We were on our way home to Arizona when we found this place. The atmosphere is very cool and the service is outstanding. The food was great!!! We will definitely be visiting this place every time we go to California.

Good food and beer! Great atmosphere, kid friendly, good service. Sat outside this time and really enjoyed it. I love having a really good option for dinner/lunch in East County.

What a gem! We stopped for lunch after visiting Lions, Tigers and Bears. We selected this restaurant at random and so glad we did. Great selections of beers and the menu has something for everyone. Watching the food come out of the kitchen, it was hard to decide what to order because everything looked and smelled amazing. My friend had the Chicken taquito’s and raved about them. I am watching my weight so I ordered Chicken Gorgonzola salad. It was so delicious with pears, dried cherry’s, walnuts and an amazing dressing. The portions are very generous as well. I’ll be visiting this place every time I’m in the area.

Very cute spot; stopped in for a late lunch after a great weekend of camping. Cool rustic atmosphere, and pretty view out the back of trees and flowers. Got the Black and Blue pizza w/steak, blue cheese and portabella mushrooms, which was really good. Loved the medley salad with roasted red peppers, portabella mushrooms and goat cheese with a great balsamic vinaigrette. Nice assortment of beer on tap and wines. My daughter got the fish and chips which were good. Other daughter tried the burger kids meal but was pretty small — just a slider size burger; two sliders would have been nice; or description that it’s slider-size. Everyone loved the brownie ala mode, though!

Been planning to come in for years… first time today. Cool little rustic spot… got lucky and got a spot in the middle of lunch. Was immediately greeted and welcomed by the bartender… taller guy in black shirt. Seems simply enough right? well, making someone feel appreciated for coming into your establishment goes a long way. Hospitality is a big thing for most. So, I get a menu and have a look… to be honest I was feeling hopeful regarding this food, not because of the place but because it’s Alpine… and besides a couple spots, Alpine is not known for the greatest food fare around. The bartender came right over while in midst of engaging with his patrons(the regs) at the bar and it was apparent they all liked talking to this dude and he them. Trading stories and people laughing… made me want a beer but alas back to work I go. I order a wrap, I always order extra turkey… protieeeeen bro. The bartender brings it out a short time later and the thing is stacked with turkey… why is this so hard for other places to do?. It was a great wrap, avocado and bacon etc the only critique might be offering a side on the healthier side besides slaw. I eat and the bartender between serving drinks, running over to other tables was checking to see if I needed anything. So yeah this spot is pretty cool and the service was outstanding… Alpine Tavern your bartender is a great employee… don’t lose him.

OMG this place is so great! I had the fish and chips and it was the best I have ever had. The dinning was charming and the staff very accommodating. Our server always checked back to see if we needed anything else. We were going into San Diego for dinner but got to hungry. This place is a dinning destination!!!

I seriously cannot get enough of this place! The food, the ambiance, and the service is fantastic. They have a very nice beer and wine selection, with a few ciders as well, and don’t even get me started on the pizza! If you love cheese definitely get the 5 cheese, although the pepperoni is great too. There is a wide selection of appetizers too, my favorite is the soft pretzel with jalapeño cheese sauce. Best bar food in town by far! Definitely worth a visit.

We’ve come here twice in the last two days. If you’re out in Alpine this is a fantastic place to stop. The Restaurant has a rustic feel. It’s like being in big bear. We love the pear cider here. And our first night we enjoyed the medley salad. It was one of the best flavor profile salads we have ever eaten. Tonight Scott had the chili which was good. We also tried the fried zucchini. What we liked about it, was the fact that the zucchini was fresh, they have their own homemade beer batter and it was light and fluffy and crispy and delicious.

Excellent food with generous portions, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Bar is very unique, very friendly staff. Their tap beers are ice cold served in a frosty mug. I have been to the Alpine Tavern and Grill about 8 times, always has been consistent with good service and quality food. Orders are served promptly with no long delays, I have never been disappointed and plan to return soon!

I love this place. We eat here once a week but would eat here more often if we weren’t embarrasstoed to be seen there by the staff more than once a week! Service is good. Beer selection is good and the food is great. I love the fried chicken sandwich buffalo style and the mozzarella sticks.

Food was what you would expect from an upscale bar. Alpine has a really good local drinking scene so this place doesn’t dissapoint. Ordered a club sandwich, was pretty dry and the meat was definitely lunch meat quality. Not homemade by any means, but not bad. Wife had one of their salads and it was a healthy portion with some great looking leafy greens, but the salads description had said that there was cabbage and much to the suprise of my wife this salad didn’t have any on/in it. With or without cabbage the salad would have been pretty good and it was. Service is on top of their game and made you feel right at home. A nice spot in Alpine to hang out and take a beautiful day in.

What a cute place! We had he Bloody Mary’s, which were pretty good although it wasn’t their specialty. We had the pretzel with jalapeño nacho cheese — it was delicious but not really big enough to share. We also shared the fried zucchini which was super good, they were very thick pieces and good when you dip them in ranch! I had the caprese salad which is pretty dang good! The dressing was tasty too! For dessert we shared the brownie, and it was warm, with a ton of vanilla ice cream and some whipped cream. It was really really good! The service was pretty awesome too!

In the middle of the high desert you will find a diamond in the ruff, that’s what my fortune cookie told me right before I found this gem! The service was adorably happy and prompt and the portion sizes enough to fill your belly for many meals. My dish tasted of pure rapture so much so that I found myself dissecting it for future, at home, consumption. Do not miss an opportunity to stop by a wonder of the world that has been truly lost in our history books.

Food and Beer was decent. Oddly enough the chicken sausage was better than the pork. Will try the BBQ if I am back in that neck of the woods.

We had high hopes for this place. We love the original alpine beer co. I was with a party of four and all of us were not satisfied. If you come here do yourself a favor and stick to drinks only. The food was horrible. We all ordered different plates and not one was half way edible. Stay away from the nachos, wings, pulled pork and chicken. The fries were good! Onion rings, not. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Probably not be back until i hear they step up their game.

It’s a rarity to find a restaurant that can please everyone every time, however, if there is such a place, the tavern is it. The tavern is a must go! I go here for lunch or dinner with my family once a week and everyone is always happy with their experience. Their food is always fresh, the portions are large and the beer choices are amazing. Food ranges from $ 10-$ 20 per plate and there are a lot of local brews on tap, tall $ 6 – 8. There is bar seating, booth tables and regular tall tables and chairs. The ambiance is nice with a bit of country chic décor. Wood and metal displays throughout and don’t forget the TVs for the sportsmen! Some of our tavern favorites are the tall cider, tall beers on tap, southwestern chicken salad, meatloaf sandwich, all of the wraps, the burgers, the tuna melt and of course, the warm Apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and caramel for dessert!

Wings, baseball and beer. What more can you ask for? Having spent a lot of time in Alpine as a youngster, it’s nice to get back every now and again. Met a group of people for drinks and dinner. I opted for buffalo wings and beer. One in the party said mild was pretty spicy, so I went with mild. Should’ve gone with hot. Still great flavor, though. The wings were cooked to perfection and were plenty juicy on the inside. We also went off menu and had them put together some buffalo ranch french fries. Outfrickinstanding! The beer was ice cold and they had playoff baseball on TV. I will definitely return, when in town, and attempt to work my way through the menu. Word has it they make a pretty good pizza too. Katie was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of.
