My husband had the elk tenderloin & I had the halibut. Both were superb. We’ll b back

Everyone was super friendly and easy. Great start! The elk and beef tenderloin were amazing! I was super excited when I could sub the green chili cheese grits as my side. They were also wonderful. Our friend had the jalapeño margarita and it was quite unique but really fantastic! This might be one of the best restaurants in town if not the best. We will be back.

The best ribeye steak, melts in your mouth. Great cocktails made by the best bartenders made dining in the bar area a pleasure! !

I have only ever been here for lunch and it was very good and is almost buffet style as you go through the line and get the specials very quickly. I have never been at night and the prices seem expensive been I have heard great things.

Great find. Overcooked a steak, but sent a replacement pronto. Pear salad delicious as was the Caesar. Rib Eye with chipotle sauce tasty. Free parking. Located in downtown area.

I’ve never been to OHMS for dinner, but the cafeteria style lunch is always tasty. They have a nice selection to choose from & they always have a salad that you can add to your meal. I really enjoy the brie pasta that they normally have with a side salad. The bread that they have is so good! A nice alternative for lunch, always a treat!

Great place. A bit high for the area. 1 drink & a meal nearly $ 50 dollars-I’m from Los Angeles and I was a bit shocked by the price. Nonetheless the food was excellent. Cool bartender with top shelf brands to choose from. Friendly staff. One loud mouthed Right Winger at the bar with a tad too loud drunken conversation kinda killed the ambience for me.

Best meal I’ve had in years!!! No kidding. I ate with 3 other guys and all I heard was«ah man! This is amazing!» The Elk was succulent and tender and the kale salad is ridiculous! The ambiance inside is charming although the outside is very unassuming. First time to Amarillo and it’s a trip I’ll never forget!

Tucked unassumingly into a quiet corner amid the bustling downtown traffic, bathed in the glow of the Chase Tower, you will find OHMS Café. This restaurant may be easily overlooked by those unfamiliar with its appeal, but a visit inside to taste the tempting cuisine will turn a first-timer into a regular. This family-operated fine dining establishment has been a long-time favorite of mine mostly because they offer a variety of fresh, hand-crafted dishes that just can’t be found anywhere else in town. The service is excellent, every customer is treated like a VIP, and the wait staff is very professional and well-trained. If there is one point that I can’t stress enough, the food is phenomenal. The menu changes seasonally based on the freshness of the ingredients available, but year round one can expect to see the freshest seafood, elk, duck, and so much more. This is a pricy establishment, but one that is definitely worth the money for any foodie. Absolutely wonderful for an intimate date night, or any occasion worth celebrating. Tip: Make reservations! Walk-ins are almost impossible to accommodate on busy nights. This restaurant doesn’t exactly have a kid’s menu, and at $ 30+ per plate it would probably be wise to get the little ones a snack beforehand… Unless they’re little foodies in training!

Great place. I need this after my week in Vegas of bad food. The food is great. Just ate Cesar salad with bacon, cherry tomatoes with a quail egg that was soft boiled and flash fried. Then for the entrée I had mushroom risotto with mixed veggies and ELK! ABSOLUTELYAMAZING! ! if you are ever in Amarillo I highly recommend.

Pros: Ribeye with their Mac n cheese Moscow mule cocktail Cons: Slow service Long wait time without reservation Pricey Had higher expectations from this place since I had heard some great things. But it definitely didn’t meet any of them. The wait time was fair since I didn’t have a reservation, but everything about the restaurant was slow, except the bar. It seemed like almost every other table but ours had complimentary bread and butter. There were a few like ours that didn’t have any, so I’m not sure if it’s just something you had to order or it wasn’t complimentary. We ordered the fried egg salad(because of other Unilocal reviews), ribeye, and their pork tenderloin. Fried egg salad — nothing fancy about it. It’s a regular salad with an egg that was fried. Tasted like a normal salad. Not worth it Ribeye — pretty good. Tender meat and cooked medium rare just right. The Mac n cheese it came with was also good. Had a spicy kick to it, but delicious nonetheless Pork tenderloin — Some pieces were tender, some were dry and tough. The potato hash side it came with was too peppery. Took a long time for just the salad to come out. Then even longer for the main dishes to come out. And after the waiter brought out food out, we didn’t see him til the end of our meal. Most likely will not be trying this place again. Not worth the money for mediocre food.

