Only taking one star for the lack of insurance coverage now. They have completely dropped their college insurance program for students. Bummer! Still come in for routine check up every 6 months and now am seeking insurance to cover my fees so I only have to pay a deductible Everything is being renovated and going digital, which is neat. Getting used to the new staff, which is hard to adjust after 6 months. . Also, the dentistry has changed their name to Crescent Dentistry.

Ok, so I went to Dr. Hammonds office while he was still with us, via spring of 2009. Him and his staff were so kind and gracious, and he was very honest with me. Now I read these reviews below which were overwhelmingly negative, found out that Dr. Hammonds passed away, and felt very discouraged. However, I still decided to make my appointment here. I had a woman doctor, Dr. Donachev, take a look at my mouth and pull a wisdom tooth for me. She was very kind, honest, and worked very hard to get that tooth out. In addition, the staff, especially at the front desk, actually treated me very kindly and honestly. Not having any insurance, they actually charged me a very fair price to have this wisdom tooth pulled, and only 50 dollars for a regular exam with xrays! AND i didn’t even make an appointment for this exam-I walked in and waited about 30 mins or so and they took me in for the exam. I didn’t run into the dentist(s) that run the office now, i.e. kimball, but I had a great experience with the lady doctor(who apparently is only there on thursdays). So I can’t honestly agree with the below comments… I had a pretty good experience here both times.

So sorry to see Dr Hammonds office go down the way it has. It would help a lot if Dr Kimball would get rid of the woman at the front desk. She only makes things a lot more difficult than they need to be. Steer clear of her, if you can.

Unfortunately, Dr Kimball and Dr Borquez don’t run the office the same way that Dr Hammonds did. I had two regular cleanings in the past year, but the dentists have yet to check my teeth! My extent of interaction with Dr Borquez was a quick hello. The dental hygienist(who also worked under Dr Hammonds) is very friendly and seems to do most of the work. On another note, although I remember hearing talk about equipment upgrades in the past, everything is still the same as years ago — old fashioned x-ray machines, dental records, etc. They do accept a wide range of insurance though, including Western Dental. Over all, I suppose if you only need minor dental maintenance, this office is satisfactory.

I used to love Dr. Hammond’s office. I had been going to his office since the 90s. Unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly last December. A lot of the staff is the same but the front desk has changed and I don’t like it. I’ll probably keep going here but I’m thinking about 7 day Dental. UPDATE3÷27÷2012. Had my an appointment with one of the dentist. He said that my front tooth was pushed back and I had some behind it on my gum. He asked if I got hit in the mouth because that’s how this tooth would normally get pushed back. I hadn’t but kind of felt like he thought I was lying about it. Except for this statement he didn’t say anything else to me. I had seen Dr. Borquez before and you couldn’t get him to stop talking. He’s is nice enough but talks too much, especially about his life. I never knew anything personally about Dr. Hammond except he loved puzzles, was very kind, professional, and his staff loved him. With Dr. Borquez I heard too much about his divorce, the issues he had with his parents and siblings, etc. Way too much personal stuff. I want to talk about my teeth and that’s it. I still have my same hygienist so I will finish the year and switch to 7 Day Dental. Update 2÷13÷2013: No longer a patient here. Too much as changed as listed above and not for the better. :*(
