Believe the hype the chicken is amazing. They also offer great sushi rolls.

Came here just for the wings. Started with some pork dumplings. They were alright nothing to write home about and then got the wings. We got a combo that came with fries. Sadly I think the fries were the best part. The combo came with both normal wings and then drumsticks. I get that the wings are Korean style and were I think ginger flavored and then a spice flavored. I couldn’t really tell the difference. The taste was good but for the price of the wings, I’d rather go somewhere else. But yes, consistency was there for the wings and it’s not like the sauce was falling off of the chicken. It was just too much fried food for me.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I recently came here to order take out for my family on Christmas and the lack of customer service and professionalism was appalling. I actually wrote to their«corporate» office which did absolutely nothing except tell me that they would«reach out to the location” — this incident is what I emailed them: I would like to email about a very upsetting experience I had at your Allston, Mass location yesterday(christmas). Being that it was Christmas, I decided to order lunch for my family for takeout. I looked up the menu online(I have been to this location many various times in the past but not recently) and ordered a few things — an extra large order of wings, seafood udon noodles, chicken house fried rice, some extra radishes and coleslaw, pork katsu, and avocado salad– which averaged out to about $ 75 in total based on your website. I placed the order on the phone with a gentlemen who was very rude and spoke to me in a tone that I was already unhappy with. As he took down my order it was noisy in the background and he asked me about the seafood udon and muttered something I could not hear so I very kindly said I only thought there was one kind where he proceeded to snap at me and say in a rather bitchy tone«no theres 2 kinds THATS why I asked you» I was a little taken aback from the lack of customer service but none the less he quoted me the total as being $ 97which i didn’t know if I heard right or not. About 20 minutes later when I got there to pick it up I came in and went naturally towards the host who was a young asian muscular man who quickly also gave me attitude and without even greeting me– motioned me off to the side to where the take out was. At this point my anger was already mounting– the young asian man(mid height, in his 20’s and had glasses) who then was doing all the take out orders was also the guy who took my order because I recognized his voice. First off, he acted like he didn’t want to be there and when I came up to him there was no greeting, nothing– I told him I was picking up and could he tell me the total again because I thought it was a little high. Right away instead of going over the prices he ripped the receipt from the bag and told me that«I probably looked at an old menu online and that was what the prices where«I looked at the printed receipt and notices all the prices were a few dollars higher($ 3-$ 5)I told him to dial back the attitude with me wherein he replied«you can count it yourself if you want» motioning to me and making me feel as if I couldn’t pay for the bill(which was extremely rude) and pushed the receipt towards me. I find this absolutely unacceptable and the lack of social skills that this kid had to talk to me in that tone and instead of telling me simply in a nice way the prices went up– he gave me smirks and attitudes and did nothing to apologize for the fact that the menu prices were wrong. He then says«our menu prices are on facebook we don’t have control of the website menu» which is also ridiculous because when people look up menus for restaurants they naturally go to the website and NOT randomly on facebook. I told him the money is not the issue but that was a $ 25 difference that me as the consumer has a right to mention and it’s not my fault your own prices are not reflected correctly ONYOUROFFICIALBONCHONWEBSITE. Again he smirked and kept looking over to the host and told me that«he didnt have attitude and that he was sorry I didn’t like his voice» Seriously? I told him I hope he wasn’t a manager because hes lacking any customer service skills. He told me «it didn’t matter» I told him«are you serious– customer service doesn’t matter? «He continued to stand there and instead of getting an actual manager he told me «I was making a big deal out of nothing». I have never been more disgusted with the lack of customer service/helping the customer or lack of assistance in my life. I myself work in corporate customer service where GREETING and the TONE you set forth helps you RETAIN that customer to RETURN and spend more money at your establishment and this is appalling that you have people that do not want to maintain your brand(ESPECIALLY when they are on the front line answering phones and INTERACTING with customers) and also treat customers that are about to spend $ 100 on wings FORLUNCH like trash. After I paid full price I turned to the host and asked if he was a manager– I wasn’t sure if he was just lying or didn’t want to deal with me but he said no and never got a manager for me. I told him I didn’t appreciate what the other kid said to me and instead of actually doing anything — he just stood there, continued to smirk and gave me a fake apology, I’m sorry to say that I will not be returning to your establishment after this incident. I find it unacceptable to be treated this way.

The best chicken wings! The menu offers many other selections but again many people, including myself, go for the wings. It is a little pricey but well worth it!

