Ryan C., thanks for giving us the opportunity to participate in this event! The event was fantastic. I am definitely coming back so I can do a review of all the food. When we went in, we checked in and got our Unilocal socks(yay!) We had several courses of dishes, beginning with appetizers, dinner and the best baklava I’ve ever had. The seating arrangements were great, because Ryan sat us next to some new Unilocalers that I have never met before. It was nice to see new faces. The staff at Medii were AMAZING. They deserve an extra A+. The owner/chef came out and spoke to us during the meal. He is definitely putting a lot of love and care into his restaurant and I love seeing that.

This was my first OC/California Unilocal event and was a great way to be introduce to this community. Such a fool of me to not introduce myself to the community manager right away but after everyone kept mentioning his name I figured out who Ryan was. I was just too excited to get my Unilocal socks… what!!! Made some friendly Unilocalers, which I’m also following on instagram because their photos make me hungry. And had great Mediterranean food that I would recommend. Its really hard to find a good Mediterranean place, especially if your not one who really cares for it. I mean I love hummus and gyros but I really don’t stray from these two items. This event really opened my eyes to this cuisine and it was really tasty as well. The chef went into details with some of the dishes so I knew what it was called, what was in and and why I did or didnt liked it. They make everything from scratch! Always a plus in my book :)

YAY For: –Attending Ryan’s(Meditteranean) YEE – it’s been a while =) –Free Socks for Elite(who knew?!) –Free red shades for the plus one –Obviously the OC Ringleader –Andrew & new Unilocal buds Thomas O, Kevin N, Sitha I, Peter, Cat N & Thao –Free Riesling – uhh huh, either that or complimentary Newcastles –Fantastic Amuse Bouche: –Tasty 1st Course, ESPECIALLY the one with mushed chickpeas: –Vitalizing 2nd Course, given in three different plates:
–Interestingly minty 3rd Course: –Stunningly yummy 4th Course: –Stupendous & just-right sweet 5th Course: –That exceptional, super garlicky tahini-like sauce for the Chicken Kabob –Chef Chris’ inventivness to certain ingredients to result in a little more unique flavor to these courses –Unexpectedly full dinner – I mean I left Medii feeling like a bloated yet borderline full balloon NAY For: –Perhaps a pretty long gap between timing of certain plates; one will come over 10 min after completely finishing the predecessor –Me forgetting to ask the servers to give me a sauce cup-amount of that garlicky sauce OKAY For: –Driving for over ½ an hour and then being in the YEE for 2.5 hour-lapse for such generous & jovial service, including Chef Chris Like I said on my very 1stYEE attendance from Ryan’s, keep him being our CM, Unilocal.Keep him ;P. Thanks so much for this phenomenal, slightly small YEE. Toast with Riesling and refillable Newcastles!

Thanks again Ryan for another awesome event! This was my second time to one of Ryan’s events, and again I had a blast. Not only was the food excellent, the unlimited beer and wine kept everyone in very lively spirits. Good food, good drinks, and good company… what more do you need? The owner and staff of Medii Kitchen were also very accommodating. They were on top of every empty glass, and seemed very concerned for our satisfaction. I left satisfied alright! I will never eat before one of these«tasting» events ever again. It was pretty much a 5 course meal! My favorites of the night were the hummus trio, kibbeh, and their baklava! The chicken kabob plate was enjoyable as well, but I think the diversity of their menu beyond normal staples was a big plus. I’d recommend people to come try Medii if they’re looking for good mediterranean food in a nice fine dining setting. Til we eat again!

