The beer and service were tremendous. The food I’d really good, especially the Cuban. The pickled vegetables were a really nice touch. This place is a welcome addition to the otherwise less-than-exciting and uncomfortable pubs to dine at in Aloha. We immediately felt comfortable and enjoyed the experience. We were sorry to leave! That’s when you know it’s a good place.

I really wanted to like this place. Finally a taphouse in the area. Unfortunately this place fell short of my expectations. I liked the service and large windows, but that was about it. The menu is one of the messiest I’ve seen for a taphouse. I wish the items were sectioned off better. An excel sheet would have worked better. The seating is very awkward. Not sure what this place is trying to be with its seating. The seats are also too low for the tables. Tables were large for a bar or restaurant. The bar was sticky on each of my visits. The TVs were high up making it uncomfortable to watch anything. The drink selection was good. Some drinks are very expensive. I purchased one on accident. I wish them the best, but would rather go elsewhere.

Loved it! Very friendly staff!(Jeff, the owner, is awesome, knowledgeable and personable). Great tap selection, 20+local brews. Loved the atmosphere. Options with games, cards &TV’s. Had a brat plate– amazing! Will come back again and again! Love the Edison lights :)

Very good little local pub. Good selection of beers. Tasty little menu of snacks and appetizers. Enjoyed the environment and watching football on their tv. I hope they are here for the long term.

Updated: The owner wrote me tonight because of my Unilocal review and said they were sorry. We really wanted a Grilled Cheese and Brat, as my gal buddy who owns the Postal Annex said they were really good. The Owner states they DO offer table service afterall. The star rating increased just because the Owner cares about Unilocalers. Hopefully we’ll get to try it again. Original Review: Poor signage inside, very dark inside, hard to read menus due to lighting. Multiple tables had to use their cell phones as lighting. No direction about ordering at bar. So I guess this is like a dive bar where you go stand in line at the register to order anything. Our group sat at two different tables waiting for somebody to wait on us for food and beverage order, finally when we didn’t get waited on I went up to the server and asked what the deal was and she said they don’t offer any table service. My group was sick of waiting around in the dark and we all left. The video menus on the flat screens looked like they had great selection of beers, but first experience left us all with a very bad taste in our mouths. I promise to try this place again when we wanna just drink to get bent and stand at the bar. Only then will I have a better experience — I hope???

We live 5 minutes down the street. We were pleasantly surprised to find a rating of this magnitude for a bar around us. We love that we don’t have to travel closer to the city to find a great, more upscale, not divey, pub. The lighting really brings the mood here to a great chill out spot with friends. All the beers are great, and the service is even greater. We are Beyond happy that we found this awesome place before a majority of people have. HAVEFUNHERE!

Hmm, nice little spot in an area where you wouldn’t thing you’d find a good tap house. They only had one waitress/bartender and she was pretty busy. I see one guy in the back cooking who clangs the shit out of that bell when an order is ready. The glasses are cool and so are the long wooden tables in the middle of the restaurant. I did not try the food, from what I can see it looked okay, not culinary works of art, but hey, I didn’t try it, so not fair. Did I mention they only had one waitperson/bartender? She was nice and working hard but come on management? Where’s the owner? Get your butt in here and work(pet peeve of mine). The beer, that’s why I came here. I hit Unilocal and looked for bars while I was out here and was surprised to find a bottle shop/tap house. Pretty schmancy for 185th and Farmington, sorry, not the greatest area. 24 taps but a few are wine and kombucha. Who the hell drinks kombucha? Oh, before I forget, the chairs at the bar are too short for the bar, or the bar is too high, it doesn’t work. I moved to the tables. The beer, good selection of local and non-local beers known to us aficionados. Someone mentioned good prices. I don’t consider $ 6 pints a good price. The bottles? I didn’t look, don’t care. They must be in the other room I haven’t visited. For the locals it will be nice, but I wouldn’t drive far to get here.

