Grilled cheese lovers: please come and check this place out!!! :) Jalapeño bacon melt has the perfect kick of jalapeño, not over powering. Jack cheese and bacon spread ties it all together and creates heaven in your mouth!!! Manchego, spanish ham, quince — different flavor. Cheesy and sweet. I recommend for someone looking for a new flavor.

SOLID. I never actually tried a fancy grilled cheese place cause when I’m at home and lazy to cook i make grilled cheese. BUT! This place is simple and amazing; had the #1(#1 for a reason), and«The Pork». Both had amazing flavor combos, especially the #1 with the goat cheese and all that jazz. Amazing would def come back.

Meh. The grilled cheese was ok. I wanted regular cheddar but they only had smoked. It tasted like there was bacon or pancetta in the grilled cheese but they said they didn’t put any in there. Maybe the bacon grease from another grilled cheese got on my sandwich? Not sure. I had a few messy dripping cheese bites and gave the rest to my husband. Not impressed.

«The Pork», which I sampled at a Unilocal Elite event, was bomb, with swiss, panchetta, garlic aioli and onion jam. Months later, since my wife didn’t want swiss or meat, for my second one, I got a smoked cheddar but added the aioli and jam, and it was just OK. You know, I’d hate to sound all«undiagnosed» again, but the first one was square, and the second one was diagonal, and that may have been a factor. If I ever get a third sandwich for a snack(they don’t really constitute a meal), I’m asking for it to be cut into rectangles or squares because these taste better with 90 degree angles. Mmm, corners.

Mmmm. How can you go wrong with grilled cheese?! Well this place definitely did this comfort food its well deserved justice. There’s something about Black Sheep, but I’m not quite sure what it is yet. It’s like the sandwiches are brought up a notch for a gourmet experience and taste, yet the concept is so deliciously simple. We ordered«The Man» with salami because paying premium price for one without meat seemed a bit too touristy for our liking. Though for its delicately crafted melted sandwiches, Black Sheep may be worth the price. As I’ve mentioned, grilled cheese is one of those foods that just takes you back to childhood with the right bite. For that, I think this is a worthy spot at the Packing District. Have one as a meal or order one for everyone to share as a starter during your foodie adventure here. I only docked a star because my London cousins were rejected for trying to purchase a shirt for what seemed like seconds after closing the register. My cousins even offered to pay in exact cash, but they wouldn’t budge. Rules are rules I guess. For the record, their apparel merchandise seem very comfortable. Also, the guys working here are kind of cute! :) This grilled cheese experience was an A– in my book!

Atmosphere: The Black Sheep, located in the Anaheim Packing District, offers panini’s and melted cheese sandwiches and is in a very hipster(photo-op heaven) setting. Plenty of seating and wifi. It may be harder to find seating at peak hours 5pm-7pm though. Service: Like many of the other restaurants in the packing district, my service that Ive gotten has all been roughly the same. A friendly smile and greeting before taking your order! And another smile upon picking up your order and getting told to have a nice day. Food: The jalepeno bacon melt was reallllly good. The cheese was melted and the ingredients inside were packed with flavor. The jalepeno had a little kick to it and the bacon added more savory goodness to my palette. I went ahead and also got the tomato soup that goes along with the sandwich as an additional purchase, but the soup was bland and underwhelming. If youre an avid lover of tomato soup with grilled cheese then maybe consider getting the soup, but if you do not care for tomato soup with your sandwich, I would suggest skipping it. The sandwiches size is the average size of a grilled cheese you would make at home at triple the price, with many other great food choices available in the district, why not get something you cant already make at home? Maybe im just biased against grilled cheeses. I liked The Black Sheep, I just liked other establishments in the district a little more.

