This park was great. My daughter loved it and it had a lot to offer especially to a toddler. There are several play areas for different age play, but my 2 ½ year old played on it all and had a blast. From multiple slides, swings, seesaws, and climbing bars even a giant tire to play in all within a gated and shaded area. There are covered bench and table areas however there are no bathrooms. I am in the process of potty training my kid so having access to a restroom is kind of important. Luckily she still wears diapers so we got to play for a good 2 hours without worrying to much about the restroom but would be nice if they put a restroom in or at least a porter potty near bye. Won’t complain too much about the restroom lack of as most parks I go to do not have one. I think all the pro’s of this park out weight the con of not having a restroom near by. I added several pics be sure to check them out, they will give you a good idea of what to expect and what is available for play… most of all they have a huge single slide that is about 15 feet tall if not higher and my daughter loved it. Mind you she is 2 and was able to climb the steps to the top on her own and slide down on her own… very quickly, first time she looked scared but did it again and another ten times after. I gave this park 5 stars as it met all my parent requirements in what I look for in a park. Come check it out, your kids will be happy and you will be too. Not to mention at ease being that it is gated in. I came mid day on a weekday… they are open till sunset, no pets allowed. Not sure how busy they are on weekends, but parking is limited.

I love this little park. It hits all the marks. Sure,… it’d be great if there was a bathroom on site. But, we’ll only stay for about an hour or so, so we can wait to go home or somewhere else for a bathroom. PROS: * big kid play area, small kid play area * climbing apparatus. even the adults can get some exercise doing pull ups * the playground is completely fenced in so it’s easy to watch the kids and not worry about them escaping :-) * covered area with plenty of picnic tables * large enough area for the kids to run back and forth and tire themselves out * great location — right in the heart of Altamonte Springs which is nice because then it’s always«on the way» to something… * good for a «quick fix» of play time CONS: * no bathrooms * parking is very limited

Nice park for the kids to get out and play and for the adults to enjoy the weather. This park as a few rides but not that many like other parks do, I think they should add more for the kids, this place is good for birthday party’s for the kids but no grills around to cook out.

Hermit’s Trail Park is a tiny green space right along busy 436 in Altamonte Springs. The park has two play areas– one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids. My son LOVED the little metal Jeep with real tires that he could sit in and«drive». They also have some of those ride-on bouncy things, a merry go round, a big tire to climb in and on, a tall slide and swings. The whole park is fenced except for the entrance/exit and has nice shade trees. There is also a nice covered pavillion and water fountains– all which led me to believe this park had restrooms. If there is already water running to the park installing a restroom shouldn’t be a huge deal. I overheard other parents lamenting about there not being any facilities. This is a problem when you have a recently potty trained child and no bathrooms anywhere! Cool park, but I’d gladly add another star if this park had bathrooms!

I’ve driven by this park so many times, it’s on 436 between the mall and 17 – 92. I decided today to give it a try. The first thing I noticed on entering, is no gates. I mean always keep an eye on your kid, but this close to 436 I was a little frightened. While on the topic of «why this isn’t 5 stars», some of the play areas are sand. Now, this is not an issue, sand is fine, but there were some ants and I was wearing sandals… But This park has a merry-go-round! I haven’t seen those since I was a kid! The park also has two play areas, one for older and one for younger kids. Also it has this fun tall slide that is bumpy, my 2.5 year old loved that one. The park also contains things that bounce, a metal«house», and a HUGE tire to play in. Had a lot of fun at this park. The shade was adequate. I was there from 2:30 — 3:30 on a Tuesday and there was only one other person there until right when I left and a BUNCH of cars pulled in. Overall, I really enjoyed it and will be back again! Keep up the good work, Altamonte Springs