I don’t eat Mediterranean food very often, but from now on, when I do, I prefer Medii Kitchen! Huge thank you to Ryan C. for coordinating this lovely meal event for us Unilocalers! With that being said, I hope I’ll have the chance to revisit this restaurant again very, very soon. Medii Kitchen is legitimate, family owned, and many of their authentic dishes are prepared with recipes that have been passed down from generations within the owner’s family. Quality food made with quality ingredients =). Cozy ambiance that’s very inviting and intimate. The restaurant theme lends itself to Medieval times; everything from the furnishings, dishes, tables, chairs, lighting, floors, and etc. The place is draped in fine Medieval décor. There’s a beautiful display counter case filled with an array of baklava, cakes, and other assorted desserts and there are towering built in shelves filled with wine bottles against the walls of the restaurant. Very nice setting indeed! The service here was EXCELLENT. The servers were so kind, friendly, helpful, attentive, and overall, just awesome at their jobs. Our drinks were constantly filled and the servers constantly checked in on us. Chef/owner Chris even came out to introduce himself, his dishes, and visited each table to personally greet everyone! That was pretty exciting. Very cool dude =). Onto the fun stuff… FOOD! Appetizer: Crispy pita chips and a spread of finely chopped olives — A fine combination of textures and tastes. I LOVE olives, so I found this very satisfying. The dish stimulated our appetites as the opener. A sample trio of Hummus, Babaghanoush, & Muhamara dips — Accompanied with a basket of warm pita bread. I was impressed with all of them. **Hummus — consists of garbanzo beans, sesame oil, lemon juice. **Babaghanoush — Mashed roasted eggplant w/lemon juice, tahini, garlic. **Muhamara — Spicy walnut dip w/pepper paste, olive oil, spices, bread crumbs, and pomegranate molasses. Kibbeh — A deep fried dumpling ball filled with ground beef, onions, & pine nuts. *Very delicious! Sarma — Rolled grape leaves stuffed with rice, onions, pomegranate juice, and spices. *This was one of my favorite dishes of the night! I loved the soft texture and interesting spices. Tasted very healthy and delicious. Cheese Boregs — Akin to fried wontons with cheese, this looked like a deep fried dumpling. Filled with cheese and spices. *Unique flavors that will only please your palate. Fatoosh Salad — Mixed greens tossed w/cucumbers, chopped tomatoes, red onions, radish, olive oil, fresh mint, a Mediterranean vinaigrette dressing, and toasted pita chips. *The vinaigrette dressing was soooo refreshing and good. The greens were crisp and fresh, and the toasted pita chips complemented the salad perfectly. LOVEDIT. Chicken Kebab & veggie skewers with buttered rice & sliced almonds — Main entrée of the night! You get 1 skewer of large chunks of chicken and 1 skewer of various veggies(red & green bell pepper, onion, mushroom). The chicken was so juicy and perfectly tender, the veggies were grilled nicely, and the buttered rice was to die for. I had to take most of it to-go because my stomach was already distended from the previous dishes served. Baklava — Dessert to conclude our fine meal. I had to take this home, and it was seriously the best baklava I have ever had. Lightly sweetened. I honestly cannot wait to go back and try many of their other dishes!!!

My first Unilocal Elite event thanks to Phuong K. taking me in as a +1 This was a very small and intimate event and wasn’t what I expected at all! Great idea with placing us at tables to mingle with other Unilocalers Ryan! Loved the idea. The décor and ambiance of the restaurant was not what I expected at all upon pulling up into the plaza. The food was delicious and I definitely want to go back. Chris has done something special with Medii and the least I can do is come back with some friends to spread awareness. Loved the Olive Dip, Dip Plate and Chicken Kabob dishes the most! Actually, everything was good but those are my favorites. This event re inspired me to work towards gaining Elite status. Thank you Medii Kitchen and Unilocal

I think Medii Kitchen set a pretty high standard for YEE, since it was my first. I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Ryan’s Elite event page listed lots of food and beer and wine, but I expected samplers. And, boy, were my expectations exceeded to the max! It was a 5 course meal with the first 3 courses served as appetizer plates to share. It was a ton of food. Highlights for me: Olive dip: I actually don’t really know what the name of this was. But it was almost like salsa, Mediterranean style, served with pita chips. Delicious! I didn’t even realize this wasn’t part of the first course. Muhamara: This is 10x better than hummus, and the best out of 3 dips they served. It is a walnut and pomegranate based dip. It has a great balance between spice and sweet. Sarma: I’ve tried this several times at other restaurants and I haven’t enjoyed it in the past. But Medii did something right with this. It wasn’t served too cold and it wasn’t too sour/tarty. Chicken Skewer: The chicken was tender and juicy. The rice that came with it was different, very plump. By the time we got to this 4th course, I was stuffed but still finished it. Baklava: It was homemade and a perfect end to a wonderfully filling meal. They also had other desserts on display. When I come back, I’m definitely sampling those. I drank the Coppola red blend and the glasses were refilled regularly. And to top it off, I got some Elite socks and other goodies. My husband and I were very fortunate that Ryan sat us at an awesome table. Great company, great food… AWESOME event! Thanks, Ryan!

