Went back to get some lunch and found out that the place was sold and renamed… MIlan’s. I decided to give it a hot and it was great. enjoyed GOOD pasta and Italian dishes!(they also have Czech food) can’t forget to mention the amazing Tiramisu & wine! We love this place

I want to first point out that the average rating is from service, not from the food. We had tried this place out a good three or four years ago. Food was delicious, but we never rushed to come back due to the extremely slow service. It was a full house that night, but it took us over two hours to get out of there. My husband had an Entertainment coupon to buy a meal and get one free(up to a $ 10.99 value), so we decided to give it another shot. We arrived, and we were the only ones there. Mind you, it was between 3:00 and 3:30. We were immediately seated. I decided to order the chicken alfredo and he ordered the beef ravioli and spaghetti combination. We were served complimentary bread, and decided on salads for the soup or salad option which comes with the meals. Our dinners arrived before we even got halfway through the salad, so we were thinking that service would be quick this time.(I would hope, being the only people there). I thought that the bread was yummy, and soft. He had said the outside seemed a little hard for him, but we enjoyed it all. As for the salad… Meh. Not a whole lot on it and the bleu cheese that we had seemed a little flavorless. I don’t know what he thought about his food, but he did say it was good. I found mine to be quite tasty. I felt that it was one of the better chicken alfredo dishes that I have ever had. I also liked that the chicken was already all chopped up. Flavor was there, and quite a bit too. I was satisfied. We also ordered a slice of tiramisu to share. Wow! One of the best that I have had. I have not had it from many places, but this was so delicious in my opinion, and so moist too. I recommend getting it. Now to the cons… Once the food came out, service went back to what we experienced before, only less bad because we were alone. We waited forever to ask for a dessert and then the check, as well as a box. My portion was more than enough for me. She had checked on us a few times right after we started eating, but not much after that. Refills were never offered, so we spent $ 2.25 on each tea with no refills or even an offer for one. Also the check was calculated right with the coupon, but there was an extra $ 19.99 charge on it! I went to have it corrected. She kept saying that she had no idea why it was there and corrected it right away. We are thinking that maybe it was a previous charge that had not been cleared out. So what I recommend is, if you are feeling pretty patient one day and want yummy food, then go for it. Food is good, service is so so.

I have been sitting on this review for a while now and decided it was time to finally get to it. My wife, my mom and I all decided to try this place for dinner awhile back as we had an Entertainment coupon to buy a dinner and get one free. We were immediately greeted and sat in a booth, had our drink orders taken and everything appeared to be moving along swimmingly. After just a few moments in we had our drinks and quickly placed our food orders. As is my usual custom at all Italian places I visit for the first time I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce. The restaurant on this night was semi-busy but not overly so to the point where service should drag but unfortunately this is what happened. After 15 – 20 minutes we finally got our food and that was pretty much the last of the ACTUAL service we saw on this given night. We patiently waited for the server to come back and check on things and refill drinks but this did not happen. The spaghetti itself was portioned very generously and the taste was right on point. The garlic bread was cooked nicely and everyone really seemed to enjoy the food itself. The pricing was great and I can honestly say this place has some amazingly good lunch and dinner specials. The service however was the tipping point and the reason I cannot go higher on my review. I understand slower service if in fact it was a packed house but it wasn’t. How can you justify not returning to a table even once to check on the meal or to fill up the drinks when the restaurant is only half full(full be the time we left). One group of patrons got so tired of waiting for their bill they simply through some cash on the table and walked out. If there is one thing I hate in a restaurant, it’s having to sit and wait for a check. One this night we must’ve waited around 20 – 30 minutes for the check to arrive. Our entire visit was close to an hour and half which is far too long. I definitely believe in second chances and have been wanting to get back here again for a while for a follow-up. Let’s hope the service during our next visit is far superior to our last.

A pleasant suprise. This hole in the wall is located in a plaza that looks kind of sketchy. The outdoor sign looks pretty cheesy but the interior was actually warm and inviting. There were paintings on the wall aka«Carolina’s» and celing fans. The décor was pretty homey. It was 1:15pm and the place was empty except us. They had a special lunch menu. I decided on their spaghetti and meatball for $ 3.99 plus their side salad for $ 2.99 more. The salad was fresh and crisp. Then came the highlight of the meal which was their excellent toasted garlic bread. Dip it in their olive oil/vinegar and its just delicious! The spaghetti was above average. The tomato sauce was simple but tangy and flavorful. There is only 1 small meatball on top of the pasta. Should’ve asked how much they charge for a extra meatball. The portion was perfect. Not too small and not too large where food coma will floor you. My wife had their baked penne pasta with marinara and mozzarella and really enjoyed it. There was only one server and he was cool. No problems there. Overall, dollar for dollar(or pennies), the quality of the food highly surpasses what you pay for. The regular menu has alot of variety but dinner prices goes up considerably compared to lunch so stick with lunch for the best bang for the buck. I will be back.

