Wabora Prime

It started as a poutine run, ended with a disgruntled hunger still lingering. The staff are rude. Then, somehow, despite the fact that they should have a fully stocked larder on a Monday 30 minutes after they open, they ran out of potatoes … you know, those things used for fries which are used in poutine? They were really pushing the poutine, so one would expect them to have plenty of potatoes. Lucky for me, my friend ordered the last batch available, because I tried his poutine and it was terrible. The cheese (I was unable to figure out what the square cut bland cheese was) was not even melted.
The Dynamite Beef soup was good but not great (or dynamite) and definitely not worth 12 $. Ridiculous pricing at this place.

Picked up a Groupon for here just because they had poutine fries… Well those were delicious as was EVERYTHING else we tried. The corned beef hash burger is different and the fried egg made it even better. The staff was friendly and informative. The space was clean. The service was quick. Highly recommend and will return.

Tried this place using a Groupon. The burgers come out BIG and juicy, the buns were soft and of good buttery quality, and the meat is tenderly delicious (I wonder if they would do rare, med rare, or well done?). All the typical American fixings (lettuce, tomato, spring mix, ketchup, mustard, pickles) were good with no extra charge.
The people there were helpful in recommendations and very kind. We got free french fries which were FRESH, abundant, and came with black pepper.
I got the sumo burger with spicy pork bulogigi and my partner got a sumo burger with Kimchi bacon. Spicy pork bulogigi one was delicious! It wasn’t too much meat or too salty. It was just so good and what a unique twist to a hamburger. I love cheeseburgers and find hamburgers plain. I did not mind a hamburger this time because of the flavorful topping. My partner said the Kimchi bacon was decent.
4 stars not 5 because of the price. The actual price of a burger without French fries is $ 10. It’s too much for just a burger and compared to the Allston area.

Came here because my girlfriends and I thought this was a kebab place. We went in and found out it was a Korean burger restaurant. Thought it might be rude to walk out since we were the only ones there so we decided to give this place a try. So glad we did because this place is a hidden gem!!! To be honest, I still didn’t notice the sign on the outside of this place. The reason I found out the name of this was from my credit card statement.
I got the Easy! Boston burger and it was loaded with everything it says it comes with! This really hits the spot after a night out of drinking. I also ordered the Bulgogi poutine fries and it was so flavorful! I shared it with one of my girls and the order was so large we couldn’t even finish it. The fries were crispy and the burger was juicy so it’s fair to say I’ll be giving two thumbs up for my order.
I also want to mention the people behind the counter were very friendly and I liked how the cashier pressed ‘no tip’ when we paid with credit on the ipad thing. I hate when it’s a fast food restaurant and there’s so much pressure on me when the machine asks how much we want to tip. I’ll definitely be coming back if I’m around the area!

I noticed that Wabora Prime went in and replaced Boston Kebab (in my opinion was the best in Allston). As these places come and go, I wanted to check it out and see how their burgers were.
I had a full meal, burgers, fries, and a drink.
The poutine was pretty good, I thought maybe better than the burger. However, I felt that it was a bit oddly put together. They put the gravy on the bottom, which I thought was kind of strange. I’m sure if I asked I may be able to get it on top instead, i think it would make it better. For 5 bucks, it was a good portion.
My burger wasn’t too bad, but a few minuses. There was no sauce on the burger. I didn’t see any ketchup out, or any condiments for that matter. But ended up dipping my sandwich in the poutine gravy.
I was a bit thrown back by the price. All the burgers there are pushing 12 to 13 dollars. The toppings sit, similar to subway style, and the burger was warm, where the toppings were cold or soggy. The burger itself tasted good.
The poutine, a (very small) drink, and the burger ran me about 20 dollars even. Which, I feel if used wisely, could have been spent at a nicer sit down place. It’s the most expensive meal I’ve paid for in the area for a fast food joint. Uburger, right down the street, will run you about 16 dollars with a small sweet potato fry, frappé, and a burger. Its also still alarmingly expensive, a couple bucks cheaper with a soda instead of the shake, but in my eyes worth it sometimes.
Where as Wabora was just flat out not worth the money. With the new Five Guys down the street, I think it will be tough competition.
Good service, decent ambience, though very red. The seating is a little tight and maybe 5 too many tables.

I’ve eaten here twice.
The first time I got their Sweet Potato Poutine Fries with the Bulgogi Beef steak ontop.
It wasn’t bad, except that they forgot the beef and i had to go back to fix it. Lukewarm fries with slopped on beef wasn’t the most appetizing thing in the world, but it wasn’t bad.
The next time, i got the Cod Fish Sandwich (with spring mix veggies as a topping) with Sweet Potato Fries.
They messed up my order, again, and gave me regular fries instead. I LOVE Sweet Potato Fries, and was bummed they messed that up. I would have gone back again (i live close) but it was raining, and I have been working all day.
Also, as they handed me my order, they clarified that there is no sauce on the burger, and if I wanted any. Have you ever gotten a sandwich in your life that didn’t have sauce? And it was fried fish so it was extra dry? Neither had I…
I said ok, I’ll take some ketchup. The guy then proceeded to give me a minuscule squirt of ketchup into a little container that would not even be enough for a child.
For an $ 8 sandwich ($ 11 with fries), you can’t at least put some sauce on there? Or give me a reasonable portion of ketchup?
I liken my eating experience at Wabora Prime, with eating at a cheap, awkward, and absent-​minded friend’s house. They skimp on the little things that makes the meal enjoyable, and the whole encounter is just awkward.

This place seemed to pop up out of nowhere and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’m currently eating a «sumo burger» with bacon kimchi, and it’s is perfect. I’ve never really eaten kimchi much before, and the bacon kimchi is amazing.
Not to mention… THEY HAVE POUTINE! Definitely try this place out. Just what Allston needs.
