I was so excited to try their food after reading the reviews. We ordered a lot of food. The fire cracker, king and I, Mad Max Special, Beef w Japenese Noodles, fried rice and more… nothing was good. Well the shrimp tempura dinner was ok. The service was very good. But since the food isn’t good, we will not be back.

After going back to Kiku across from Avalon today, I have to say it was well worth it for the extra $ 3. Ru Sans is ok, but not the same quality or near the variety of Kiku.

The suchi and beer here are both excellent. The service is impeccable. This place is a real treat.

Before visiting Ru Sans, I never even imagined that a vegetarian like myself could experience sushi. However, to my excitement, this place happily serves many vegetarian options(an entire section on their menu!). The staff is amazing, the service is quick, and the kitchen never minds when you ask to modify items on the menu. I’ve never eaten at the lunch buffet, but every time I go with someone who does, they always leave full and happy. This restaurant is thoroughly satisfying for meat eaters and vegetarians alike.

This place was good. The sushi was fresh and tasted excellent. Service was a bit slow given that is was not very busy. I thought the«rules» on the menu was a bit over the top, but was glad they did list how they divide tips with the sushi chefs. Overall a great experience.

Great Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Teriyaki… Yummy! The cost is a bit more than other places however, you get what you pay for. Ru San’s is the way to go, if you want delicious Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Teriyaki.

The door greeter was very welcoming and sat us quickly. The restaurant has a family feeling where most regulars come in for Japanese cooked food. We, on the other hand, came in for sushi and Sushi was what we got! I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the Katsu roll, both rolls were packed with fresh ingredients. Every bite was heaven to my mouth. I’m usually not a fan of franchise restaurants due to the fact that they lack consistency but Ru San has it! They offer great food for a great price along with flavor. The best part is they are literally 1.2 miles from my office!

We went on a random Tuesday around 3:30. It’s one of the few spots you can get sushi at that time of day, many restaurants close between lunch and dinner. I must say this was a surprise. It was just one couple and my sons and me. Service was polite and efficient. The menus are a bit overwhelming with the myriad of choices. I love variety but I would have preferred a more streamlined menu. If you have an idea of what you want then you’re fine. But if you’re hungry and«open» for anything then you may get a tad overwhelmed. Nonetheless, we ordered chicken terryiaki dinner, fried salmon dinner and 2 sushi rolls. Each of us has miso soup and salad. DELICIOUS!!! No complaints at all. Everything was prepared and presented wonderfully. We’ll definitely retun.

Cheap tasting buffet sushi. If you like all-you-can eat grocery store quality sushi then this is your place. My kids liked the miso soup.

The Lunch Buffet special is phenomenal. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere with a good amount of variety. They had all my old favorites and some of my now new favorites.

The grocery store has better sushi then this place. Probably the dirtiest sushi restaurant every including the staff themselves. Don’t recommend this place nor will I be returning.

Its been a whole year since Ive been to Ru Sans on 7÷24÷14. In my previous review I said«its so good, I cant go back, I eat too much and end up in a carb fog». But today I went back. I stumbled in, sat at the bar, hit the sushi, and left. No one saw me, no one questioned me, no guilt trip. I was there and I didn’t care. Ok so I piled it high! Alright already, so I doubled down on the rice instead of the fried stuff! Gimme a break, I was gone a whole year, I did my time, I paid my dues, I gotta right to have a nice lunch don’t I? Hey get off my back and get off my case! I was there for like 30 mins. I only had 2 plates. Leave me alone, I’m an old man, just let me enjoy my Ru Sans in peace!

I have been a Rusan’s regular now for several years in two different cities(Nashville now Atlanta). I often come for the lunch buffet and have been hooked ever since. Not the largest selection out there, but they make up for it in quality and price. Their salmon nigiri is easily my favorite thing they offer and humorously, the simplest. Dinner menu is substantial and offer some wildcat rolls if you’re up for something new.

It’s generally not too busy, but don’t let that scare you. The sushi is very fresh and tasty and they have a large variety of offerings in addition to the sushi. You will leave very satisfied. Their menu is typical of a sushi place, but the quality is great.

Nice convenient location and friendly staff. But I don’t want to go to a Chinese restaurant and here top 40 on the radio while watching Paternity Court on TV. The worst part was the food. It’s an awfully small buffet for $ 11 a person. But that turned out to be a blessing because the food was bad. The sushi tasted like it may have been good when it was fresh. The tempura had a bit of a soggy texture. The food that was supposed to be hot was luke warm to room temperature.

Perspective: LUNCHBUFFET — JAPANESE Located not too far off the Windward parkway strip. They have a lunch buffet. There was some nigiri sushi — Tuna, Salmon and Red Snapper. About 10 different sushi rolls. There were noodles, fried rice, tempura vegetables, salad, miso soup, and chicken wings? All the food was very good. The miso was ok. The service was very helpful, smiling, nice. Lots of regulars by the looks of it. Not the fanciest place, but the food and service is very good. I highly recommend for lunch.

«I’m turning Japanese I think I’m turning Japanese I really think so» The Vapors Okay, I have been going to Ru Sans a bit too often not to be considered a fan, so I guess I need to give an update, as well as an additional star. The fact that any sushi restaurant can hold the attention of a vegetarian(not pescetarian, folks) tells you a lot about the selection here. Ru Sans actually offers a lot of vegetarian options. I am a fan of their Volkswagen Maki, an asparagus and cream cheese roll, fried and served with an aioli sauce. They also have great selections of vegetarian appetizers, tempura, maki, yakatori, sushi, and entrees. This location isn’t as «edgy» as the Edgewood location, catering more to families and suburbanites. I’m think I’m turning into a Ru Sans fan, I really think so!