Great event Ryan! I cant believe that I almost was not going to go to this event… I was debating whether or not to go at the last minute since I was feeling super sick and I had a bunch of presentations to prep for, but I decided to might as well go since I got confirmed for it. I took one of my good friends as my +1. Its actually located across the street from the Slaters 50⁄50. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this event… I thought I’d sample one few small bites and have some drinks… no biggie, but what we ended up getting was a full meal and some! I had food coma at the end of us. I loved everything that we got to try. It was all delish! We got a 6 course meal First: Olive tapenade and pita chips Second: Medii trio of hummus, babaghanoush, and Muhamara. Third: Sarma, Kibbeh, and Cheese Boregs. Fourth: Fatoosh Salad Fifth: Chicken tenderloin kabobs w/veggie skewer & almond rice Sixth: Baklava The highlights for me were: The cheese boregs, fatoosh salad(the dressing was so good!). Also, the chicken kabobs were probably the best I’ve had. so tender and flavorful. Thanks to the owner/chef, Chris! Awesome food and I will for sure be back!

Fantastic event again Ryan! This was a very intimate tasting, so I wasn’t expecting much food. But everyone at our table was stuffed by the end! Chef/Owner Chris was super nice and came by all the tables multiple times to explain how everything was prepared. The man is talented. I have never had Armenian /Syrian food before, but it was amazing! There was not one course that wasn’t spot on. First: Olive tapenade and home made pita chips Second: Medii trio of hummus, babaghanoush, and Muhamara.(More on this below) Third: Sarma, Kibbeh, and Cheese Boregs. Fourth: Fatoosh Salad Fifth: Chicken tenderloin kabobs w/veggie skewer & almond rice Sixth: Baklava The Muhamara was a revelation for me. It is SO much better than traditional hummus. Chris said he makes it by blending walnuts, red peppers, olive oil, bread crumbs, and pomegranate molasses. Addictive! I was also impressed with the Kibbeh, which is ground beef and spices wrapped inside a cracked wheat coating that reminds me of polenta or masa, then fried so it’s crispy outside and moist inside. I could eat a hundred of these things! The cheese Boregs were also super tasty. Kind of like a crispy empanada with ricotta cheese inside. The chicken tenderloin skewers were marinated in some sort of a yellow spice blend that was amazingly tasty. They tasted like they were cooked over a wood grill. Smoky and tender. Perhaps the most surprising dish of the night was the simplest… the rice that came with the chicken. Yes, I said rice. It looked like basic white rice with slivered almonds. But holy crap, this might be the best rice I have ever tasted. It was buttery and obviously nutty, somehow rich and light at the same time. Impossible to describe it, but it complimented the chicken perfectly. A home run. With a packed house like this, you can expect service to be a little overwhelmed, but not here. They were quick and attentive and super friendly. And to top it all off I got to meet some new Unilocal friends. Fantastic night. I will definitely be back with friends for dinner soon!

This was my first«Elite» event and it was fantastic!!! Ryan did a great job with this and I am looking forward to many more great times. I loved that Ryan personally sat us, I loved the table I sat with, great company for my first«Elite» event! The first item we tried was not on the tasting menu but it was DELICIOUS!!! Olive dip with Pita chips, perfect balance of tart & spice with a hint of sweetness, I want MORE!!! Next was the trio of dips, also delicious… Hummus was really smooth with the perfect amount of garlic and the Walnut(red) dip was also(you guessed it) delicious(it reminded me of Tamarindo) I didn’t try the 3rd dip, I was trying to pace myself and was talking so much to my table(it really was that fun!) there were 2 more appetizers after this! Then we were served a Fattoush salad, I really love the freshness of this salad, lemon, mint & olive oil, so simple and so tasty! Next was the main course, Chicken and Vegetable Skewers w the best rice EVER!!! I couldn’t even finish my food, I was so stuffed at this point but I was still looking forward to the dessert. The service was the absolute best!!! The servers were on point all night long, they had great energy & personality! Our drinks were never empty, we never had too many plates on the table. The Chef/Owner(handsome guy) came over to our table more than once to engage in conversation and answer questions we had about how he prepared the dishes. I am definitely going back for more! Thanks Ryan ;)