So I decided to eat here with a couple of my friends because Bön Chon is usually the best place to grab some wings and have a nice time. But the other day when we ate here we did not get the best type of food we were hoping for. First the radish that I so love tasted very bland and gave off a bad after taste. Second of all the wings were warm so I feel as if they had been left out for quite some time before being served. And finally the waitress we had, although she was nice she did not come back to the table to check up on how we were doing or how our meal was. Usually Bön Chon gives me no concerns and I love eating here BUT for some reason this time was not as great as we were expecting.

There are a lot of yummy dishes on the menu, but you can never go wrong with the spicy wings and Kim chi bacon fried rice! I’m a BIG spicy fan and these wings hit the spot! The soy garlic wings are delicious as well. I usually go here once a month and it never disappoints. Parking can be really difficult during the weeknights and weekends.

I’m reviewing the new Bön Chon location in Salem, MA. *thud* That’s the sound of my keeling over from a heart attack if I eat their wings even one tenth as often as I wish I could. I’ve been a few times with friends and the other items on the menu are fine, but it’s all about the wings. Service in this location needs some ironing out.

Got the usual, chicken wings. This time we got some fries as well. The waitress came to us twice during our entire stay. Once to refill the water and once to give us the bill, I didn’t include when she came and gave us the menu and food since the eating part hasn’t really started. The food was good. If you want something really spicy then you should go somewhere else.

Was so good! We are excited to have leftovers for days. My wife and I shared a small(10 piece) chicken strips and it was double what we ate at the restaurant. I got house fried rice(chicken) and my wife got the Spicy Japchae. These were both excellent and pretty different, but they were overshadowed by how good(and how spicy) the chicken was. The noise level was a little high, and the seating is close together if you’re coming here on a date on a weekend night.

Having the Mondayest any day ever? Relaxx; BonChon will take good care of you. Seriously, the service here is wonderful and the casual ambiance filled with satisfied customers creates a great environment for unwinding after a long day. I come here solely for the chicken and jjigae, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve tried the dukbokki and seafood pancake once before, but I didn’t find them particularly satisfying. I don’t usually like dukbokki with cheese; and the seafood pancake was pretty thin, not fluffy and overflowing with sea critter chunks like ones I’ve had elsewhere. Dat chicken doe… double fried for an addicting crispiness and lightly-coated with a special brand of crack that lends it stickiness without that saucy drippiness. It may not be THE best, but it’s damn good. I seriously experience physiological withdrawal after just a week off of this freakin’ chicken. And I’m positive I’ve been conditioned to salivate just at the thought of a piece of that tender, white meat chicken wrapped in that crunchy, candied coating… please excuse me a moment while I wipe away some dribble at the thought… An unexpected favorite from BonChon is kimchi jjiggae. It’s deeply flavorful and so fresh, with nice, fatty pieces of pork that help cut some of its spiciness. It’s big enough to split between two, and servers are often quite generous with rice. Because the same seasonal peppers are used in both the kimchi jiggae and the spicy fried chicken, the degree of spiciness may vary throughout the year. Getting these dishes together may make you sweat and cry all sorts of masochistic joy, but the sweet cole slaw and sour pickled radish side dishes offer a welcome respite from the heat. Al tang(fish roe soup) is also quite delicious, and it’s huuuge. I’d say it’s big enough to share amongst 4 – 6. Bonus for those who in the area for lunch on a weekday(noon-3pm): BonChon probably has the best lunch special you’ll be able to find around here. One order of chicken and one order of kimchi jjigae is under $ 20 and provides a generous lunch portion for two.

Korean Fried Chicken. There isn’t anything else to say, but this is where you go for consistency. KFC is doubled fried — so be patient b/c it will take a while for it to come out. Give it a good 20−30m extra over your other food. This is dependent if it is busy and this place is always busy. Pros: 1) Chicken wings over Drumsticks and always get the sweet soy! 2) Extra pickled daikons please 3) Seafood fried rice is good Cons: 1) Wait time but they turn over pretty fast 2) Sushi. it’s ok but I would pass here

YAAAS. Whenever I want some super fried double fried amazingness I come here. Been coming here for years since college and I will continue to regret eating it after… But also loving every moment. My group and I always start with the salmon salad. Pretty much just crispy goodness with avocado, cucumber, and salmon. Then it’s drenched in sauces. Then we order the seafood scallion pancake, which is also fried. This is always very crispy here which is exactly how you want it. And finally, depending on the size of your group, I usually order a combo of the chicken(wings and drumsticks) and for flavor: half spicy and half soy garlic(non spicy). And don’t forget to order a side of fries(they’re real good here, almost double fried). The chicken definitely has gotten smaller over the years, but it’s still good. Very flavorful and I always love when you bite in and you get a good crunch. I suggest the half and half for flavoring so that you get some variety in what you are eating vs just one flavor. The chicken also comes with sides of radish and Korean style cole slaw. The radishes are great for helping you cool down after a spicy wing. The cole slaw… Has gotten worse as the time has past. I don’t think it tastes as good anymore and almost has a gross taste to it(if BonChon is reading this, please go back to your old recipe!!). And you can always ask for more sides of the radishes and cole slaw. Overall, I like it here. Lots of seating and it can get pretty packed. I’ve also had other random things here, but I really like the 4 choices I mentioned in my post the best. Of course I definitely feel greasy post-BonChon, but I don’t care. I’ve also tried Crave Mad for Chicken as well. And I’m not quite sure which one I like better. BonChon is way more convenient for me, but maybe this means I should do a fried chicken contest to figure out which one I like better…

