Can’t really complain. This place is a chain and falls into it. This place was clean as typically seen at other SS locations. The food… ordered the Frisco melt and a variety of shakes. Everything came out fine. No complaints or problem.

Will never go back. Waited in the drive through line over an hour and when I finally got to the window they gave me the wrong meal… Then they asked me to pull around and they would bring it out to me, after waiting 25 minutes in front I finally went in and they had the nerve to ask me, «What did you have again?» Oh and the restaurant was completely empty too… AWFULAWFUL. Wish I could give them ZERO or NEGATIVE stars.

The double Steakburger with cheese still remains a treat and is completely underrated due to S&S being a chain. If this was a boutique burger bar, the ratings would be off the charts. Fifth star withheld because Steak & Shake suffers from the drawbacks that go with being a chain. It’s still a treat to come here.

Wow. Combine amazingly long waits with kinda rude service and you have one terrible restaurant. I have been waiting on this shake in my car 23 minutes now. Sure hope it’s good! I highly recommend finding another option.

This Streak ‘n Shake has THEWORST drive-thru. I’m not a big Steak ‘n Shake fan, except for their milkshakes… I can’t resist. I drive right by this location on the way home from my daughter’s pediatrician, so I usually stop and treat myself if she’s gotten shots that day(I deserve a treat because I have to hold her down and listen to her scream during and after her shots, plus she falls asleep in the car and lengthening the trip home with a stop lets her rest a little longer!!). I’ve now done this 3 appointments running and every single time I’m in the drive-thru for a minimum of 15 minutes. And sometimes, all this idling wakes up my sleepy little daughter and causes her to scream and cry until we start moving again. Which takes for-freakin-ever. Now, I don’t know about you, but to me the point of a drive-thru is convenience and efficiency, both of which are completely and totally lost when it takes that freaking long to get whatever you ordered. I suspect, since the food is made to order, it’s the food orders that cause the problem. Particularly because when I finally do get my milkshake, it’s all melty like it’s been sitting there waiting for me while other cars are plopped in front of the window for 8 minutes each waiting on who knows what. I’m not a huge fan of drive-thrus in general — if there’s more than 2 cars I just park and go in — but this particular instance I don’t want to bother my poor newly-vaccinated daughter by dragging her out of the car and of course I can’t just leave her in there. So the drive-thru it is. I keep thinking«this time will be different» — but after 3 times waiting FOR-EV-ER, no more milkshake treats for me. Ugh. Stay away. Side note to Steak ‘n Shake — how about having people pull up and park, and your employees bring out the food, when it’s taking more than 2 – 3 minutes for an order? Why do the poor unfortunate souls stuck behind someone with an order that’s taking forever have to pay with their precious time? Take a note from other drive-thrus — be QUICK, be EFFICIENT, and move the car whose order is clogging up the ENTIRE line away from the window so the rest of us can get our orders fresh! Oh, and having to wait on hold for more than 10 minutes on your«customer feedback» phone line? That’s some BS.

If I could load in clip art and carve off ¾ of this one star, I would. This place was horrible!!! I stopped in here last night for a quick bite after being out late. Ordering was a challenge because the dude behind the speaker was obviously not having a good night or was tired or was just an a-hole in general. When I got to the window, a whole different dude took my money, then original a-hole dude comes back and asks if somebody took my money!!! Oh Lordt! This place had the worst customer service shy of the county jail visitors center(don’t ask how I know). Never returning, I’ll just stay hungry next time, I could stand to lose a pound or two anyway.

I am so irritated right now. I ordered some food in the drive thru tonight and all I ordered were 2 combos with drinks and 2 shakes. l got 2 burgers that were completely plain, meat, cheese and bread. The drive thru attendant never asked what I wanted on the burgers, so I guess that means I don’t want anything on them? What the hell? I used to work at a steak n shake(in the drive thru no less) when I was a teenager so in many ways, I feel like I know what to expect more than most. I feel like the manager on duty should be wearing a headset, so they can make sure the drive thru attendant is asking the right questions. For $ 20 to mess up my order, I will not be back, ever.

