I was so blessed to have found Sherry to be my doula! It was definitely a God-​send! My son was born Nov 2015 and I couldn’t have done it without sherry by my side. Her support and service were outstanding. She was not only there for me but for my husband and baby as well, to guide us all through the process (before, during, and after).
She met with us before hand and was very thorough, comforting, and encouraging. We felt so prepared from all the advice and expert insight. She provided us with material and even demonstrated labor techniques during prenatal visits. Her presence during my labor and delivery kept me calm and focused (she was even hands on when the nurse solicited help– thank you soooo much Sherry!!!). And to this day I still apply the advice, tips, and tricks she gave during our postpartum visits (best diaper rash ointment!).

I luckily found Sherry while interviewing several Doulas when I was pregnant. I instantly connected with Sherry’s warmth and knew she would be the support I needed during my labor and birth as I was attempting a VBAC. She also was willing to work with us and our budget. We met with Sherry prior to our birth and had my son not surprise us one month early we were set to meet again just a few weeks before my due date. My experience ended up different than how I had hoped BUT Sherry was there for me to help support me in the direction my labor/​birth had to go (emergency c-​sec). She helped calm me when faced with this dilemma and was waiting for me and my husband after my surgery. She stayed around for a while after for moral support! The whole experience was a whirlwind that some of it I would like to forget, but what I will remember about my birth experience is the awesome experience I had with my Doula Sherry. She was like having a great friend be part of my son’s birth and that I will never forget! I highly recommend her!

Prior to finding Sherry from Birth & Beyond I looked into buying a birth tub. If I bought a tub I would be spending $ 50 – 100 more versus renting. I didn’t see the benefit in buying the tub even though it was no much more because I didn’t know what I would do with it after the birth. I wanted to be earth conscious also, so it was an easy decision to rent vs buy.
Sherry had everything I needed. She rented me a La Bassine with all the necessary accessories (ie. pump, hose, water faucet connection) along with additional supplies (ie. thermometer, net, tarp, sump pump). The equipment was very clean and came with instructions that were easy to follow. The contract for rental was very fair, allowing a 1 month rental. In addition, Sherry was awesome to work with, she was so accommodating, driving to me to drop off/​pick up the tub and so professional, kind and thankful. I wished I also used her as a doula after meeting her.

I did not use her as a doula (because we already had one), but I would highly recommend her as a doula. She is so passionate about labor, babies, moms and life. She makes you smile and feel good about yourself. To have her in your corner while laboring would provide a calmer, more supported experience.

We chose Sherry as our birth doula and so glad we did. She’s a breath of fresh air; super sweet and willing to do anything to make the birthing experience as smooth as possible. On game day we called her at the last minute because my wife’s labor progressed a lot quicker than we expected and it so happened that she was on her way to Disneyland! Well guess what? She dropped her plans to be with us! That speaks to her dedication to her clients. Another thing we appreciated was that she prayed for us when we were laboring. She kept my wife hydrated by bringing a lot of water during labor. She also spoon fed my wife after birth. We can’t thank her enough for being so nurturing!

I was lucky enough to have her with me during my labor and all I can say is she really made a difference! She went above and beyond to be supportive, gentle, loving, respectful, and kind.
Sherry met with us beforehand and we discussed the things we wanted from a doula. She talked to us about ways she could be there for us and she was completely flexible with our style. She even gave us handouts on books to read, what to expect, what supplies to have for labor, and other very helpful information.
Sherry also kept in contact with us as the weeks and days approached. She guided me during early labor by giving me tips, encouragement, and helpful information about each stage. Finally, she was amazing at the actual labor… more than I could have ever expected!