Due to an ice storm we decided to stay in Amarillo and that’s where we found this very special restaurant. The menu was pleasantly limited indicating a vision and appreciation for fine food. I recommend saving your calorie intake for a this worthy restaurant. We had 3 wonderful courses paired with a nice Malbec.

Meh, that sums up my review. The food was good, but not great. For the prices they charge I need the food to be great. If you’re charging almost $ 30 for a plate of noodles, you’re raising my expectations. The same applies to the service. It’s fine to receive competent service at Chili’s but not at an «upscale» eatery. The servers aren’t food savvy.(If you need suggestions on pairings, you better look it up on your smartphone.) I can’t justify visiting OHMS again. If you’re searching for an upscale date night destination, you’re better off going to macaroni joe’s(another place that disappoints me but at least the servers seem passionate about food).

We went here as a date night while my honey was in town and I was living here. This is probably one of the nicest if not nicest place to dine out in Amarillo. It seems to cater a lot to out of town guests staying in the hotels in the area. It is a in a bit of a strange area, but the ambiance is very dim and intimate. We had excellent service, and the cocktails weren’t too bad but pricey. Everything here is pricey as with any fine dining experience. They have quite a bit of interesting art scattered around. We split the fried egg salad which I really enjoyed and also got the sesame crusted oysters which were pretty yummy. I got the fish special of the day which was OK but not very overwhelming. The ribeye was also OK but their mac and cheese that came with it was very good and had a nice twist with the green chiles. Overall, for the price it was just OK. It seems like Amarillo is about 10 years behind the times with everything, which might just be indicative of the panhandle. I think it is a very nice out for those that live here, but if you are from out of town then don’t expect anything mind blowing.

sure it’s a little expensive, but this is one of those places where it’s justified. i had a fish dish with properly cooked fish that included more than 5 ingredients but the chef didn’t attempt to(as everyone else seems to do) attempt to kill the fish flavor, he actually complemented it very well, with flavors that i wasn’t used to. Good beer selection, and i had a mixed drink that at a cheaper place would have come from a pre-mix bottle + 1 alchohol, i saw the bartender pick up and add at least 6 things, and go figure it was better than i’m used to. the service was exceptionally attentive but not annoying. All and all a great place, again, not cheap, but if you’re not concerned about that, in the area i would highly recomend them.

A romantic candle lit dinner. He ordered the pork tenderloin and I ordered the fried egg salad. Both were amazing and our waiter Mark was the best. However, it is pricey. Expect to pay around $ 70.00 for two people.

What a hidden gem in downtown Amarillo! Love this place, and will definitely make an effort to return any time I’m in town — hopefully for dinner next time. Tucked away in a funky, historic building, this place does a brisk lunch business, especially to the business crowd. Dinners looked really unique w/items like elk tenderloin and various risottos, but I came for lunch, and it’s «cafeteria style,» where you wait in line at the counter and select from various entrees for $ 9.75(add fresh mixed green salad for $ 1.50 or soup for $ 2.50). Everything looked great, but finally decided on the chicken Marbella(w/a wonderful Spanish sauce of capers, olives, plums, garlic and red wine vinegar), side of sautéed veggies(excellent) and side of pasta w/pesto and Brie — incredible. The enchiladas and chicken panang looked great, too. The guy in front of me said, «I’ll have that dang panang!» I like this place!

I wanted to LOVE this place. Awesome aura and ambiance. Hard to find(usually a good thing). Well reviewed. It was late but I walked into a great reception and was quickly seated and helped. The service was not the issue. Quaint menu with some great choices. I’m in Amarillo in west Texas so need has to be amazing right? I go for Ribeye with green chile Mac and cheese. The Caesar was good. Tangy and fresh. Clean and crisp lettuce. Then I get my steak. Looks great and I can already smell the Mac and cheese. That’s the issue. This is ribeye!!! I should have smelled it first. My first bit was a bit tough(ribeye in Texas should always be medium rare). Another bite. Tough. And it never got better. Nothing jumped out. It was just. Ok. The Mac and cheese was AMAZING on the other hand. But I didn’t want to leave this place racing about Mac and cheese. Oh well. Thanks bit probably not gonna be a repeat for me. Lots of new places to try.

Really pretty solid place! Interesting menu items and fun choices you can’t always find in this town. We had the duck with the grits and the elk with risotto. No complaints on the proteins, but the risotto was undercooked and still crunchy. That was kind of a surprise because it’s fairly easy to prepare. Dessert: butterscotch pudding. Prepare to have a spoon fight at the table like children if you try to share it. Bartender: knows his stuff! Great for cocktails after work.