Prices are reasonable, food is good. Nothing too amazing. Except the bread and the Caruso sauce… that I loveee. We live down the street so this definitely fixes the Italian spot if we were craving. I’ve been here about 6 – 7 times and its always been consistently good. Haven’t had any alcohol when there but I just might next time and see what selection they have :-)

I am giving 5 stars because I feel sorry for this restaurant… I usually come here, but usually for lunch. They have lunch specials that can’t be beat. Good food for great prices! You also get free bread as an appetizer. But I am writing this review primarily to get the owners to make a few changes. Why? Who the hell am I to make suggestions? I have been coming to Demiceli’s when they were on Brookhurst and Chapman back in the late 90’s, then they moved south a few blocks… now here on Euclid and Katella… I remember getting their personal pizza and spaghetti lunch special for $ 4.99 a long time ago… Their spaghetti was actually better back then… anyways… First, they should start making pizzas again, and make them awesome. Yeah, it needs to be better than their Papa John’s neighbor. Second, they need to lower their dinner prices. Yes, they have dinner specials, but that is only on one item. $ 14 – 18 for a dinner plate in unacceptable if they are trying to compete with major chains like Olive Garden, or Buca Di Beppo. Most people including myself would rather pay that amount elsewhere for slightly better food and better décor. I’m not saying their food is bad, because it’s not. It’s actually good, but not quite as good as the other two stated. Yes, there are 2 for 1 specials if you have a coupon… But most people would rather not use a coupon, and therefore not even go. So in conclusion, they need to offer an awesome pizza and lower their dinner prices if they wish to stay in business. Because I have been there many times for lunch and dinner, and it has been almost empty every single time. Sincerely, Your oldest fan.

2nd time here and a little disappointed. It was like a ghost town inside there was 1 other couple. And it was well into the dinner hour. Food was good but diffently less than previous. Plenty of bread to fill up on since I was still kind of hungry when we left. Prices seem to have been raised and I could pay the same price at a larger chain resturant. BOGO deal is good if you clip coupons. I would never pay full price for what you get. The Gnocchi Arribiata was way to spicy. So it was not as enjoyable as it should have been. Chicken Parmigan with Fettucine was very good though.

Wow… sad to see this place go to the dogs. We started going here when they moved from Brookhurst and overall they were pretty good, no major complaints for this American-Italian place. Though over the years things have obviously changed and not for the better. The complaints for this place range from crappy service to crappy food which means crappy business. Service — get there, get seated and seeing as how it was to much of an issue to be provided additional menus I procured some more. Tables were not bused once plates were finished, glasses not refilled, asked for items took forever to get. Pricing — So what used to be a decently cheap place to get some grub has changed into delusions of grandeur of what they think they are serving. $ 10 for spaghetti and meatballs? Really? Food came out and according to the wife Chef Boyardee makes a better marinara sauce. Bland and flavorless not too mention overly sweetened with sugar. The food was bad. the service wasn’t much better. Sad to say here is another restaurant to cross off the list. Seriously why is it so fucking hard to get some ‘decent’ Italian food in the area… Mama Cozza’s blows… so does Rufino’s and don’t get me started on Buca di Beppo or Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill…

Bad experiance. First was sat by a fan running at high speed. Minastroni soup looked and tasted like it was made seaweed. When they brought my lasagna i couldnt get uder it. It was burnt on to the dish. Scrapped off sauce to see a big chunk of charcoal. put it at edge of table and when server walked by HE asked me if i wanted another one. My response was oh you can see that?! The thing that pissed me off was that they knowingly served me BURNTFOOD! and expected me to EAT it then pay for it! Do not eat there. Go to Carolinas instead but be forwarned they forgrt things like drinks and what you ordered. PS. Why? One star? because it wouldnt let me post unless I addedat least a star.

The folks and I have been searching for a good CALZONE in the Orange area, and Demiceli’s was decent. Better than Manahattan Pizza down the street, but not amazing in of itself. We ordered a small(said to serve only one, but prob can feed two) with double pepperoni — it was alright but more thick-doughy than the traditional calzone, and not much sauce on the inside as well. They did use good quality pepperoni though. We also ordered the LASAGNA which was better than most I’ve tried in restaurants. The meat was actually edible!!! haha, i’m a stickler for good quality meat in lasgnas since most times it seems people buy cheap(with lots of nerves in it). But the taste was just okay, I mean once you’ve been raised with authentic lasgana your Italian grandpa makes with 6 different cheeses… it’s hard to find good lasagnas in restaurants that measure up. But I’m gonna go on a limb and say this might be the best I’ve had in the OC, but it wasn’t perfect. The sauce could have used way more flavor, although i’m ecstatic they didn’t resort to drowning it with oregano: D Our server was really nice, she was happy to tell us about the menu items when we had questions. And I LOVED the atmosphere, kind of old. and not really trying to be trendy. Plus a little Dino playing in the background is never a bad thing. Felt very homey and Italian American without all this Jersey Shore nonsense. I’m already planning to return again and try other menu items!

