This place is the worst. You should really avoid all of the Swift Stops in the area. When you swipe your card to pay for your gas, and you need to choose which brand of gas you want, the prices disappear! The only people who need that information are people who want the cheapest gas. It appears to be very intentional. The only information you are left with are the words«Plus» «Premium» and«Regular.» Guess which one is the cheapest? No, not Regular. I’m really shocked at how deceitful and sneaky this place is. And the people most susceptible to these tactics are older people. They should be investigated.

Mom and Dad were gracious enough to lend us one of their cars for a week to travel up to the Twin Cities, down to Spirit Lake, and then back to Ames. Once«back in the barn», the least we could do was make sure that the tank was full and the car was washed. Swift Stop #2 was the first place that came up on Gayle’s iphone after walking around the ISU Campus this afternoon. It’s a Phillips 66 branded service station and like others in the Midwest, offers Premium at about 10 cents a gallon cheaper than Regular. That’s because of the 10% ethanol content. And if you really want to go «whole hog» with this subsidy, E-85 is even cheaper for cars so equipped. We refueled quickly and the Deluxe(cheapest) car was did an admirable job cleaning off the dirt and most of the bugs. And even though it didn’t entirely meet my Dad’s high standards for exterior shine, he was very appreciative of our efforts.