OK, I’m only reviewing based on my first visit. My expectations were pretty high considering previous reviews… Let’s start with the good– Beer selection and prices… I thought the selection, and prices, were very good. They can accommodate most palates and they don’t charge crazy prices for bottles. I tried a Doghead I’d been wanting to try. for $ 3, pretty darn good. An excellent selection of both tap and bottled. Now the not so good– Food…They have 10 items on the menu. We ordered 2. Crostini and beer cheese and pretzel with fondue. Granted, it was lunch time, but it was obvious the crostini were pulled from a zip lock bag. There was no crispness or freshness. If they had been served the night before I bet they would have been great. The beer cheese was pretty good. The pretzel… probably warmed Ina toaster over and served with flavorless fondue. Will probably skip both next time. Service…might want to have knowledgable staff on during the day. Seemed to know little about the selection and originally focused on those sitting at the bar instead of also covering the 2⁄4 tops. Did get better after the first round. Not an overall bad experience but would hope to see the Taphouse make sure everything offered in this establishment is top notch, not just the beer brought into the house…

I can’t give this place a 5 because, well, usually reserved for quite exceptional places, so this is as good as it gets. I do like it, the food was better than the«normal» bar fare with the exception of the bread pudding. First of, it had raisins. Normally, you can pick out raisins, but there were a lot of tiny raisins in this flat piece of dessert. Wait a minute, flat??? Every other piece of bread pudding I’ve ever had was at least 3 inches high! Sorry folks, a big thumbs down on the bread pudding. Ah, but the grilled cheese«sammie» was very good and the California Wedge Salad had sunflower seeds and avocado with it. Yum. Staff is very friendly, easy to talk to. The one gal who was mostly the server staff(and young) actually likes classical rock! We had some really good talks about music. Perhaps when the clientele increases there will be more people to sit and yak with. Oh, the other thing: the bar stools aren’t quite high enough for the bar(which is gorgeous, BTW — handmade from what I understand). On the plus side, they did provide hooks underneath the bar so us ladies have a place to hang or purses. One thing that would have been nice is USB ports under the bar so we could charge our phones and tablets. They have ciders, beers, wine, and Kombucha on tap. Oh, again on the plus side, they have Apple pay! We’ll definitely be back, but won’t be ordering the bread pudding.

Downtown taste, but no downtown commute. Have you ever wanted to go out and chill with some good food and good drinks, but not wanted to pay the cab fare?(Über?) Well, now Aloha has a solution! Finally, a great place to hang out and have a local brew is available to in the burbs.

Top-Notch service, nifty atmosphere, great brews, and the best pretzel I’ve ever had! I’m looking forward to trying other things on the menu when I come back. Walk up & check out the massive natural wood-Slab bar!

We decided to try out the 649 Taphouse and Bottle Shop last Saturday. We joined some friends and arrived shortly after 6pm. We were able to get a table and settled in for some nice beer and conversation. The Tap House has great potential but is having some growing pains. Our waitress was obviously new and knew little about the beers. She kept having to ask the more experienced waitress which beer was which. Also, some of the beers were out so we had to pick others. Finally we got our orders and enjoyed some good old«pub» atmosphere and friendly conversation. We ordered some food from the limited bar menu. I had the wedge salad which was OK and the Mac and cheese which was also OK. The more experienced waitress took over our table and all was well. Once this new watering hole works out the opening glitches, it certainly has potential and I’m sure my score will go up. We shall return!

come drink beer here!!! Around 20 beers on draft, plus kombucha and cold brew coffee. They have small plates that are awesome! We got the house brat and the soup and everything was amazing! So happy to have 649 close to home!

Great addition to the neighborhood. Good selection of beers. I’ve been able to try several new beers and breweries from across the country. Friendly staff and customers. Small but growing menu. Each time I go they’ve added a few more items to the menu. Music is all old school rock and roll, but at a reasonable volume, so if it isn’t your thing it shouldn’t bother you. They have sports, mostly soccer on the TVs, but usually with no sound and it easy to sit where you don’t have to stare at a TV.

Great atmosphere, nice staff, and decent tap list of high-quality beers. Tried the pretzel and the brat; both were very good. This place has good potential, hope to see a bigger menu in the future.

The bar is really social, and there is a lounge area on the side for small groups and reading. The ambience is warm, terrific and unmatched in the area. Pro tip: the arcade table has tons of vintage arcade games and it’s free-to-play, which means I finally have a shot of passing the first level of Galaga.