I love these little hole-in-the-wall mom and pop places and it always disappoints me when the food doesn’t quite measure up. Such was the case here. Don’t get me wrong, the food was decent, just not near anything approaching wow. The lasagna had a crispy mozzarella crust, but the interior had too much ricotta and was kind of mushy on the inside. The meat sauce was somewhat above average, but still had some of that out-of-the-can taste. The linguine pesto was OK, but lacking in creaminess and flavor, although better later on after refrigerated and re-heated. I was really disappointed with the tortellini with caruso sauce. The sauce which I thought was going to be a blush, creamy marnara that should have a subtle sweetness and richness to it instead had a weird canned Chef Boy-Ar-Dee taste and the tortellini were overcooked way past al-dente. The garlic bread was very good, it was crispy on the outside with a baked-in garlic cheese flavor to it. I also tried the wedding soup which tasted decent, but nothing special. I’ve only picked up food to go here, never dined in, but the interior looked quaint and cozy and the staff were always very friendly. Prices are also inexpensive and you do get a lot for the money I’d be willing to try this place again, but would rather seek out other Italian eateries I haven’t tried yet first.

3rd time here because my husband is a big fan for Italian food. The entries are delicious in general but a little bit on the salty side for me. We always see the bogo deal at the penny saver & its geat deal for dinner along with their daily special. I gave 3 star for their variety of dishes & good bread!

This place is awesome, good food and amazing service! Came here twice already and both times I left happy and full. First time I came I got their spaghetti w/meat ball and it was okay but the meat balls were good. The second time, which was last night, I got their chicken bagliori and that was to died for, sauce was season well and the chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli were cooked to to perfection. The portion was HUGE too only finish about ¼ of that beast. The unlimited garlic bread was so fresh and make to order. It came out hot and crispy, but soft and dipping it in the olive oil and vinegar is delicious! If you’re not a fan of the olive oil and vinegar, get a side order of their pesto! It’s so creamy! The wedding soup is amazing! Simple yet very flavorful. Totally would come here again for my Italian food cravings! =]

I went here on a Sunday night, no wait. Looks can be deceiving because by the exterior of this place, I would have never guessed the ambiance and décor that awaited me inside. I had the spaghetti and meat sauce. It was alright– a bit tangy, a bit sweet. Portions are pretty big here. Overall, a decent plate. However, next time… I am definitely getting the pesto! Their pesto sauce is a hybrid of regular pesto and creamy alfredo sauce. My friend ordered a side of the sauce for dipping the bread in; t’was DELISH! Ooh, and their bread. Hot and Fresh out of the oven. The top was crispy and flaky with the inside soft and fluffy. Make sure to dip this bread into a oil/vinegar/parmesian cheese concoction and you’re all set. I’m craving this bread right now :) Their meals come with a choice of soup or salad. I opted for the wedding soup. It was simple: broth, spinach, egg, few noodles, and few meat pieces. Its simplicity and tastiness reminded me of chicken noodle soup– comforting and satisfying. Make sure you get this, too. Overall, a good meal. The service was okay. The place is small and not many diners that night, but it service was slow considering. However, they kept the bread coming. I would go here just to dip that delicious bread into the wedding soup. *DROOL***

I was unfortunately with the group that had the two star experience. The wait: The 45 minute wait for a table was fine. We were a larger group and it was a smaller establishment. But we waited again for the menus. For the soups and salad(a significant amount of time) and again for the entrees(again, a very significant amount of time). In addition to the wait, they took even longer for them to bring my friend’s soup out(seemingly a simple egg soup?) — we had all finished our salads and soups by the time he got his… then they told him that they ran out of his dish. We didn’t have time to wait for them to prepare something else so he just shared. The food: Okay. I wasn’t that thrilled with the marinara on my parmigiana. But the portion was big. Not mind blowing enough to warrant all that waiting. Ambiance: Strange — it was very obviously a Mexican place turned Italian. Pretty amusing actually. The service: Super friendly and as accommodating as possible, given the issues they apparently were having in the kitchen. Wouldn’t be my first choice for a revisit.

