It’s amazing how much you can find in this small neighborhood hardware. The prices are always fair and the staff is consistently helpful. Why do we chase to the big stores far away when there is store like this so close by? I always regret it when I do and haven’t found what I was looking for, only to finally find it here!

Needed a part to hook up ice maker. They helped me out in a couple of minutes with the right part. Something neither Home Depot nor OSH could do.

Came here earlier today because we were trying to install a faucet and the supply lines were too short (turns out only one was so we returned the other). We thought about going to Home Depot but my boyfriend did not want to drive 20-​ish minutes for a few items. We looked online and Altadena Hardware was the closest place possibly carrying what we needed.
We arrived within 15 minutes of closing but we didn’t feel rushed to leave. We asked for the plumbing aisle and were directed there. The associate who helped us was very personable and answered the questions we had. The whole process to getting what we needed was smooth. Excellent customer service!
PARKING: There was plenty of parking in front of the store.
COST: Slightly more expensive than big name places like Home Depot, but if you live nearby and don’t want to drive far away for a few small items, this is the place to go!

We were planning ahead for the predicted extreme heat, and desperately needed a piece of plexiglass cut to fit an old glazed window that then needed an oval cut out of the center for the exhaust of a portable AC unit. We needed this for an elderly, housebound friend that is now confined to a wheelchair and who had no AC in her house. We called Home Depot and OSH and both said they’d cut the rectangle piece, but we were on our own for the most important part: the oval. I saw other reviews and called Altadena Hardware. Their staff were all over it! They cut it, and it fit PERFECTLY! I can’t thank Jimmy, Anthony and the other staff at Altadena Hardware enough. We will be shopping there from now on, even if it isn’t the closest hardware store to us. This is a true «can do» store!

Great neighborhood hardware store. They do not carry lumbar of any size, but most everything else there I’ve been able to fine. Great for the weekend Warrior, if not specialize professionals. The staff is friendly and though they have a lot of young high school interns, the older people know what their stuff. The kids are not bad, in fact quite friendly, they’re just not as knowledgeable due to lack of experience. It’s very convenient and pleasant.

I’ve gone to every hardware store in the Pasadena area, and this is by far my favorite. They always have what I need, and everyone who works there is very helpful. Multiple times I’ve been told to buy a cheaper option than the one I was planning on purchasing.

I am there all the time and I am always greeted with a smile and awesome help! This is one of the best staff teams I have come across. The owner is also amazing… has ordered special products for me and when my daughter thought she lost her favorite toy in the store he contacted me immediately. Way above and beyond!!!

I’m a big fan of hardware stores in general, but this one I love. Mostly because the staff is so extremely helpful, as others have noted. They jump in (when needed) to assist in solving your problem – twice, I had different employees suggest an ingenious solution to something I wanted to do. And the ideas worked! I felt empowered and supported. Personal and professional, Altadena Hardware is a great find.

Moved here a week ago and I have already been in three times! Customer Service is outstanding and a really amazing selection of items considering its size. Growing up my dad and grandfather owned a hardware store and just going in here I feel like I have stepped back in time — in a good way.

I love this place! I live right across the street so it is super convenient and WAY WORTH the few extra pennies to just be able to walk over and get whatever I need. The staff is very friendly and the service is outstanding, especially Anthony who is always so warm and polite. You can tell that his momma raised him right! LOL! I have 4 sons of my own but they’re all back east where I’m from. He doesn’t know this (until now) but its always a pleasure to interact with him because he gives me my little dose of motherly affection. :-) So from soup to nuts, these guys are knowledgeable and do it all. They are the real deal. I highly recommend that you support this gem of our community.

Sucks to write a review about a local spot but this place needs to focus on service when it’s prices are way higher than big retail spots. Remember that people have options and service is what counts. The owner is rude. Sad to say that this is the last time I will stop by here or send my friends there. I will drive to Home Depot and pay less for better service!

They are just super friendly and there is always someone around willing to help you.
They may not have a wide selection but they will probably have what you need.

I moved to the Altadena area about 6 months ago and of course had a ton of projects around the house. I stumbled across Altadena Hardware and was so glad I did! It’s like stepping back in time! Super friendly and knowledgable staff, great selection of products and competitve prices.
They mixed several colors of paint for me and even logged it in the computer in case I ever needed to buy more in the future. Now that’s service!
I look forward to being a loyal and satisfied customer for as long as I live in the area.
