Time Out Lounge

Service was okay. Was a Monday night before six thirty. No rush.
Food was sub par. Burgers were dry. Porksteak was over done. Place is hit and miss from what I understand. My first visit and prob won’t go back.

Cousin likes this place because she smokes.
Food was average to say the least. Had a chicken breast with under cooked green peppers and onions. This was supposed to be topped with melted cheese. Was Cold.
Asparagus was ok, Cole Slaw fresh. Waiter was excellent. Would not be a favorite eatery of mine.

Traveling on business, I came here for lunch as it was recommended by a local. In an unassuming building in Alton’s quaint downtown, Mac’s has an expansive interior with TVs lining the wall, gaming if you’re into that, and a long bar where someone eating alone can grab a seat. I went with the Bleu Cheese Burger, and it was delicious. They source their beef from the local meat packing locker and get their buns from a local bakery– I was very impressed. With homemade chips to boot, this is a no-​brainer for a great lunch if you’re in the area!

Great food, Good service. Decent prices but make sure you have time to kill because food can take a while to come out.

They have every NFL game on TV on Sunday’s– we called 8 other places and didn’t want to drive to Edwardsville and ended up here. It was great to sit outside and it was a fun atmosphere to watch a game. The food is good for bar food but I’m not a fan of all of the people smoking in the outdoor beer garden.

Looks small, but opens into a large indoor/​outdoor area with a large bar & plenty of seating. Smoking allowed in the back. Fun crowd & a good place to drink, talk, & mingle. Waitresses are friendly and attentive. They also make some good drinks there. On the last visit we just had beers, shots of Fireball, and shots of Misdemeanor (Buttershots & Crown Royal). My group had a good time.

Great enclosed beer garden! The food is really good and reasonably priced. Best appetizers in town. Great bar! If you want to go someplace casual and get a good steak, burger, mixed drinks or beer this is a great place to go.

By happenstance I ended up at Mac’s after leaving Raging Rivers Waterpark and starving from hopping through waves and running up giant hills to continue my water-​slide extravaganza.
Lets just say the Patio is AWEtastic. It’s the perfect outdoor sports bar atmosphere. Now I didn’t come for that i was just hungry… The outdoor patio is covered and air conditioned, we sat near a vent and because I was still wet from swimming I was cold. I ordered the Chicken Tortilla soup and UMMM YESS it was tasty. I am not a huge lover of corn and i appreciate that corn did not overtake this dish.
King Doc (the hub) ordered fried mushrooms which he loved the size but the breading was Meh. I’d had fried food the night before so I took it easy and had the Chicken Skewer and Asparagus which was fare. King Doc ordered the Greek burger which is a hamburger topped with gyro meat, feta cheese, fried cucumbers and tzatziki sauce… Drum Roll This burger looked as good as it tasted. Enough for King Doc to eat the whole thing.
If you DO NOT drink, smoke, enjoy lewd behavior, have sensitive ears make sure you do not go in here to eat after 5 especially with children. I did not know the name was Mac’s Time Out LOUNGE I just thought it was MAC’s.
All in all i would definitely go here again if I was in the Riverbend area again.

Ok, I have to admit, I don’t go to Mac’s Time Out Lounge for the alcohol or Off Track Betting. What draws me is their outdoor patio and their pizza, which is THE best (in both taste and value) in the Riverbend area. Plus, if you go on Monday or Tuesday, you get the crazy deal of $ 2 for an 8 inch two-​topping pizza! I’m also a fan of the Machos with sweet beef. So freakin’ yummy!

Wife took me here for a birthday dinner. Wonderful setting and nice dinning area. Staff was pretty friendly. Fried ravioli app was great!
However…
I ordered the Jack Daniels Steak Medallions and they came pretty over cooked with a severely under baked potato and it was a good 30min between placing the order and receiving the food. Changed my order to the Chicken Speidini and it took another 35 minutes. Needless to say, I was decently upset at having been at the restaurant for over an hour and hadn’t eaten after the app. Manager came out and told us not to worry about our ticket and apologize for everything that went poorly. I understand, everyone has bad days. On our way out the manager gave us a gift card towards our next visit. That is some great personal service. We will be coming back hoping it was a fluke. Will update next time we are in Alton.

We won’t be back. The food is good, but when you have to beg for seating and service, when you don’t even get what you ordered, and when no one ever brings the check — what’s the use? We were looking forward to eating here before a concert. We ordered the steak kabobs, a Tavern salad to split, and a tea and a coke. We got a coke and a water, no salad, and the kabobs, which were delicious. After our waitress took our plates away she never came back. We asked two other waitresses about our check, and we’re told they would relay the message to our waitress, who we never saw again. After 30 minutes we went to the bar, which was not busy, and told the bartender our dilemma; she just shrugged. We left what we thought was the right amount on our table and left. The service is pathetic.

Went here on a sunday with my family and for Alton, this was a very nice experience, although it isnt my cup of tea to eat out in a bar.
The food time was long but I spent most of it talking to my family so I didn’t mind. I ordered the shrimp and they tasted great I just wish I had more.
I ordered their classic american burger, the only complaint I have is getting it medium rare but over all it tasted delicious.
I would definitely come back with my family again

$ 1.99 7″ two-​topping pizza special was a good deal. It was a medium crust pizza, fairly generous toppings given the price. You’d need a couple to fill you up. Also had garlic chicken wings. If they’re any indication of how good their other varieties are, I won’t hesitate to try them. Good service, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere.

After leaving the movie theater, the wife and I weren’t safe with ending the evening in an uneventful mood, soo I drove over to Alton, IL to her surprise. We landed at Mac’s and we’re greeted by the Mixologist Amanda, after ordering and eating we all talked and had a delightful time. MAC’S is a great place to go for a drink with friends, an evening with family, or just a quick date with the spouse. Enjoy!!!

Food is just mediocre at best and takes a LONG time to be delivered. Men’s restroom kind of nasty and no paper towels. Worst thing is that people are allowed to smoke out on the covered outdoor patio. Stay away from here and go to Fast Eddies for excellent cheap food, and a much better atmosphere.

My experiences here seem to get better and better thanks to the hot wings and the friendly bartender «Amanda». She made us her famous «Rum Riffic» drink and is willing to make drinks from drink apps off from our phone we give to her. The cranberry appley martini was very good. The bbq chicken pizza was also great. There is live music and entertaining watching the people here. It’s a nice date night place.

We don’t traditionally go to Mac’s because there are so many more places better to go with a better craft beer line up, but being home brewer’s & active in the StL beer scene decided to try because of Templer brewing being produced there and is only one of a few places on tap… Beer was ok, but the food… HORRIBLE!!! Most likely the WORST BLT sandwich ever made! After using 3 Napkins to try and soak the oil of the lukewarm 5 strips of bacon I gave up!!! Bread was so oily and tomato was sliced with the core and green. When I showed it to the server, all I got was her saying eewww, no offer to replace or refund. Take my advise, if you want a local dive with great food beer and service, try Johnson’s or sport’s Tap.

We were out celebrating my bosses birthday. We sat in the covered patio area, this place was very nice, TV’s at every table and 4 above the bar. The down side in the outside area one can smoke. They do have some smoke eaters. The servers were very friendly and the drinks were tasty.

Their steaks are amazing! They are so tender they practically melt in your mouth. Their food portions are also definitely generous.
Time Out/​Macs also has excellent bartending staff and I really enjoy the wide variety of people that it attracts.