I really like the Allston location. If you get here after 5PM you will have to wait but its worth it. The service can be hit or miss but that chicken is worth it. Prices are reasonable. Sometimes calling for takeout can be a huge challenge. Either they wont answer or just say they are too busy for takeout orders. Since my friends and I were three blocks away I walked in and placed our order. Kind of hard to say no to my face I guess.

Chicken is really good and pitcher of beer is decently priced. Not sure if I understand their business model though. They don’t take down cell phones to call people back for a table but yet they have no waiting room space at all. You can’t order a beer while you wait cause they don’t want to open a separate tab even if you just handed them cash. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I like the chicken here but I don’t have the patience to wait for a table or order take out cause If they say ready in 30 min, you go in at 40 min to pick it up, they always say sorry we are running behind and you end up waiting in a crowded restaurant for 10 – 15 min to pick up take out.

Its a really overrated, expensive, crowded(we had to wait for 30 minutes) the wings(the reason we went there) are dry & with weak flavor the sushi is kind of acceptable(compared to the wings) i can think of 10 restaurants in the same street are better than this restaurants.

The wings are crack. I have a southern grandmother(no one can cook chicken better) and she even loves Bön Chon. NEVER get the spicy, it’s so strong it hurts your entire soul in a good way. I tried the sushi recently and it was pretty good as well! Sake the grape one is good too. Expect long lines, this place will always be popular. Definitely a place to try though!

Went here for lunch with my girlfriend on a Friday. We were seated promptly and the service was decent. Noise level was low and the interior was nice. Recommended items: wings(standard bonchon or korean style«dry» chicken wings) with french fries, radish, or coleslaw as sides. Stay away from: okdol bibimbap(if you’re Korean) We got the lunch special spicy pork okdol bibimbap as well as boneless tenders with skewers of bacon-wrapped scallops, quail eggs, and mushrooms. The bibimbap was pretty subpar. However, I am Korean so I have been exposed to much better okdol bibimbap so I’m not sure how great it would be to someone who has never tried it. They give the pepper paste sauce on the side which makes it easy for you the control the spice level. I dumped it all in anyways. Normally, I hate getting tenders but it was hard to complain when they were SO. BIG. A single tender probably has enough meat to account for 2.5 wings easily. That being the case, a single order of chicken tender lunch might actually have been enough for the both of us. It was a lot of food. The taste was very standard. If you’ve ever had bonchon elsewhere, this will taste almost exactly like it. It’s a very standard Korean wing place. The lunch special of chicken comes with a choice of two«sides» I recommend choosing two of french fries, radish, or coleslaw. The skewers were excellent. Everything about them tasted good. You get three non-mixed skewers with three items on each skewer. The seasoning they put on it is very tasty. Overall, I would recommend this place if you’re craving wings and some interesting appetizers. Apparently the crispy salmon salad is REALLY good(according to my girlfriend). I can’t personally confirm as I am allergic to cooked salmon.

3 girls, Saturday 7PM, we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. But the food came out in like 5 minutes! I’ve always ordered Bön Chon to go, for some chicken and beer at home while watching TV… I actually didn’t even know they had a legit sit-down restaurant until I came to Boston! And they sell sushi?! We ordered the ddukbokee and medium soy garlic combo(wings and drums), and Sapporo(which is the only draft they have unfortunately) Ddukbokee: I was very very impressed by the ddukbokee here. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my share of some amazing ddukbokkee. But the spiciness was not overwhelming, the rice cakes were plump and not tough, the spring rolls were crispy, the ramen noodles were abundant, etc. Overall, it really really tasted great. Gosh my mouth is watering. The medium combo was actually too much for us to finish! It was probably the beer that got us a little full, but we had about 8 wings/drums left over? But the soy garlic was spot on, and ugh. so good. you never fail with Bön Chon’s chicken. All in all, the wait was long, but the food was worth it, so yay!