Coming from California, I had to try this place considering it was my first experience. Overall, it was similar to a fast food Denny’s. I had the Frisco Melt and an Oreo Cookies N Cream Shake. The Frisco melt is on buttery toasted sourdough, very greasy, and tastes similar to a Sourdough Jack at Jack In The Box on the West Coast. The shake really didn’t taste much like Oreo nor Cookies N Cream, rather a vanilla shake with some crumbs of Oreo, which tasted HINTS of what I ordered. Overall, the service and food was nothing to write home about. Would I return again in the future? Sure — but it wouldn’t be my FIRST choice.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. This will be based on two visits, as I like to give places a second chance, but the second time was just as bad as the first. 1. Around 11pm, I decided to stop at the drive-thru after a long day of rehearsals. When I pulled up to the speaker, no one greeted me. I waited, made my presence known by calling out, and still no one. Then I drove up to the window, where there was no one. One employee walked by the window, saw me, and kept going. So I decided to drive around and go through again, thinking maybe they didn’t hear the car sensor go off in their headset or something. Again, no one greeted me at the speaker. This time when I went to the window, I honked, and still no one. By this point in the evening, I was hungry enough to go inside and inquire about the situation, and to get my order to go from the counter. The woman at the takeaway counter did apologize and gave me my milkshake for free, which I appreciated. But then it took 20 minutes for them to make my order, and five more minutes after that, because they forgot something. I understand that they take longer than a fast food restaurant, but for that time, I could have sat down and just ordered from the table. It wasn’t even a complicated order. Three sliders and fries. It should not have taken 25 minutes. 2. After a performance, three of my castmates and I decided to go for some late night food and milkshakes. Again, this is a little past 11pm. At this time, they were extremely busy, nearly every table full, and a line of people waiting at the door. I can understand that we had to wait to be seated, that’s fine. Except for the fact that while we were waiting, there were at least 3 tables with no people(which just needed cleaned off), and multiple employees just standing around, not doing anything. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, and during that time, NOONE greeted us, or anyone else waiting, to apologize for the wait, tell us it would be a few minutes, nothing. The manager was behind the counter, and he didn’t even say anything to us. They just ignored the group of people at the door until they felt like getting around to cleaning off a table and seating us. When we were finally seated, we waited for 15 minutes, and no one had come to our table to even take our drink orders. Finally I got up to find a server, frustrated to find that other people who came after us had already had their orders taken and at least had their drinks. The only good part of the visit was that when I talked to a server, she said she would take care of us(even though it wasn’t her area) and took our orders right away. I seriously wasn’t going to tip at all last night, but this woman(I wish I had gotten her name) made sure to take care of us the best she could, so she deserved a tip. After she took our orders, it took at least another 30 minutes before the food came out. By the time we got our food, most of the other tables had finished and left the restaurant. So, from the time we walked in the door, until we were able to eat, it took an hour. That is way too long for a restaurant like this. To top it off, my steakburger was only barely warm, and dry looking, obviously showing that it had been sitting for a couple of minutes before it got to our table. The only two good points of this visit were the waitress who helped us, despite not being in her area that night, and the Nutella milkshake. It was delicious. Those two things have earned the 1 star in this review.

Worst drive through I have ever been to. Every time I go, I wait 10 minutes or longer to place my order, and sit in line for 30 to get my food. If I wanted to do all that, I would go sit down and eat. Seriously, they need to get it together. I don’t know how they stay in business running a drive through like that.

I went through the drive thorough after sitting in it for 30 minutes I got my food which the fries were so under-seasoned and BLAND. I also got a milkshake, they NEVER and I mean NEVER put the lid on those drinks. I’ve heard it happen before multiple times from friends or innocent bystanders and the day came where it finally happened to me. Got home, turned off car got my pulled my drink out the cup holder and BAM all of the sticky, messy STAINING shake went all over my seats, jeans you name it. Thank god I had leather seats and not cloth because if I did I most likely would have sent a bill to their manager. Regardless of the seats being leather it’s still incredibly sticky and ANNOYING. Like come on, you get paid $ 7.25 to put a LID on a cup. Do it correctly!!! I’m so over this.

My third time at this location and each time has been horrible. The service is almost non existent, the tables and chairs are never clean. They are always apologizing about not wiping stuff down. I swear a requirement here is «must be unwilling to work» «attitudes are a must!». Been here 15 mins and still haven’t gotten my drink. Each time the food comes out its just slopped together. Disappointing.

2nd time there. First time service was slow. This time time staff was milling around. I don’t know if it was because kitchen was slow or if it was the norm. We got up and left as no one came to our table. Went to Fuddruckers! Won’t go back.

I’ve been sitting in the drive through for the last 20 minutes with only 4 cars in front of me. I’m sitting at the window as I’m typing and still no one has come to tell me how long or to ask for me to pay… I find it quite ridiculous that someone should have to wait this long for 2 milkshakes… this is one of the reasons I don’t come to steak and shake

Stopped in at 10pm for a bite after a long day of flying from Sacramento to Atlanta. Ordered the veggie melt with no cheese, fries and a diet coke. Service was a bit scattered but probably because the place was busy. Veggie melt was supposed to be guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and portobello mushriooms. It was missing the mushrooms when it arrived. Took a while before I could get someone’s attention. They eventually brought a small cup of mushrooms out to put on the sandwich. They looked like regular mushrooms that you would put on a steak, not portobellos, which are larger. Fries were skinny but freshly made and crispy. Anyway, the sandwich was a bit greasy, the service was a bit slow but for $ 7.25 I couldn’t complain. Also, they are open 24 hours which was a big plus in my book.