Location: Located in the Anaheim Packing House on Anaheim Blvd, this grilled cheese shop is located on the top floor immediately to the right when you walk in. If you turn right and hit the Popbar, you have gone the wrong way. But you can also just walk in a huge circle and end up right back at Black Sheep. Haha. Parking is horrible at the packing house unless you get there early or at a weird time. They do have valet, but we have never used because if you go down about 2 blocks you hit a small theater with a city parking lot next to it as well as a city parking structure. 2 hours free. Done and done. Service: Counter service like most all the other foodie places in the packing house — you place your order and then can chose between sitting in the stools at the counter and/or taking your food elsewhere within the packing house. The guys who took our order was nice enough to explain the bacon spread to us when we asked. We both decided to order off the set menu versus making our own to see what we thought of their combos so it was pretty straight forward. We sat at the counter so the sandwiches were handed to us right as he pulled them off. Make sure to ask for your pickles! They were yum! Food: Cheese cheese and cheese. YUM. The sandwich I chose to try was comprised of goat cheese, arugula pesto, tomatoes, and caramelized onion. Not quite sure what the bread was, but it was good! So this sandwich was good, but(and I know how this sounds) it was a little too much goat cheese for me. If it had been cut with another cheese I think it would have been perfect. I definitely enjoyed all the other components of the sandwich. My husband tried the bacon spread, jalepenos and jack cheese combo. I believe he thoroughly enjoyed that as he was finished before I had even started on my second half! Overall: Good option within the foodie atmosphere of the packing house, but i think next time i will steer clear of the goat cheese and try something else.

Everything is gourmet or artisanal today, right? Doesn’t it seem that way? I know I’m not the only one! Went with«The Classic,» which is a smoked cheddar and swiss for $ 7.00. Considering I’m from San Francisco, this seemed reasonably priced(by 2015 standards). Three stars because, while good, it’s nothing to write home about. Maybe next time I’ll be more adventurous and try one of their speciality grilled cheeses. However, I would say to give it a try, if you want a quick lunch or snack!

Grilled cheese, grilled cheese. how I love thee. But why be skimpy BSGCB seems to fit perfectly in with all the other food spots in the Packing House. But with a name like Black Sheep, you’d think they would have some crazy unique ingredients, right? ehhh! ok, Quince paste is cool, but that’s spread. What about the meat and potatatas of my grilled cheese? When looking at their small menu, the ingredients aren’t as enticing as some of the other grilled cheese spots I’ve ventured to. It’s SUPER simple. Yeah, it’s enough to make a good sando and it tastes good, if you’re not comparing it to others. But it’s really nothing special. Portion-wise, it’s your average-sized sandwich if you were to buy bread from a store — small. And when grilled, the sandwich gets pretty flattened out with hardly any filling. The cheese to bread ratio is pretty slim. Thank you GCB for watching my waistline, but me no likey skinny sandwiches. Skinny b*tches, maybe. But skinny sandwiches? .ahhh no. Price-wise, it ends up being a bit pricey when comparing to the portion, if you ask me. What gets me coming back, though, is the fact that Packing House is walking distance and even with its flaws, the grilled cheese is still tasty. I’ve tried almost the entire menu and they are all good. just wish there was more to it. I’m always left with that unsatisfying feeling that I didn’t get enough, that I want more. Like when you only get the tip, but not the whole thing. But maybe that’s what they’re going for. leaving you begging for more so you come back. The nice thing they have is the punch card! Get a free grilled cheese every 9th you buy. Nothing makes me cheese more than a cheesy freebie. I’ll still be coming back, but still with the hopes that a «grilled cheese bar» would have more cheese or bread options to choose from. Don’t just give me the tip! I want the whole shebang!

I just paid $ 6 for a grilled cheese sandwich. Wow so it’s a bit pricey and I can’t tell the quality of cheese but my Classic ½ cheese sandwich did taste good. The sandwich wasn’t huge and maybe since it was half the amount of cheese, it didn’t feel greasy or heavy. There was also room for dessert nearby afterwards!

Located inside Anaheim Packing District. Sunday afternoon my friend said she wanted grilled cheese and wine. Well what better way to end the weekend — Sunday funday! When she said grilled cheese though I was thinking it was gonna be something heavy with a lot of butter and cheddar, but it wasn’t. It was way better. I got the #1 cause I noticed it has goat cheese in it, and I’m currently obsessed with goat cheese yum :3. It has a subtle sweetness to it from the caramelized onions and goes so well with the pesto and has a light fresh taste to it from the tomatoes. Bottom line — bomb! The pickle on the side adds as a nice touch. We took our grilled cheese to the bar right across and sat there and paired it with some red wine. They had a live band playing inside that day, which made everything that much more enjoyable.