I arrived late and missed the first course but not to worry! Food was a-plenty! As a +1 guest of my Elite BFF I was very excited to attend and Ryan was a fabulous event host. He made the event very intimate and classy and the focus remained on the food and service of this Mediterranean restaurant. Which I must say was perfect in every way.

By far the best YEE I’ve gone to so far. Ryan did a great job setting things up and having us sit next to other elites and getting to know one another. The chef and staff were very hospitable and friendly — kept the drinks flowing and the food coming and always checking up on us. Most importantly: The food was great! My roommate and one of my close friends is Armenian and I’ve gone to my share of family parties/get togethers/LEFTOVERS. lol. The dishes reminded me of the food that his family prepares for parties with the care and«love» put into it. Everything was amazing, the hummus ranks up there on the top. The red one was also really good, although the name is a little harder to pronounce. I especially was surprised at the grape leaf dish, as my friend has had me try these but I absolutely hated them and thought it was weird to eat leaves… Surprisingly, I loooooved these ones. The chicken wasn’t bad at all either, and reminded me of an upscale version of Zankou Chicken. I didn’t think it was possible, but their garlic sauce beats out the dank Zank. I’m still burping up the delicious garlic flavors as I’m typing this review. Baklava: wow! Not too sweet, not too dry, just right. I’ve had different Baklavas from Wholesome Choice(Irvine area anyone?) and from a little Baklava shop nearby the Zankou Chicken in Santa Ana… This one beats out the other two by far! Well presented and goes great with that Raspberry sauce. Will be back!

I’ve been to a handful of Unilocal events in the past 4 years, but the two I’ve been to that Ryan C. organized has been the best. I’ve never been to Medii Kitchen, but I love Mediterranean food so when I got in I was STOKED! Even better it was a plus 1 event and I found out my friend Priscilla C.(who I call T.T. but the reason will be hush hush har har) and her man were coming. Woo hoo double date and it’s free!!! When my man, Brian W., and I arrived we saw that Priscilla and her man arrived so we got seated at the same table. YAY! We got greeted right away by our amazing server and she asked what we would like to drink. Brian and I got beer and lots of it heh heh. As we were waiting for our course the server brought out some pita bread with tapenade. Around 7:30 Chris, the owner, came out and gave us some of his background and explained what we would be eating. We had a 5 course meal(it was actually more because a couple of the courses had 3 different items) It was definitely a treat and I feel SPOILED and I LOVE it! Course 1 Medii Trio: Hummus, babaghanoush, & muhamara with some fresh warm pita bread. Ok I’ve had hummus and babaghanoush and Meddi’s was fantastic, but muhamara I’ve never had and I want to kick myself in the face for never having it before. It was SO good! Sweet, spicy, nutty… MMMMMMMMMMMMM I will definitely be back just to order this and order some to go! Course 2 –Sarma: Meat and rice mixture wrapped in a grape leaves. Delicious! It was savory and tangy and mm mmm finger lickin good! –Kibbeh: Reminded me of a fried croquette. Filled with meat, onions, and other spices… this was another one of my favorites… I wish I had 10 more :( –Cheese Boreg: Someone at our table said it reminded her of a cream cheese wonton. It was different cheeses wrapped in phyllo dough… it looked like an empanada… once again this was amazing. I had to have two heh heh… sorry to the others at the table. Course 3 –Fatoosh Salad: YUM! I love salad and this one was great! Sweet, tangy, salty, crunchy, nom nom nom in my mouth! Course 4 –Chicken Tenderloin Kebob w/Veggie Skewer and Rice: I love chicken, veggies, and rice so obviously I LOVED this dish. But I was so full I only had a piece of chicken, a mushroom, and some rice. I had to take the rest to go. But let me tell you that chicken was moist and seasoned perfectly. I ended up cutting it up and putting it into a salad for today’s lunch heh heh. The rice was SO good! Buttery and the almonds just made the texture perfect. Course 5 –Baklava: I am NOT a sweets person… I barely crave it and never order it, but I’m so glad I got a piece of it. It was SOOO good! Best baklava I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too sweet and the layers of phyllo was crunchy mmmmm Overall it was an amazing event. Thank you to Ryan C. Chris from Medii and OC Unilocal!I will DEFINITELY come back and I can’t wait to try the lamp chops! nom nom nom. PS if you were wondering about the hookah that was near the bar area… word it that the lounge may start serving hookah… hopefully by summer *fingers crossed*

