Best Italian restaurant in Atlanta! A scratch kitchen where everything is made in-house. Service is top-notch. This is a place for Anniversaries or whenever you want to impress someone. Whatever you order you are likely to find it be the best you have ever had.

Our party of 10 was greeted warmly, and our table was ready when we walked in. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Antipasto Misto. The charcuterie alone was outstanding, but the flavors of the olives, cheeses, and Marcona almonds all blended so beautifully. We had that with the 2014 Schug Pinot. Our party had everything from the Frutti del Mar, Veal, Pollo Rustico, Ravioli, and Gnocchi. All were delectable and not a single bite was left behind. The desserts were visions of confectionary perfection, although I would have preferred a larger portion, as I would say most portions at Di Paolo err on the petite side, even the«full portions» of most entrees. The service was hurried and a bit distracted/inattentive. One dessert was never put in, the bill calculated incorrectly even though we requested a split up front, and the service was a tad sloppy(spilled wine on my hand while pouring the tasting glass). All in all, the scratch kitchen here produces high end food with authentic Italian flavors, techniques, and results.

I don’t know why I don’t eat here more often. The food is always excellent. We had the Halibut and Veal chop. Both were cooked to absolute perfection and each had their own amazing flavors. The chef here really knows what he/she is doing. This place is as good as any of the trendy spots in Buckhead. Prices are a little high for the burbs and portion are a spec small but easily overlooked for the taste and quality of the dishes. I will return soon!

Excellent quality food, majority of which is made in house. We have had the lamb(stinco d’agnello), steak, the chicken(pollo arrosto), rabbit(coniglio pappardelle). All dishes were great tasting — ate absolute everything on my plate, as did the wife who is the world’s pickiest eater. Wine selection great and affordable to have several glasses. Desserts are a must — also all made in-house. Our favorite dessert is the crème brûlée. This is our go-to date night restaurant for upscale local Italian, located in a very unassuming shopping strip right next to our neighborhood. Love supporting excellent local biz like this.

This place is AWESOME! My husband and I are big foodies and fortunately di Paolo is right around the corner. We have been there a few times and it never disappoints. Last time I had the halibut, which was amazing, and my most memorable meal was the short ribs. Delicious!

Good possibilities. Despite the somewhat obscure location, Cozy and warm, nice neighborhood ambience. Zagat rated. Comprehensive wine list, everything from $ 8 a glass to $ 400 a bottle. Loved the lobster risotto. But hey. I know you’re busy. I know I’m not a regular. But please, at least pretend to be nice. Welcome me in, offer me a menu, a napkin and silverware, another glass of wine, take the dirty dishes away. Even Delta says they appreciate me and thank me for flying them as they cram me in my tiny seat;)

First time here and we will be back, Italian with an up scale twist. Everything is made from scratch. We had the bruschetta, daily oysters as apps. I had the cotoletta it was great and large.

I rate this a dove star because the food and service were both as good as it can be. The cost is a bit high(check out the menu), but you can order half dishes, which was plenty for me. I order a half order of the lasagna and it was wonderful. The noodles are glade and incredibly thin. Really outstanding. Though the experience was very good and the staff is very nice and helpful, the restaurant is a bit too formal for me. We might pop back in for a very special occasion. Reservations are preferred, as we had to wait to be seated after the people behind us came in who had a reservation. Also, Unilocal’s profile says dress is casual. .. I would say business casual to as dressy as you like.

The most amazing lamb shank I have ever had… ever. This is my new favorite place… I was wary of writing this review as I don’t want the masses to know about this gem. My bf had the duck pasta(not sure of the exact name) and it was also amazing. I ate the leftover the next day and were sad when they were gone. I am dying to go back and try the pizza… although I’m not sure if id be able to refrain from ordering that lamb again. Wine was great, service was great, I will most definitely be back

We went here last night to have a New Years dinner. I was expected great Italian food based on the reviews. Well we were surprised that the food was nothing to rave about and definitely was not the best Italian food we have tasted. The pasta with clams and shrimp did not taste freshly made. The veal scallopini was over cooked and very tough and did not have much taste. The olives/almonds and wine were good as well as the desert but overall we were disappointed in the quality of the food. I gave it a 3 stars since the service and atmosphere were good. It is unfortunate but we have to scratch this one off the list.

This was our first visit to di Paolo. We were excited to try this restaurant because of the great reviews. Overall the atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was friendly. We were a party of eight so we ordered a variety of dishes on the menu. This restaurant offers half and full orders. The majority of us got the full orders and were astounded at how small the portions were for the price, the meals were $ 20 to $ 25 and higher. Average food and very small portions. Needless to say we all left di Paolo’s hungry. Disappointed to say the least.

Food is really good here but the service is severely lacking. The hostess and waitresses act like they dread having to wait on people.

Awesome! Never settle for a chain Italian place again after eating here. Food and service were fantastic, will be back.

This restaurant is located in a strip mall, but don’t let that discourage you. The atmosphere is actually very nice and they serve some of the best authentic Italian food in the area in my opinion. Service: The service is excellent. The server we had last night was very knowledgeable about the wine and did a great job all night. Food: The bread service to start with is delicious and a nice touch. The pizzas are honestly not that good, but the entrees are fantastic. I loved that you could order half sizes for half the cost as well. Price: Pizza starts at $ 14 and entrees range from $ 13– $ 20 on average. The variety of wines priced low to high and the option to order half size entrees allow you to make it a cheap night or expensive night. Overall: This is one of our favorites in this part of town. Since this area has lots of families, it’s important to note that you probably don’t want to take young kids here. It’s very quiet, so we get a babysitter for our 1 and 4 year old when we go here, but to each his own.

