My son broke his leg here this week. I know, it’s not something that would start a five star review, but bear with me. My son is a black belt, who has been studying here for years. I’ve watched him grow into his teenage years, shaped by the lessons he learned at Master Chong’s. There was a time when he was a pretty withdrawn child, and not drawn to physical activities unless you pushed him. Mater Chong changed all that. He went from Tae Kwon Do being an activity he simply went to, to one that he grew to love. The teachers are all excellent, and take personal attention to every single student. there’s an infectious energy that captivates the students, and drives them to achieve their personal best. So this week my son was attempting a flying spin kick, when he landed on his leg wrong and broke his leg. From the minute he landed wrong, there were teachers at the ready to help him. They carried him to my car, still clad in his uniform. At the hospital, an older man saw him in the wheelchair in his uniform and introduced himself as a former student of Master Chong. Him and my son swapped stories about their journeys, both smiling as they recalled their work and efforts in achieving black belt. When my son got word that his leg was indeed broken, and he would be in a cast, his first thought wasn’t about how he would deal with getting around school. It wasn’t about lost days he would be forced to heal. It was a sadness about not being able to participate at Master Chong’s for the next three months. I suspect most parents wonder about the choices they made for their children. Sometimes it keeps us up at night. I do know, however, that I have never regretted taking my son to Master Chong’s. I may well be the best decision I ever made.

First thing its all about money! Very high pressure sales, every time you turn around they are asking you for money. Its $ 159 a month and then $ 40 each time your child tests for a belt and you have to buy their equipment $ 150 per belt. You also must sign a 3 year contract. We tried the Groupon but they said that with that they would offer to waive the $ 199 enrollment fee but offered no lessons. They even have the instructors teaching your children how to knock on doors and ask for money for their fundraisers. The instructors are good with children, but it is a money making making machine where the primary focus is to get the most money possible from you!

We love this school. Both my daughters have learned so much in the past year. We just signed up for an additional 2 years for them to complete their black belt program. Fingers crossed they will both be black belts by the time they turn 9 and 10 years old. The staff is very well trained and are so wonderful with all of the students and also the parents. Their philosophy about taekwondo and teaching the children all that they need to know to succeed has been amazing. In the past year I have seen my girls grow so much, develop discipline and structure. If you have been considering signing up your child, I recommend that you do it. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to all of the Masters and staff for doing a wonderful job with my daughters. We cannot wait until they succeed and earn their black belts.

My kids started in the little tiger program not quite 2 years ago, and the development in physical ability, and mental focus is very encouraging. I now have been training along with my kids and it gives me great joy to increase their self esteem by «teaching daddy» along with the joy of sharing an activity with my kids. My boy 7 is a blue belt My girl 5 and myself are green belts. Great kid sport and adult gym They offer adult only classes, kids classes and family classes so we can all get slightly different classes at one spot. Highly recommend ! Wish they were located closer to home in Buffalo, but way worth the 20 min drive.
