Great experience. After 15 years my husband and I are renewing our vows. I don’t wear dresses, in fact-​the last time I was in one was our first wedding!!! So, I didn’t want to just order one from the Internet without trying a couple on, to get a good idea of what style would look best and what I would feel comfortable in. I walked in realizing I would probably be asked to make an appointment, however Erika Ohm the wonderful saleswoman started pulling dresses and explaining what cuts would do what for hips, chest, etc… I should also add that I’ve been enlisted for 21 years in the Air Force. I knew that Brides across America was going on, I just didn’t think I qualified. Because mine wasn’t an actual wedding but a recommitment ceremony. This is the program that donates a wedding dress to military brides. The second dress I tried on fit great! If my ceremony were tomorrow, I could wear the dress! I loved it-​it was the one. I asked what the damage was and Erika waved her hand thanked me for my service and told me the dress was mine!!! The owner Erica Anderson GAVE me a $ 1300 dress. These ladies are in the right business. It’s more important to them that you’re happy than their profits!!! $ 1300 is more than double what I wanted to spend on the dress for my event. I still can’t believe it, I feel like I stole it! If you’ve got a wedding or formal event coming up, do yourself a favor and make this your first stop!!! They’re more concerned with their customer’s happiness than making a buck! Love, love, love ‘em!!!

First let me say, I also went dress shopping in the lower 48 and wasn’t impressed. AND I also shopped around online and in town. I’m not a big shopper and I get overwhelmed easy. I went to the local chain of DB and was disgusted! At the chain bridal shop I felt extremely pressured to purchase a dress THAT DAY. I had already made it clear I was looking around before making a choice and that I WAS NOT going to purchase no matter what. The lady at the chain bridal shop was ok, but she really pressured me once I picked a few I liked telling me the sale was going to end and I should purchase one today, once I told her no way, she basically nudged me out.
Anyhow I knew ahead of time Andersons had a reputation for being a slight bit pricier… But I had also been in to Andersons several times with other friends who were brides and they were always completely happy with the service… and so begins my bridal adventure. ALSO at the chain shop I kept asking questions about what dresses they actually had in stock and the sales rep had no idea, she told me to look around and pick out the dresses I liked… all the dresses where white and in bags it was extremely difficult to find a style I liked as they were all sealed up and hard to see the full style. and I had an online dress thing through their website they seemed clueless!
First MAKE SURE TO MAKE an appointment!!! This if for everyone’s benefit. It’s a very small boutique and while they say you can walk in, a lot of these reviews are complaining about personal service, so make an appointment and you will get 1 on 1 treatment.
Second go online to their website and pick some of the styles you would like. Email them or call and they can do some foot work, I know they did for me! Saved me time and money, while the dress I LOVED was not in my price range, the sales lady picked several styles that were similar and in my range
Third!!! Remember to take your shoes off hahahaha. I didn’t know this and one of the older sales lady kind of got after me… which I didn’t understand but later when I was trying on my dresses I understood, the muck and water on the carpet gets on the dresses and your feet if someone has stepped into the dressing area, which gives you that icky feeling of «what did I step in» and then gets on the dress as you step out.
I cant say enough I give them 5 stars all the way. Even for brides on a small budget like me!!! they had a lot and gave me lots of attention and NO PRESSURE and also worked out a payment plan with me so that I can make small payments towards my dress all while they will hold it for me.
You might spend a little more on better quality and better service BUT you get what you pay for and in the case of Andersons bridal its TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Awful! This store makes me want to open my own boutique and give anchorage brides a place they can go and actually get the attention and help they need. They have a very small selection of nice dresses. I found one that I thought was perfect and waited 2 months for it. I got it and I had to have it altered. I went in 3 times for a fitting and she wouldn’t listen to me and absolutely ruined the dress. It looks awful. I don’t know anything about sewing but I know my dress should NOT have looked like that. I wasn’t happy and they pretty much just pushed me out the door. «Sleep on it». Needless to say, I’m getting another dress in CA and seriously considering opening my own place. This place is shameful! I understand anchorage has shitty customer service, but this is a wedding dress we are talking about! Not some 50 dollar dinner plate. I spent 1400 on the dress and when I wasn’t happy is was too bad so sad. Save your time buy online or if you leave the state buy in another state. Yes I’m all for supporting local, but I can’t support this place. Why can’t anything be nice in anchorage?!?

I had a decent experience here, the older woman who helped me was helping someone else during part of my appointment so she was not there the entire time. I had my cousin and friend help get me into the dresses. She would come around every once in awhile and make some comments and suggestions. She did pull dresses for me to try on based on what she thought would look good and would give suggestions on how it could be changed. Their dresses were way over my price range and they did not have the types I wanted for a destination wedding. Overall it was an okay experience. If you’re looking for more formal type wedding dress, this would be a place to try out.

Great customer service. Star helped me and was very helpful. She actually remembered me when I came back and which dresses I previously looked at. I have been all over town and they had the best unique selection of ball dresses. I have great odds of picking a dress here that no one else will have on. I would recommend Anderson’s over David’s any day. Defiantly will come here again for the next formal occasion.