Is this place serious with their prices and portions? If you eat here, I hope you aren’t too hungry, and I hope you’re willing to shell out mucho dinero for overpriced morsels. Not sure if I would ever give this place another try. A lot of other options that won’t break the bank.

Just tried this place tonight and it was great! Ordered the 12in pepperoni/cheese pizza, Chicken piccata, Shrimp linguini alfredo, oysters, calamari– and of course, Italian wine. They were all really good. My family was very pleased with the taste and portions. We also had a couple cannolis for dessert and they are REALLY good! They taste like they may just be made in-house.

I went near opening and was seated. There is a large creepy painting staring at you as you eat, which is classy, but but not impressive. To begin, the food was a rollercoaster between horror and an insult to Italy and actually rather good. The service was abysmal, perhaps the worse«fine dining» service I’ve ever seen in my life. We’ll go over that in a second, but first, the food. The bruschetta was, technically, a bruschetta but what we had was known as avocado toast anywhere else. While good, it is very hard to say definitely that it was anything other than literally avocado and toast. Moving to the next course, my partner had the special crab dish, which was soft shell crab, along with the tagliatelle con verdure. The tagilatelle was good, a simple light dish. The soft shell crab was lacking seasoning or flavor, either they refused to season it or the crab’s quality is in question, either way it had to go back as unappetizing. I had the pappardelle con sugo di carne, the bolognese had a horribly off-putting color and was a like a paste. You couldn’t distinguish the meat within it, as if it had been either previously frozen or boiled to a paste and reconstituted several times. Authentic bolognese has a dull red color, while this was an off-orange, either indicating their vegetable content was higher than the tomato or beef/veal. It lacked seasoning and was bland. The noodles as well, lacked any kind of salt, as if they were boiled in plain water. I had to drown in the cheese provided at the table. These things are, to the average person who hasn’t had authentic italian food, a non-issue and would trudge along, but the wait service is the real«never coming back moment.» The key to any good service is to be as invisible as possible. The water glasses were refilled only to half, causing constant interruption over and over again, as the waiter in charge of water was I assume justifying his position by constantly refilling the small glasses in half. The waiter himself had enthusiasm, but was apathetic to the course of the meal. Salad forks were not removed, menus were left on the table, along with plates, while you could easily expect to keep your water glass half full throughout the entire event. Which would be fine, say down at forum in somewhere not pretending to be authentic fine dining. It’s not in Alpharetta, it’s in Roswell, in a strip mall, and fits the location well. I wouldn’t recommend. di Paolo has reached out and would like me to clarify that their mailing address is Alpharetta, however in checking the map, it is indeed inside of Roswell on the south side. The city limits for Alpharetta are several miles away. It’s good to know because of GPS reasons.

Pretty sure this is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta… which I try to keep secret because it’s such a gem. Everything is awesome, including the wine list. I always get a glass of Super Tuscan, a half cheese platter and a half order of whatever pasta I am in the mood for! Lasagna is the bomb. Intimate setting.

This is my favorito Italian restaurant in Atlanta. On most of my visits I order a salad and a half order of pappardelle with sugo de carne and. their flourless chocolate cake with Gelato. Yesterday I decided to be adventurous and I order the lamb Schack with risotto and it was fabulous. We shared a pumkin cheese cake with White chocolate that was wonderful. The Service attention we had from Justin was excelent from the beginning to the end. Most clientele are regulars. and live close by.

How had I never been here before? I’d bookmarked it ages ago, reading from Addy and Emily what a good place it has been for years. Finally, when we had a date night but no real plans, it became the obvious choice. I didn’t make a reservation for a Tuesday night, but it was actually a pretty busy spot, so I’d recommend that in the future. We were seated promptly, but most of the tables were full. There was more than one larger party, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The server took extra time to explain things since it was our first visit. We started with two glasses of prosecco. We also intended to get the fig appetizer, but we ended up being glad that she didn’t hear Jimmy order it since we instead went with a salad, a pasta, and a main, all for sharing. We chose the insalata con cuore di palma(mixed greens, hearts of palm, tomato, egg, crispy prosciutto, creamy shallot vinaigrette), the butternut squash ravioli, and the cotoletta(bone in veal chop, cabbage-leek«carbonara», pancetta, chive). For the salad and the pasta, they divided the portion in the kitchen and served us our own plates. For the veal, they presented the one dish between us and gave us both plates to serve ourselves. While this may be standard service for a place of this caliber, I still appreciate the thoughtfulness and training that goes into these details. The food was divine. Solidly good combinations of flavor and texture. Everything was so well done that it seemed terribly simple. The flavors were rich, but not overly so. The only thing that I would’ve changed was the soupiness of the«carbonara» sauce for the cabbage-leek — just a little too much cream. But even that wasn’t enough to keep me from cleaning my plate. The sharing of the three items was just enough for us to fill sated but not stuffed. I look forward to returning for our date nights in the future! Easily the«best» Italian restaurant that we’ve encountered in the metro area.
