Amana Colonies Popcorn and Ice Cream Company

This is the best ice cream around. It is seriously amazing. I haven’t tried the popcorn, but the ice cream was GREAT! The cashier was only like 12 but was experienced. GO HERE!!!

Review for the ice cream only. Small selection of artisan flavors, but WOW their scoop sizes are shockingly small. I wasn’t expecting a humongous sphere on top of my sugar cone, but seriously, you’re charging $ 2.95 for a half-​dome scoop that rises less than 1 inch above the cone edge? Maybe it was because the kid serving us was inexperienced (he couldn’t have been more than 12 years old — and no, this is not an exaggeration, he was definitely underage), but the store proprietor was right there watching him, and obviously had no problem with the paltry amount of ice cream that was served up. I know I should have said something, but when it was clear that he took no interest or pride in the quality of his business and the customer service, I decided that it wasn’t worth the effort. However, this warning to potential future customers is a worthwhile endeavor.
Avoid this place and satisfy your sweet tooth elsewhere, such as the bakery next door or the chocolate shop across the street. Or walk down to the Ox Yoke Inn and get a slice of pie for the same cost.