My dear friend Juliet C. got into her first Unilocal Elite Event at the Medii Kitchen and bought me along as her plus 1. It was the most amazing event to welcome new Unilocalers too since there was delicious food and drinks galore. The entire restaurant was closed for all us Unilocalers and plus 1s! As we got seated we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we were treated to a 5 course Mediterranean meal! Although after all the dishes arrived it was more like a 8 course meal! Appetizer: Pita chips and olives — I usually don’t like olives but this was delicious and very tasty! The hint of spiciness really opened up my palate. Humus, Babaghanoush, Muhamara — this was a trio of dips that came with a basket full of pita bread. Each one had its own distinct favor yet complimented each other very well. Sarma — This dish consists of rice wrapped in grape leaves. It was very unique and I compared it to a Mediterranean version of a spring roll. Kibbeh — It immediately reminded me of Porto’s potato balls! They were crunchy on the outside and there was ground beef and pine nuts in the inside. Cheese Boregs– They looked like deep fried wontons with cheese inside. Fatoosh salad– This is one of the best salads I have ever tasted! It looked like any regular salad at first with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions but the vinaigrette dressing was so savory that I couldn’t stop eating! I also liked the addition of mint leaves, it gave the salad a nice kick and tasted very refreshing. Chicken Tenderloin Kebob w/Veggie Skewer and Rice — This was the main entrée but I was stuffed by the time it arrived. We were all scared the chicken would be dry but it was not the case at all! The meat was juicy and tender and the marinade was so good! We also enjoyed eating it with the delicious garlic dip! Baklava — An awesome dessert to help end our filling meal. You can never go wrong with baklava! Overall I was highly impressed by the presentation and taste of all the dishes. The prices were also extremely affordable and I will definitely be coming back with family and friends in the future! Thank you Ryan C, all the servers at Medii Kitchen, Chef Chris, and of course my beautiful Juliet C for the opportunity to attend such an amazing dining experience!

