As an old school local and dirt bike rider born in San Diego County, I highly recommend this establishment. Unlike many shops and mechanics elsewhere, these good folks are unafraid to take on the ugliest repair jobs, and they’ll wrench on ANYTHING, including 72cc Chinese minibike motors like the one on my ’78 Honda Z50 Mini Trail FrankenBike(assembled from multiple components never originally intended to work together). While I was in their yard and garage, I saw a PWC(personal watercraft) which resembled an air boat, and a classic«Jet Board” — a longboard with a motor in it, a rare piece of surfing history. Dirt bikes, road bikes, recreational toys, tractors and other farm equipment, tools like chainsaws and weed whackers, the folks at this shop will fix ANYTHING with a motor, and they’ll do it right, taking time to explain what they did to customers who are less mechanically inclined. I usually do all the work on my bike, since it’s small, generally uncomplicated, and I’m handy with tools. There are minibike & monkeybike forums on the web as well, with clear concise videos and tutorials available, but I was leery about tearing into this Lifan motor on my bike, as many mechanics in this county are equally leery. I don’t blame them either: one dude at a forum ordered a Lifan manual, and when the manual arrived he discovered it was written entirely in Chinese, LOL. No worries, these folks at Alpine Motorsports saved the day for me, even though the mechanic who wrenched on my little offroad thrasher admitted that the repair job«was a f____g nightmare.» LOL. I knew it would be, which is why I took it to this shop: I figured that if ANYBODY could fix it, these folks could, and that’s exactly what they did, for a reasonable price, which is why I’m writing this favorable review. There is one minor downside to conducting business with these good folks: they are so busy that there is a backlog of bikes in the garage, as well as various other recreational toys, farm & ranch equipment, etc., etc. But THAT is the hallmark of a good mechanic, this sort of backlog, so chill out and view the whole process as a Zen exercise in patience, the results are well worth waiting for, as opposed to a frustrating and increasingly-expensive ordeal at the hands of self-proclaimed speed demons with wrenches, 10 – 4? Far better to get the job done right, in the long run you’ll enjoy more time riding and less time hearing bull$h!t excuses, LOL. That’s what I like most about these folks at Alpine Motorsports: they won’t hesitate to tell you in a straightforward manner what the deal is, how much it will cost to replace worn-out junk, etc. If only modern scumbag politicians were as honest, this country would be a better place, aye? Here are a couple of links to a photo hosting website where the latest shots of my little offroad thrasher can be seen… I tried uploading these pics here at this site with my obsolete Jurassic Desktop Computer, but it was an epic fail, unlike the actual rides documented in these links. These links show my monkeybike tackling the Northern & Eastern Spurs of the Otay Mountain Truck Trail, another primo riding venue for green sticker OHVs(Off Highway Vehicles, including dirt bikes). The Western Spur has been freshly graded, and it is pure monkeybiking gold. Local dirt bikers who want to experience this fantastic wilderness venue before it is ruled off limits, get out there NOW or forever hold your peace. Access the Northern Spur from the parking lot of the Pio Pico RV Resort on Otay Lakes Road; access the Eastern Spur a short distance beyond the San Diego Rod & Gun Club on Marron Valley Road, which lies off Old Highway 94 east of the market in Dulzura. Edit: The Northern Spur shots are jumbled up, but the Eastern Spur shots are in reverse order, so if you work your way backwards through the assortment, you will see my most recent ride as it unfolded, until I ran out of film in the cheesy disposable camera, 10 – 4? No worries, my primo monkeybike ride continued clear to Doghouse Junction, where all three spurs of the Otay Mountain Truck Trail meet, just below the summit of the range. As far as the Northern Spur shots go, use elevation as your guide, LOL. I’ve spent many days and nights on Otay Mountain, also known more correctly in geological terms as the San Ysidro Mountains, since it IS a range and not just one peak. It’s BLM land, supposedly belonging to the people, so one can legally camp on this island in the sky, but campfires are verboten, 10??? Meh, you offroad heroes will figure it out, but don’t dally before your visit or you’ll be looking at nothing but pavement, and perhaps endless mile upon mile of freakin’ tract housing, LOL.

Happy I can be this lovely companies first reviewer. They are GREAT. The owner showed up with his truck and loaded up my Quad like it was no hassle, took it away and called me within a week with a very good estimate. We are not done yet but so far, this company has been a ‘Get er’ done’ company with so much assistance to me as I can’t do this stuff myself, I was overwhelmed trying to get ranch vehicles fixed as my husband passed away and with a fiasco with a company near me(read other reviews to see that) I was just ‘done. Well Alpine Motorsports from owners sweet and helpful wife to himself being so much of a get it done guy… came to rescue on our work horse quad which an employee had abused and misused. Thanks so much you guys, I am sure Ill be as happy with the repairs as I’ve been with the ability to help me out . Our horses and ranch will appreciate it too!(Estimate is good so far too)
