to support local business and this one just doesn’t have any spunk flavor-wise.

As far as fro yo chains goes, this place is just decent. I’d rather just go the traditional route and go to the Dairy Queen in town instead.

Passed by this place so many times and I finally got the chance to stop in. So glad I did! This is a one stop place for homemade ice cream, Italian Ices, self-serve yogurt(with plenty of toppings!!), cookies, candy, etc. It’s a cute corner store with tables and chairs, both inside and out. It’s also nice and clean(important) and the people working there couldn’t be nicer. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the prices were, especially for this area. I checked out the pumpkin pie ice cream(tis the season). Yummm! No more just passing by, will make sure I stop to check out all their other stuff!

Ice cream is good. Has a froyo bar in the back with a bunch of toppings. Owner is really nice. Prices are fair. You can sit out on the street when the weather is nice.

Everything is so good here. Especially love the homemade pistachio ice cream. The young kids who work here are friendly and provide great service. Clyde’s is such a cute hometown ice cream joint.

Solid frozen yogurt. Very small store. Limited flavors. Decent toppings. Pricey. Certainly good if I are shopping or driving on Main Street. Would not make this a destination. There are others with many more flavors and options all over. Clyde’s does have homemade ice cream and not just yogurt. So, a cute tiny little local shop. Nothing more. Nothing less

I just bought a cupcake there. It was $ 4. Yes, it was kind of pricey but it LOOKED good. I took it home. When I ate it an hour later it was hard as a rock. STALE! Not just a little hard, but rock hard for a ¼″ inch into the cake. The inside was still soft, so I knew it must have been sitting there for DAYS. I threw it away! My questions are, was the $ 4 worth losing a new customer over? Was the $ 4 worth all of the negative internet and word-of-mouth publicity? I will not go back.

Went to Clydes in Allendale for first time. Staff did not know ingrediants in ice cream. My daughter has allergies to corn syrup, tree nuts and soy so this is important. I got two milkshakes for myself and my other daughter and they might have well have been just milk with syrup, completely thin with no thickness to them. Too bad I heard heard such great things about them before the opened in Allendale.

They have great flavors for frozen yogurt and a lot of variety. They also have homemade ices and iced cream and other goodies. There is a lot of seating which is great because many froyo places do not. They are in a great location for restaurant goers in the area to have an after dinner treat. I would definitely recommend the frozen yogurt, but i have no had any of their other treats so I can’t speak about them.

Homemade Italian Ice Ice Cream And Frozen Yogurt 100 Year Old Recipe Great new addition to the establishments that line West Allendale Avenue. The store is very nicely done with indoor and outdoor seating, relaxed atmosphere and knowledgeable friendly staff. The homemade water ices were excellent and come in fifteen flavors with weekly specials the lemon and cherry are available in sugar free. Had a hard time choosing a water ice so the staff offered me samples of several flavors all of which were very good, chose the black raspberry. Nine cream Italian ices also on the menu in addition to twenty three ice cream flavors, fifteen self-serve gourmet frozen yogurts(53 cents per ounce) and fifty different toppings to chose from. in cones, cups, ½ pints, pints, quarts and ½ gallons Shakes, malts, egg creams, floats, ice cream sodas and slushies. Decaf or regular coffee, tea, espresso and stuffed cupcakes can also be had in this quaint yet modern shop. Locally Owned Business, give them a try!
