Grant’s Resale & Consignment Store

the vast majority of the records are in bad shape. 3 bucks too. so that’s what this review is only about. you couldn’t give them away to anybody who knows how to treat records.

My first shopping experience at Grant’s Resale & Consignment Store was pleasant. I was looking for display racks for the women’s self defense items I sell. I asked Bill if he had any, and he said he had just the thing but they were behind some other items. It was late, and he said that he would get them out that night. I returned the next day, and he had them ready for me to look at. I was able to purchase three. Bill was impressive in how well he knows his stock. It was such a nice shopping experience that I «liked» their Facebook page.
The other day while I was looking at their page I noticed a nice Army rug. When I asked if it was for sale, we had a short chat and Helen and Bill were so very kind as to give it to my son as thanks for his years of service, including two deployments (Iraq and Afghanistan)!
Every time I have gone there, sometimes to shop, and sometimes to just browse and see what is new, Helen and Bill have been very personable, never pushy or following you around the store. If you have a question they don’t have an answer for, they find out and give you a call. The last time I was in I found two wonderful yard turtles for one of our daughters! You never know what you will find; and their stock is incredible!

Yesterday I called Grant’s because of an ad for a cal king bed they had posted on craigslist. I asked if I could come by and take a look at 8 pm and the woman on the phone said they closed at 5 but lived nearby and would come back just for us and to give them a call when we were about 15 minutes out. When we got there, the bed looked just like the pictures. Bill made sure we were aware of any flaws and then gave us some time to decide. We purchased it, and Bill was great — he and another guy who was working in the back helped us load all the parts into our truck and even brought out cardboard and gave us a blanket to make sure nothing got scratched. Our truck was PACKED! Bill, if you’re reading this, we made it back safe and with everything in one piece, thank you again!

I am a bit late in writing this review and I apologize to Helen but here it is.
I bought a piano they had listed on Craigslist and my experience was beyond excellent. They were courteous, honest and very friendly. Not to mention the great deal on the piano.
Icing on the cake — when Helen found out I drove from far for that Piano for my daughter, she handed over a bottle of water and a bunch of food bars for on the way back.
We need more businesses like this that genuinely connect with their customers on a personal level. I would go back there the next time I am in Napa area, just to say hi.

Stopped by to look for frames for my business, Heidi’s Hang Ups. Helen and Bill didn’t disappoint! I was able to pick up a fantastic vintage frame and wonderful antique tea set. I’ve shopped at their store for several months now and I am assured to always find some unique pieces. They have fabulous estate jewelry I adore the variety and selection of items in their store. They each are just a delight to chat with… their Scottish accent I could listen to ALL DAY! You must stop by their shop in your way in/​out of Napa Valley… you will be glad you did

We went and checked it out for the first time today. So much cool stuff! I can’t wait to go back and see what new stuff they have!!!

Grant’s often posts items for sale on FB. Today they posted a 3 piece set… couch, love seat & chair. The love seat is exactly what I’ve been wanting for my newly renovated bedroom. I asked what the price would be for just the love seat. Helen Grant’s reply was «$ 150 LOL», which was the exact price of all 3 items. I asked what she meant. She said the items were DIRT CHEAP and that was the price. I gave it some thought and was going to make the 20 minute drive to go look at the set. I figured at that price I could have the love seat and sell the other 2 pieces. I had to call her to ask about delivery because she took down the ad in the middle of our FB comments conversation. Odd, right? She said they no longer delivered but they had a guy. I asked for his # so I could ask about the delivery charge which she would not give me. She told me she’d have him call me… which she didn’t. Instead she posted online that delivery would be «as much as the price of the furniture.» Wow… $ 150 to move 3 pieces 20 minutes away? I questioned that, and this was her reply…
«Ok listen. I’m not going to go back and forth with you on this. tHis is a HEAVY 3 seater.2 Seater and The Big Chair.2 GUYS have To come here. Lift and LOAD it… bring it to your house then UNLOAD it. Feel Free to call some moving guys and get a quote for that elsewhere .let me know how that goes would ya cause I may want to use them myself. Thanks»
Beware. This woman has zero business sense. I was ready to buy furniture that I didn’t want or need which would have been a win-​win for her because she said they needed the space for new inventory. But based 100% on her attitude from the start I’ll NEVER SHOP @ GRANT’S RESALE!!!

I just purchased a pine Armoire from Grants Resale. It was a fast sale. I wanted to thank Helen for coordinating delivery, and giving me a great deal. Stop in and browse the shop. They have some wonderful treasures there. Thanks again Helen and Grant.

Love the atmosphere and love the merchandise, especially that new stuff comes in daily! I like that when I go in, I am greeted warmly and not followed around as if I may try shop-​lifting. Not so crazy about prices when it comes to bigger items though. Can’t win them all but for sure I’d go back!

Just go there. Eclectic, friendly, great prices and a lot of collectibles and finds I’ve NEVER seen anywhere else. Nice music, too! The jewelry case has TRUE silver and turquoise (and more) rings … a whole bunch of them marked down to only $ 25.00! A whole bunch! Great gifts, ideas and finds.

Went to Grant’s at 9:05 this morning. Scored 2 Kincaid granite top night stands, a maple dresser/​mirror, a vintage oak desk, 2 end tables and a large, solid (maple?) bookcase. The night stands had just arrived the night before and hadn’t been listed on Grant’s site, so they gave me a steal of a deal! Kind folks with great personalities who price their items to move! Check it out! Promise you won’t be disappointed!

Went to this shop and love how it is put together! Great prices, great people and most importantly great finds :) If your looking for unique yet quality items this is your go to place :)

Just an update to say that this thrift store doesn’t carry clothing any more, although they have just about anything else you can imagine.

I used to shop at this location when I lived in American Canyon years ago and the thrift store operating here at the time raised money for the Boys and Girls Club (I think). It was full of donated stuff then, lots of junk and the occasional treasure. Well, things have definitely changed. Grant’s is tidy, well-​organized, and stocked with an interesting variety of things, including vinyl records, furniture in decent shape, appliances, clothing, household and decorative items, and lots of things I probably didn’t notice because I was looking mainly for furniture. Some of the items are on consignment, I think. The owners couldn’t have been nicer. The store is a little hard to see from Highway 29 because it’s set pretty far back from the road. Don’t miss it!

Grants Thrift Store is an alladins cave of goodies… from furniture… collectables…jewelry …artwork and knicknacks. This used to be an old charity store but has been taken over by Billy… the scots man… he has gutted the place and it is now super smart… everything is well displayed with excellent prices too… Helen the Scottish sister is a hoot and they will both make sure you get a good deal… I couldn’t believe how helpful and friendly they were… I highly recommend this place to everyone… go in and have a look… you won’t leave empty handed.