Raise a glass to the staff and head chef, Chris, of Medii Kitchen… to all the busy servers, who never missed a beat in refilling our water/wine glasses, picked up our silverware, served our meals, and just all around friendly and accommodating to every guest. Raise another glass to Ryan, our awesome and hardworking CMYE, for hosting this event and his sidekick, intern, Shiv, for taking awesome photos of the food and guests. Medii Kitchen offers a relaxing, yet classy atmosphere. Wine bottles and pretty vases are decorated on the wall reflected by blue lighting, and dark wood furnishings. The restroom is interesting with a big wooden door as if it was part of a medieval castle. The décor at Medii Kitchen is unique, and gives a slightly«upscale» look. By the end of the night, there was sooo much food! We kept eating and drinking, eating and drinking, eating and drinking. nonstop for 2 hours… Chef Chris is a very dedicated, passionate chef who continues to take joy in cooking and expressing his creativity in his food. He said that cooking is now a «hobby» than a profession. His friends can find him in the kitchen chopping up vegetables. When they ask why he’s back there, he simply says, «because I love it.» He owns several other restaurants in the No. OC area, «Pep’z Pizza» and a sports bar. He hopes to expand his restaurants down in the So. OC area soon. Chef Chris’s mother lives near by and she approves of her son’s food! :) So, on with the flavors of the night… Elite Tasting Menu was a 5-course meal… Course #1 — Hummus, Babaghanoush, Muhamara Course #2 — Sarma, Kibbeh, and Cheese Boregs Course #3 — Fatoosh Salad Course #4 — Chicken Tenderloin Kebob w/Veggie Skewer and Rice Course #5 — Baklava FREE wine, beer, and other drinks Hummus — a delicate mixture of garbanzo beans blended with sesame oil and lemon juice. *unlike store bought hummus, this one definitely tastes homemade :) Babaghanoush — roasted eggplant finished with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. Muhamara — a spicy walnut dip prepared with pepper paste, olive oil, spices, bread crumbs, and pomegranate molasses. *I could NOTSTOP eating this dip!!! By far the best dip on the table! It’s the red one in the middle of the trio and oh my gosh. it was slightly spicy, yet the walnut dip was great!!! I liked the pepper paste and it was just soo different, soo new and soo good! Kibbeh — a beef dumpling stuffed with seasoned ground beef, cracked wheat, onions and pine nuts. *Crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. The outer wrap was at least 1 cm thick. it tasted and reminded me somewhat like a corn dog. Not to offend the food, but it was actually tasty! I liked it. Sarma — grape leaves stuffed with rice, onions, pomegranate juice, and spices. *Interesting that this one is served cold, and has a tomato-based filling… very interesting. I liked the unique, new flavors in my mouth. Cheese Boreg — hand rolled mini wontons, fried with a delicious blend of cheese and spices. Fattoush — fresh green with chopped tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, radish tossed with a fragrant pomegranate olive oil, fresh mint, and toasted pita chips. * Really flavorful salad dressing. The pita chips(in place of croutons) was a nice touch! The salad was a good-sized portion. Not too big, not too small. Chicken Kebab — marinated chicken breast grilled on skewers. Veggie Skewers — onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms Buttered Rice with Silvered Almonds *The rice was sweet. I liked the buttery flavor. it gave a nice taste that complemented well with the chicken kebab and veggie skewers. Also, I think that being Asian i would not think to put nuts in my rice… however, in this case, and in this type of food, I enjoyed the two together. Baklava — dessert *Syrup is just right. It’s made with margarine, instead of butter like most places. Chef Chris removes the foamy layer of the margarine when it’s melted and only uses the juice of the margarine. It’s not heavy or dense. This baklava is on the lighter side, which was a satisfying ending to the 5-course meal. Overall, I had a great time. Met cool fellow Elites! Sat with Ryan, Shiv, Kevin, and Tim at the table. Watched Kevin down probably 2 bottles of win alone… Sorry had to say. but it was fun, great food, great drinks, and great company! Thanks for the night!

Best event! I decided to bring my girlfriend and we both had such a good time. This definitely was no sampling. It was a 5 course meal of goodness. Everything was just cooked perfectly and the chef was just so nice. He came around to greet everyone and we had a good time talking to him. Oh, and our table of guests was so pleasant to talk to. We got super chatty with the girls sitting in front of us. Good job on the seating Ryan! We all left stuffed, happy, and satisfied. Cheers to a perfect night!

This was a fun, very well organized event! Table seating was randomly determined by the Community Manager, Ryan C, by the number in your party.(You either came alone or brought your +1.) We were seated promptly and treated to a delicious full course meal! The food was fantastic! The highlights for me were the chicken tenderloin kabob with vegetable skewers and rice, the kabbeth and the yummy baklava. The taste and preparation to the dishes were second to none! The owner Chris and his wonderful staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. They were first to introduce themselves, came around each table to see how the guests were doing and took the time to explain in detail how the dishes were prepared. They had such a passion for good food and invited guests to share their thoughts about the dishes. Their proud mantra seem to be serving delicious traditional Mediterranean dishes using the finest ingredients and superior preparation methods. Being a first generation Elite Unilocaler and this being my first Elite event in over a year, last night was my first opportunity to meet Ryan C. and a number of new elite Unilocalers. I was impressed with the food, the staff, enjoyed the clean, intimate ambiance and thought there was a good turnout. YEE: Medii Kitchen Elite Tasting was a fun night, one of my favorites in some time. Kudos to Ryan C. on organizing a successful event!