WOW, that was Great! I really wasn’t expecting much. it’s grilled cheese right. NOT! First thanks«Black Sheep» for inviting the Elite Unilocalers to try«The Pork» grilled cheese at the most recent Unilocal Elite event at the Packing House. When I first saw that the chef was cutting the sandwich into ¼s I was glad as I didn’t expect much and had 18 other places to try, but after the first bite I was a little disappointed about the other ¾s not being in front of me. ;( LOCATION&AMBIANCE(Rating 4) It’s a café style counter you sit at while watching them prepare the sandwiches. It’s in the Packing House so it’s «Packed» with people and loud but that’s why you came! SERVICE(Rating 3.75) There really wasn’t much interaction with regards to the service. I would have enjoyed a little info about what was being served and a smile or two but they were very busy and I get it. They handled their jobs well and were all business. THEPORK(Rating 5) This thing is great! It comes with Swiss, porchetta, harissa garlic aioli and balsamic onion jam. The flavors are big, the meat is tasty and the cheese is yummy. The balsamic onion jam gives it just the right thwang on the back of the palate as well. I’d do this again!

Always love me a good grilled cheese sandwich, and Black Sheep did not disappoint! Service was good and got a nice recommendation to try the Swiss Raclette sandwich, so we did. We had: #1 — goat cheese, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, arugula pesto #3 swiss raclette, cornichons, pickled red onions, potato chips Plus a side of tomato soup. You HAVE to have some tomato soup to dip your grilled cheese in! Good creaminess to the tomato soup and it added that extra touch of yummy to our sandwiches. The bread was the perfect crispness and held in all that cheesy, ooey gooey goodness just fine. Both sandwiches tasted delicious and I would not hesitate to get again. If you’re thirsty they’ve got a few drink selections to choose from. If you prefer just water and don’t feel like paying for the«boxed» water they sell, just go to the restaurant across the way and get free water from their dispenser. Black Sheep is located on the upper floor in the Anaheim Packing District. If you’re a grilled cheese fan, give ‘em a try!

This place was«A-OK.» Food: Ordered the #1 as it is their most popular and was recommended to us by the cashier. The best part of this in my opinion was the taste and texture of the marbled rye bread. Pressed between the bread is goat cheese, arugula pesto, onions and roasted tomatoes. The sandwich itself was okay, I think it had too much onions and not enough of everything else. The quality of the goat cheese was wonderful, but wish they added more cheese and less onions. Price: We paid about $ 8.00 or so, the portion itself isn’t that big… so I wish the overall quality/taste had been better. Ambiance: Located inside the ever busy and hip Anaheim Packing District. Small little spot with a short counter for dining. Service: Fast, helpful and friendly. Overall: Not the best grilled sammie, but still good enough that I’d have it again.

When I first saw this shop in the Anaheim Packing House in May 2015, it caught my eye. Besides the name and the product, the cute sheep was calling me. However, it wasn’t open at the time. On my next visit in October 2015, the sheep was decorated for Halloween! So very cute! I had to visit him! I sat at the counter next to the Black Sheep and studied the menu… I was going to get #7 «The Kraft» for $ 4, but it was explained to me that it’s just a slice of Kraft cheese(American Singles) in the sandwich. Luckily, I listened and got #6, «The Classic»(smoked cheddar and swiss = $ 7) …YES! This is what a Grilled Cheese Sandwich should taste like! Next time, I will be braver and try one of the other creative sandwiches such as #1 with Goat Cheese. By the way, GCB is Grilled Cheese Bar, if you were wondering. …hahaha!

