Stumbled across this restaurant today for lunch(we couldn’t even tell if it was open at first) and LOVEDIT. can’t wait to come back again. Finally a place with a real chef and casual atmosphere that won’t break the bank.

If you are searching for a new local restaurant, this is it. The choice of seating is good and very comfortable. This includes the patio, although it was too cold to sit out. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. It is urban chic, a bit upscale without being fussy. There was a good crowd for a Wednesday night, so the word must be getting out. Currently they are serving their Winter Menu, which supports farm-to-table; but there are certain things I hope remain thru every season. For example, Anabelle’s Old Fashion made with blood oranges, awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed the Fowl Balls; meatballs made with chicken, turkey, guinea hen and duck… stroke of genius. The«Big Daddy» pork chop would give a college linebacker a run for his money, and the salmon was really fresh and cooked to perfection. A word of warning… the chocolate croissant bread pudding, you won’t want to share. Get your own! I will be back. I have to sample the po’boys, sandwiches and salads. Watching them go by wet my appetite even more.

On their website, Anabelle’s Table says, «We are craftsman …,» which concisely explains why I love chef-run restaurants. Anabelle’s Table combines a trendy, comfortable atmosphere with a menu that’s both familiar and creative. It’s farm-to-table, providing seasonal dishes sourced from mostly Georgia farms(a list of 18 is on their website). Their menu makes adjustments every 3 months, so there’s always a good reason to return. Our waiter knew the wines and patiently helped us with our order(yes, 4 women, 4 different wines :)). Our table started with the Pulled Pork Empanadas — everything you love about empanadas but heavy with delicious strings of pork. We had the soup of the day, cauliflower soup. I don’t like soup or cauliflower(I know, weird), but I’ve learned chef’s can often shift my preferences, so I went for it. Smooth and flowing with taste, my mouth loved it! Loved it! It was a ‘call the chef-over moment,’ which I did. I don’t do salad dressing(weirder!), but the dressing on my salad added great flavor without overtaking the flavor or texture of the greens. My friend loved her seafood po’boy(the spicy aioli was indeed spicy, but the winter slaw provided the perfect complement. I had the meatball sandwich, a combo of 4 types of meat(which I’ve forgotten) with a perfect amount of sauce. All the food was perfectly balanced with seasonings, dressings & sauces. Dessert — Croissant Bread Pudding! Ugh — ate the whole thing. Have to go back because the table next to us ordered Your Mama’s Pork Chop & Pepper Steak — they looked soooo good! Also have to try the Mussels Normandy Style appetizer and the Floating Island dessert — recommended by friends, but we ran out of stomach space. No matter. There’s a rustic-wood round table seating 10 that was screaming at me to gather up some friends and return for another evening of fun.

Just had dinner for the first time and totally enjoyed it. I had the Mussels Normandy Style(very fresh) and Mama’s Pork Chop(Tender and tasty). I think the place has found a sweet spot in the area being family friendly with an upscale touch. The menu and whine list are eclectic and overall good value for money. I will need to try it for lunch soon.

This fresh new restaurant has great atmosphere and a charming layout. With many seating options; dine in counter where you can watch the chefs; sit at a table or share a community table; and those looking for something special, reserve ‘Anabelle’s table’ under the chandelier in center court. When the weather gets warmer the outside patio will be fabulous. The other side with a long banquette or booths makes for a cozy environment. If you want to eat healthy and clean this is your place. The NC trout melted in my mouth. The salad had the perfect mix of light dressing and mix of flavors. The desert was just like my childhood in France. Fresh fruit tart the perfect ending.

They are new and certainly need to work out a kink or two but has some definite potential. Red deer chili gets full approval. It costs some doe but the cup had me game for a bowl next time. Only criticism it was it was a bit too chilly. Shrimp and cod pobody uses high quality fresh seafood. I didn’t like the roll much. It was more of a hard hoagie roll than a poboy roll. Truthfully, I suspect the roll was a day old and they tried to cover it up by toasting it.

Had lunch today at the new place on Windward Parkway. I think there are high hopes/expectations for this place… so far, I think they are almost delivering! Honestly, would give them 3.5 stars at this point, but, there were enough positive indicators to bump it up to 4… as I will definitely go back… so…now the details… This is a bit more upscale type place, but not with tremendous upscale prices(at least for lunch). They are a farm to table type place, so the food should be fresh, tasty and relatively healthy, so long as you order that way. I had the ½ and ½ special… salad and chili this time… I had the Harvest Salad(mixed greens, apples, dried cranberries, feta, candied pecans with an apple cider dressing)…and it was well done. Very tasty and fresh… will definitely order again! While many places have a similar salad, this one would stand out a bit with its flavors. I also had their Lone Star Chili(venison red deer, sour cream, cheddar, green onion). The flavors here were good, but the texture was not to my liking. Now, let me say this up front, this is a personal preference… and chili is always a dish that is VERY personal. The texture was a heavily ground venison with seasonings(good flavor) with the cheese, sour cream and green onion on top. There were no discernible vegetables in the chili and there was no «chew» to the meat… it was more of a soup than what I would think is a real chili. While I liked the flavors, I will not order again due to the texture. Others may disagree with me and that is fine… and this is NOT a real«put down» to the chef and/or kitchen! Finally, the service… which was very good with one small quibble. As a new restaurant and an early lunch, seating was not a problem. Waiter was quick to fill the water glass, give a menu and ask about other drinks. Gave me a few minutes, came took the order, kept me informed about when my food would come out… all hallmarks of good service… without being«right over my shoulder.» So. good work… Now the«quibble»…and this was probably just my waiter… but…with every thing he said/asked, he called me «my friend.» I am not his«friend»…I am his customer, treat me as such. I do not know you, you do not know me. I realize that he was being friendly, but it got to be annoying… it is a quibble… and as stated, very good service… but…still… So…will I be back? Absolutely… and maybe even tomorrow! Could this become a favorite lunch place… absolutely! Particularly if they expand the salad offerings a bit… maybe try something other places don’t have… and…I have to try a few of their sandwiches, etc. Can it get to a 5 star… I think so…

Nice staff. Concept, menu and ambiance are nice. Presentation was lovely, but food was only average and overpriced. We will give it one more try, but if food isn’t outstanding we won’t be going back.

This is a restaurant that I highly recommend with urban rustic charm décor. The food was excellent — I never order burgers but sure glad I did. Farm feed beef from local farms. The po’boy was huge and just a bit spicy with their homemade Cajun sauce. Save room for homemade fresh bread pudding with cream sauce. Reasonable prices too!!!

My wife and I are in Alpharetta all this week, on a business trip, and we have eaten out every night. We try to pick a different place each night. Annabelle’s is easily the best place we’ve been to. The environment is very inviting and relaxing — open, well-lit but not too bright, plenty of room between tables — basically very comfortable. But the main thing is the food; and it is simply fantastic! Staff was very friendly. Chef Annabelle came over to our table and checked on us herself. She spoke with us about her goal of sourcing locally as much as possible. Of course I am happy to support sustainable farming; but the real benefit of getting your food locally, from a diner’s point of view, is that you get it FRESH. And this really shows in the flavors on your plate! Everything was wonderful; I may have to break my policy of different place, different night, and return to Annabelle’s once more before we leave town.