I avoid this place like the plague. I came here once on good faith because other members of my party were regulars. I feigned interest and even claimed that my food was«good». It was flavorless, despite being overly greasy and smothered in sauce and cheese. I don’t even remember what I got, it was that forgettable. All I know is, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom after that, and I don’t even remember what for. Never again.

If you read Cherie T’s review, that sums up my feelings about this place but for the TLDR version, Here’s my blurb: Food? 3-stars. It wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about. Nothing really to even Unilocal about. Don’t know why this place has high rating. Service? 1-stars w/the exception of one waitress who seemed she was on top of things until about 1.5 hrs into the meal. Average: 2-stars. Why 1-star. The restaurant had(we counted) 6 or 7 servers working the room. This is a small room with about 15 – 20 tables? If you compare that to any other restaurant, this comes out to 2 – 3 tables per server with 4 average 5 people per table. vs. a Cheesecake Factory that has averages 6+ people per table with 5 tables per server. Cheesecake factory manages to nail it with regards to timing too. Quicker eats in/out means more customers. As Cherie said, we were there for a LONG time. We waited way too long to order and even longer for our food. What was supposed to be an at most 2 hr meal took 3+ hrs. This sucked since over half of us were trying to rest up for the big race the next day. Biggest problem I had was that they took an hour to tell me that they ran out of my dish. WTF. An HOUR!!! This is after they brought out everyone’s soup except mine. I had to ask for my soup and then they told me that it had to be made fresh. WTF!!! Strike 1: Soup took forever while everyone else’s was there Strike 2: Waiting an hour to tell me that my dish was sold out Strike 3: The fact that it still took 30 minutes AFTER they told me about my meal(this is 1.5 hrs after we ordered) to get us the food. That means they’re OUT. So why 1 star for service then? That same waitress who told me about my meal(an hour late mind you) and the soup, offered me spumoni. After i declined, the rest of my group said they wanted it and we ended up all getting it. This all after too damn long for what was supposed to be a quick meal. If the people who had reviewed this place already weren’t elite, I’d swear the rating on this place was bloated from family/friends of the restaurant. Would I go back? MAYBE. If they had a way to prove they changed things. P. S. I’d like to also echo the wtf about the burro w/the mexican flag on it in the italian restaurant.

short version: 1. food was whatever — i’ve had way better italian food elsewhere 2. service was extra slow… so slow to the point where I got annoyed 3. it took them 1 hr later to tell us that one of our dish was sold out. wtf?! 4. no, you will not find me here again. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - So i’m seeing lots of 4 stars rating … i’m confused. i must have gone to Demiceli’s the wrong day. And is this a mexican owned italian restaurant? or a mexican restaurant that was converted to italian cuisine?! These were the questions that we had during the night. A group of us went to Demiceli’s on saturday night because the runners of our group wanted to carbo load for the Disney ½ Marathon. So Jennifer A. searched on Unilocal and found Demiceli’s — very close to our hotel so off we went. We probably waited for almost 1 hr for our table… okay that’s fine. I wasn’t too annoyed at that time since there were a lot of people dining in the restaurant. When we got seated, we placed our orders… even then that took awhile for the waitress to come over. It took awhile to get our soups /salads on top of that while the 5 of us got our first course, Eric L. was still waiting for his Stracciatella soup. We even had to ask the waitress what happened and her response was that the soup needs to be FRESHLY prepared. And when it was finally served it was chicken stock w/poached egg white and spinach. seriously how hard does it take to make that? Our food took forever to arrive. and on top of that it took them almost 1 hr to tell Eric L. that what he ordered was sold out. Seriously? Shouldn’t the chef know that you guys don’t have the ingredients right away when you first saw the order? Why did it take so long to come out to tell us «sorry, but we ran out of sausages» !!! We looked at the time and it was almost 9pm … keep in mind, these runner had to wake up at 4am to go run. our dinner has already lasted 2 hrs and our orders have not arrived. Finally our orders came and the food was just okay. nothing special. I mean for me to wait this long, i was thinking THISDISH better be good. My minestrone soup was too peppery and too much parmesan for a vegetable soup. I ordered the Spinach Ravioli — i think Costco’s or Sam’s club frozen packages taste better than Demiceli’s. THEONLY good thing about this resturant was our waitress. She had a smile on her face throughout the night and she also felt bad that we had to wait this long and that our order was messed up — she offered complimentary ice cream at the end. Would I come back? «me thinks not»

I’m writing this review sober but I wish I were drunk. Would like to forget this dinner forever. Awful food, nothing that is authentic Italian, and poorly prepared. Cook obviously never spent one minute in cooking school. Watery, overcooked(reheated maybe?) pasta, wedding soup not even close to real Italian wedding soup, boring flavors, just crap. NEVERAGAIN. They could comp me a meal and I would REFUSETOEATIT. Yes, that bad.