Mmmm… cheese… I am a cheese addict. Grilled cheese are one of my favorite things to eat, and now people get creative with grilled cheeses and it makes me love them even more! I have been to the Packing House quite a few times now, but we mainly stop in for a chocolate drink and head right out. I decided that we need to start visiting an eatery more often and try everyone out. We ended up here as our first stop. The #1 stood out to me right away. Goat cheese, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, and arugula pesto. I love all of those, especially goat cheese. However I do hate onions. I just left them be though because if they are caramelized and mixed in they do not bother me so much. My husband had the #5, The Man. I don’t remember what all was in it but it involved cheese and salami! After it ringing up to a whopping $ 17 something, we opted out of adding drinks, especially since we were going to get one somewhere else afterwards. You can also add a tomato soup for $ 3. I didn’t see it until later. They did not take that long to make. They came with a pickle spear on the side as well. While I could make this a lot cheaper and probably a few more times than once, I really enjoyed my sandwich as well as the bites I had of my husband’s sandwich. Flavor was great. I am already craving another one.

*Grilled Cheese** at the Anaheim Packing House Quite frankly, anything at the Anaheim Packing gets a thumbs up from me! I love coming here! And if you love grilled cheese, give this place a try. I am not a cheese fan though, anymore. Watching my figure. lol. They have several options, a bit pricey but it’s the Anaheim Packing House, so the rent can’t be that cheap here. If you want something for kids, they offer a kraft cheese sandwich. They have a Classic one if you don’t want anything on it, and $ 2 less if you want less cheese on that one, $ 5, so luckily I asked about the menu, other wise that one was $ 7, just for a grilled cheese. Ouch! I rather spend my money at PopBar! :))) Anyway, short review because what can I say about Grilled Cheese, either you like it or you don’t. It’s not dessert lol but this place deserved a review since I been here before and I took quite a few photos but unsure if it will come up in the review! I hope it does! I should have asked about the soup that I seen in photos! I did not see soup on the menu! ;\ They have a variety of chips and bottled drinks and boxed water!!! :) Take your food over to a bar stool and people watch while you eat. Love the vibes here! Then go get dessert a few places here! Ice cream or gelato pop or crepes!!! :) Thanks for reading! ~*Kenzie*~

Who doesn’t love a good ol’ grilled cheese sammie? This is a favorite of mine and always has been. As much as I love the traditional kind, I thoroughly enjoy amped up grilled cheese sammies that have interesting and unique ingredients. This is why I had to try GCB when I was finally able to stop by the Anaheim Packing District. The hubby and I tried two different sammies… their #1 and #8…both recommended by the staff. They are made to order so we waited a little while but it wasn’t too bad. Both sambas were really good but I’d have to admit that I enjoyed #8 a tiny bit more. It still had the yummy feel of an old fashioned grilled cheese but had some extra oomph with the addition of some unexpected ingredients. I hope to be in the area again soon so I can try other options!

This place is as good as it gets for grilled cheese sandwiches even though I am not a huge fan of grilled cheese since they are overpriced. I’m a pastrami sandwiche and burgers kind of guy. I think most grilled cheese spots are overpriced. How can a grilled cheese sandwich really cost $ 8 – 10 by itself before any drinks or any other additions? Couldn’t bring myself to just get cheese so I ordered the number 8 I think… whatever…it’s called The Pork: swiss, porchetta, harissa garlic aioli, onion jam. The cheese was gooey, meat was tender, and the onion jam was sweet and offered a nice contrast to the savory meat and cheese. Unless you really are into quality foods, that is usually what the complaint is: the price. Try enough quality and good tasting foods and you learn to appreciate spots like Black Sheep GCB. Of course as you know this is located in the Packing House. Staff was nice and enthusiastic and it looks like if you had any questions or needed help, they were ready to do so without it making it seem like a burden to do so. Unfortunately I don’t recall what was in it, but it had the right combination for me to be pleased and satisfied. This place really is a quality grilled cheese spot. From the bread to the cheese and thinly sliced meats that were in my sandwich – nothing was overpowering yet everything could be made it by your tastebuds. The quality speaks for itself! For them to keep the price range at $ 8 – 10 is pretty amazing.