Ryan is the best! He is a very wise dope dude for picking this place! The venue does not feel Greek or Mediterranean but its more of a homey sophisticated feel. The servers were all very sweet and attentive. Chris, the head chef, is very personable and full of passion. His drive is what will make this place a big success! Kebbe are to die for here!!! Soooo delicious!!! I will be coming back… you can count on that!!! Oh and it was very nice to meet some fellow Unilocalers… specifically Shane and Derek!!! And Dereks plus one… lol…Panda Express dude!!! The desserts here are… well…made for the gods!!! Thank you so much, loves!!!

Thank you to Ryan C and Medii Kitchen for providing us with this amazing event! Also, thank you to Thomas O for making me his plus one! Shout out to my fellow Unilocalers, Fia, Andrew, Thomas, Shanon, Cat, Phuoc, Shiv, Vanessa and others! Let’s see, the restaurant itself is awesome. I love the semi-open kitchen and the family oriented style of dining they have here. My only complaint is they need to fix the toilet seat(it doesn’t stay up –_-). However, let’s start with the food: Complimentary drinks– I had a new castle beer. What made them amazing is they weren’t stingy and only gave us a few limited drinks. Instead, the waiters were constantly refilling it for all of us! Appetizer– Pita chips with this vinaigrette like sauce. Kind of tangy. Very interesting. Hummus, muhamara, and the other sauce– Hands down one of the best hummus I’ve ever had! Very creamy, very rich and pungent. Goes very well with the pita bread. Fattoush salad– I’ve never had this before. A little bit too sour for me. Almost tasted like sauerkraut. However, the others at the table seemed to love it. Salad– You can really taste the mint and the pita chips adds a very unique texture to the salad. Love the red onions and grape tomatoes. Everything meshed very well and nothing overpowered the others. Main dish– White breast chicken kebab, with grilled veggies, served with rice and a garlic sauce– Hands down, the best garlic sauce I’ve ever had. I can still taste it as I am writing this review! XD. The chicken was a little bit dry for me; however, it’s fine as long as you eat it with the garlic sauce. The rice was very fluffy and I loved the peanuts and garlic in it! Baclava– Wow, just perfect. Not too sweet and not too overwhelming. Something have too much flavor can kill the dessert. However, they nail it perfectly here with the cinnamon sauce. Overall, standing ovation to the chef. I can tell that he truly takes pride in what he does here. Having a chef explain to you everything, really makes the experience that much better, I recommend he keeps it up and the customers will love it here. Thank you so much Unilocal OC. There’s no other place I rather be… than Unilocal OC!

I’ve only been to two of Ryan C’s events but so far I have to say he knows how to throw some legit stuff. Had I known that I’d be getting this buzzed I would’ve taken some pepcid beforehand bc I got pretty buzzed and pretty red. Pinky and I got seated at a table for 6 and thankfully Ashley H(Smashley when drunk) & Brian W got there the same time as Pinky and I so it wasn’t too awkward for us. Between Pinky & I, I’m the loud, outgoing one but I’m still super shy at social events like these unless I’ve had a couple of drinks. At our table we got to meet another non couple-couple and they ended up being pretty cool. We scored some free Unilocal socks as well as sunglasses in addition to the mints, keychains and chapstick which I hoarded into my giant bag. Don’t worry there was more than enough left for everyone else~ The owner & chef of Medii kitchen introduced himself, giving us a little 411 on his background. And I must say, not too shabby on the eyes ^.~ It was all you can drink wine & beer which was pretty damn awesome, I mean even if it was their house wine that I gulped all night I liked that they served some pretty decent wine for their house wine. Compared to other eateries that use the wine in the box or some other crap stuff which I can appreciate. ^^ So the thing to watch out for was the muhamurra(am I spelling it correctly? Oh well I’m still buzzed xD) and that was the shining star of the 3 dips. Even Pinky who is very fickle about the food he eats liked it. I’m pretty sure everyone else is going to write about the food, so I’ll just say the portions were awesome and I was stuffed. Service was top notch and our table was more than happy to leave a tip at the end of the night. The desserts in the display case looked so good that Pinky went over to browse. I enjoyed the baklava until I choked on it from laughing. I might still need the security of Ashley H to come to a seated event, but I can get used to it. It forces me to be more social than I’m comfortable with, but in a good way. Thanks for the awesome event Ryan! …And for seating Pinky & I at a 6 person table ;]
