What HORRIBLE service! I ordered a Knafah over the phone and the owner said it would be ready in an hour. I drove all the way from Montclair and got there on time. When I arrived he said it still wasnt ready and needed 10 more mins. So I went to 711 across the street. When I got back 10 min later he was CLOSED?! What the hell. Who does that. Just turns away business and lies to a customers face. I will never come back here again. I drove 50 min from Montclair for nothing. Don’t come here. Knafeh café is where I ended up going. At least they know how to treat a paying customer

This guy makes the best«Knafeh» I ever had. Knafeh is the middle-east’s version of cheese cake, a pastry consisting of unsalted unsweetened ricotta-like cheese(Nabulsi cheese) that is sandwiched between two layers of shredded wheat, baked in the oven, soaked with orange blossom flavored syrup, and topped with ground pistachios. The original«Knafeh» are made in Nablus, Palestine, but AlSham’s Knafeh is at least as good. The only down side is that the owner only accepts cash payment, but if you know that in advance, you are set for some of the best dessert in the world.

Small place tucked in a stripmall next door to Zankou Chicken. Never been before but it looked interesting the place is clean well lit the pastries look good & Tasty I ordered a piece of lemon coconut cake frosted & topped with lemon curds also got an assortment of baklava & jalabi(Indian funnel cake soaked in cane sugar syrup) very nice staff the let me taste a couple different Indiatimes before choosing, prices are reasonable. & everything I had was tasty the baklava was some of the best I have had around much better than most. If you like middle eastern sweets & traditional pastries cakes this is worth checking out. Check out the pictures the cake didn’t make it long enough for the photos though.

The best Baklava I have EVERTASTED. I never knew there were so many different types of nuts used for different ones! Three of us and I spent over $ 30.00 trying different things! Will go back again after eating next door at Zankou Chicken or if we are in the neighborhood! Thanks for the Great Goodies and Treats!

Basically delicious but watch out for those things that need the syrup — they’re like mushy Kelloggs cereal.

I stopped here one night after a trip to Zankou. The baklava is excellent, but I made the mistake of ordering some unusual items I had never tried before. Beware that some of the items are extremely oily/greasy. Overall though the place was great and worth stopping by.