Time & Date of visit: Sunday, 8÷31÷2014 Party Size: 4 Location/Ambiance: It seems that most Steak n Shake location’s I’ve visited around the Atlanta area are usually understaffed I think. This location is no exception. The servers would greatly appreciate some bus boys to clear the tables upon entering and glancing around the restaurant trying to judge how long of a wait you would have. It seemed pretty busy, about half packed with a short line of people doing take out at the register and a couple of cars in the drive through for a Sunday night. Service: Our server, Owens, seem pretty busy juggling his tables and manning the register but was still attentive for our table. There wasn’t a problem to flag him down as he passed by for any refills. He was also smart to give us a pitcher of coke as three of us ordered a glass and didn’t mind refilling it ourselves. I think everyone dining here or getting food to go, should have the expectations that the food is cooked to order. Granted there is room for improvement I believe. I also noticed that the manager was helping out on the grill most of the night. Maybe a few part timers as bus boys and food runners could help out the pacing for the weekends. Our server was polite and friendly, especially when we asked for the check to be split three ways. Food/Beverages: *Frisco Melt: My «usual», the sauces, buttery toast, & american and swiss cheese seems to come together well. I don’t think I ever had a bad one for all the times I ordered one at any steak n shake location. I try not to think of how bad this is for me, maybe I can get a low carb option wrapped in lettuce instead? The shoe string fries weren’t seasoned which I appreciate as I actually like using their cajun seasoning in my ketchup instead. Also, the fries weren’t the least bit greasy. At least that’s a plus for a burger place. * Butterfinger milk shake: A bit rich on the milkshake itself with bits of butterfinger crumbled throughout the entire glass. I found that bits of the butterfinger would clog up the straw, I think it’s best to just eat it like soft serve ice cream. Or maybe bring a boba tea straw with you, the normal straws won’t get you any where. Be prepared to be asked where you got that from though. Tip: I don’t really use coupons, but hey why waste paper. The coupons that are sent in the mail can actually be used per check when you pay up front. BOGO milkshakes? Yes please. Total Bill w/Tip & Tax: $ 23.31. Two entrees w/two soft drinks and a milk shake. Summary: Depending on the time of day, service is usually a hit or miss like other locations. If your doing take out, I think ordering inside would be a better idea to make sure everything is there or no extra surprises. First experience here was good.

Most everyone knows Steak n Shake and their food. So this rating is based upon the worst SnS food and the best SnS food you’ve ever had. Seriously, I’ve never had a bad meal in all my time of eating at different SnS resturants over the years. But the one I had today at the North Point location was deplorable. Time was 11:30am, so the food should have been fresh. Order two combos, a Frisco Melt and a Double cheeseburger. The pencil fries were poor, but more importantly, both of the sandwiches were not good at all. My wife and I did not even finish half of the sandwiches. They seemed old and dry… I’ve never had that at a SnS… ever. Finally, the Dr. Pepper that we got was also flat. That happens, I understand… but it was just the cherry on top of a horrible experience.

I am not a fan of these types of food joints, but I was craving a milk shake and so I thought I’d wander to Steak ‘n Shake since they have their ½ Price Happy Hour on shakes and drinks. The drive-thru service was fairly quick and okay. What I didn’t like was the mediocre food preparation process. I clearly saw the associate wipe my milk shake, and my thought was, «Oh boy, this is going to be sticky.» Well… Although she did wipe the darn thing down, the lid was still loose and my shake was drippy when she handed it to me. ??? Do you seriously think some napkins wrapped around my shake will hide the fact that you are a sloppy associate? Other than this fiasco, there was nothing wrong with my salted caramel shake and fries. At least the associate threw enough ketchup packets in my bag even before I requested some. lol.

For the record, I don’t usually like Steak N Shake, but I know for certain now, that this is one of the few reliable locations where you can actually get a milkshake at any time. Late at night? Yes. Before lunch? Why, yes, right around 10:30am because no other places(nope, not Chikfila, Zaxby’s, Cold Stone Creamery not even Flip Burger Boutique with their fancy-schmancy shakes) are open until 11am. McDonald’s milkshakes aren’t even worth pursuing because they’re nasty. Gentlemen, this tip is important in case your wife, baby mama or lady friend wants a milkshake at the butt crack of dawn or at some ungodly hour: Go to Steak N Shake. I’ve probably said too much, but let me preface this review with a few things. 1) I’m not preggerz that I needed a milkshake before lunch hour. 2) I wish I could say I was a regular fatty who regularly drinks milkshakes for breakfast, and if it were true, I’d be making them at home to be more fiscally responsible. 3) This unusual craving pertained to the other Steak N Shake review from last night: Besides how convenient it is to get a milkshake at any time of the day, this particular Steak N Shake is actually attentive. As in, I pull up to the drive-thru and I get greeted immediately. At 10:30am, there was no one ahead of me, so I patiently waited at the window and in 5 minutes, the nice lady greeted me with, «Sorry that took so long with the milkshake.» Pssh. She thought that was long? She obviously doesn’t know what it’s like to wait 30 minutes at a drive-thru just to order. I thanked her graciously and called her a «lifesaver» because I’ve been wanting a Hershey’s Special Dark milkshake since last night. And it was everything I wanted it to be: cold, creamy, a bit icy, and not overpoweringly sweet. Instant gratification in 5 minutes. That’s enough.