I actually went to visit family in Oregon and decided since I was in Portland I would check out a wedding boutique downtown. WOW, the customer service was absolutely superb and the gowns were AMAZING! I found «the one» which they shipped to me for free once the designer finished it from scratch. Now… I decided to have my dress fitted at Andersons not only because I support local businesses but one of the owner’s was my math teacher in high school about a decade ago. Every single time I go, the same woman assists me, I forget her name every time but she is an older woman and has been working there for years. Whenever I would bring my dress in she would ask me where I bought it and who made it. My response was always the same. «I bought it while visiting my family in Portland at a boutique and the dress is made by Lozaro». Every single time she would quip at me «Yeah, you bought it for the name». I finally got tired of this and said, «ACTUALLY, I bought it because I love it. I know absolutely nothing about wedding dress designers». Previously I ignored her comments, but I just couldn’t stand it anymore that she acted so overbearing every single time I went in. I want it to be known though, the owners are great and I did previously work with Amanda there for business type things and she was so sweet and not overbearing but helpful as the other employees have been very sweet to me. I often watch the older woman interact with other people who come in for a dress or bridesmaid dress shopping and she always tries to push her thoughts and her likes on to other people. I would watch people politely shake their head that they didn’t like the style or color and therefore disagreed and more than once I watched her say «well I like it» and put it back. As if she is basically telling you every time that you have poor taste. She had worked with my sister a few years ago for her wedding, and my sister thought she was great. Interestingly enough my sister has went with me every time I would go to look at something. She was actually shocked with how I was treated. I firmly believe that even if someone brings in a gown from somewhere else that a customer should be treated respectfully and not be frowned upon. One last thing I will say is that if you do go here, hold your ground and stand by what you love. It is your day in the end. Not theirs.

The staff at Anderson’s was horrible. They messed up countless things with our tuxes. The alterations didn’t hold and no one was very helpful. After finally getting ahold of the owners 3 weeks after my wedding I voiced my frustrations and problems the owner called me a liar and backed up his staffs unacceptable behavior. The owners have very egos and don’t care if they get bad feed back. They went out of town during the busiest time and refused to let us get ahold of them when we had big problems two days before my wedding.

The staff was pushy, non-​attentive, and slow. They misplaced my dress belt for about a half-​hour (it was fully paid for months prior) and I had to sit in the dressing room until they found it. I do love my wedding dress but my experience of trying on dresses was not as fun as I had imagined because of their lack of service. The unfortunate part is we don’t have much of a selection in Alaska and I am not a David’s Bridal fan, so that was the only reason they were received my business. If you have the option to find your dress elsewhere, I would recommend it.

Stopped by Anderson’s Bride this afternoon and had pretty much the same experience as Ashley. Got a quick «hello» from a gentleman in the tuxedo area and then was pretty much ignored while I browsed. While they had a good selection of higher-​quality dresses, the customer service was definitely lacking. In the market for a reasonably-​priced bridesmaid dress, but could find nothing less than $ 140. In this day and age of online shopping, the niche for this type of store is the customer service. Without it, this place is sunk. It’s been around forever, but that is not enough to make me come back.

I am giving this store two stars because they had nice looking dresses. One star for customer service.
I stopped by Anderson’s last week to take a look at wedding dresses. I was hoping to try on a few, and get a feel for the kind of dress I want, but not ready to purchase anything that day. When I walked in, no one was there to greet me, so I started just looking through bridesmaid dresses. I did that for 5 – 10 minutes hoping someone would ask me if I needed help, or offer to show me dresses, or really just recognize me.
After ten minutes I looked through a couple of wedding dresses, and a consultant greeted me, but then went on helping other individuals. At that point I was starting to feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome — I had wanted to stop in and be excited about getting married, and instead I was feeling awkward and ignored.
No one noticed that I walked out — and I won’t be coming back. I had a much better experience about 20 minutes later at David’s Bridal.

Some pretty dresses but no organization. Bitchy saleswoman who act like girls. Plus the pushy, buy something vibe.

I thought I would write a positive review amongst the bad ones.
My experience with Anderson’s was fantastic. I was treated very kindly and even though I went back over 4 times to try on «the dress» before I made up my mind, Oma was very willing to help me each time. She even let us stay after closing to finish! My bridesmaids came in twice to look at dresses and each time we stayed for hours. We were never rushed, hassled, or «pushed» to buy anything.
The staff get to know you and really want you to have a special experience.
I know they are not cheap (but what is in the wedding world?), but the dresses are beautiful and quality material. The accessories were gorgeous. I ended up getting a beautiful veil and feather thingy for my hair as well.
We also got all of our tux rentals here and had no problems.

terrible service. Once I bought the dress they stopped caring about me and just tried to push me off. I came in for alterations a month before my wedding and was told it would be ready for pickup the day before my wedding. That was pushing it but I wasn’t worried. That Friday I stopped by the store and was told my dress was not ready could I come back the morning of my wedding. I simply refused as I had a lot of other stuff to do. They proceeded to ask if I could have a family member come. When I told them no I was promised it the day before my wedding the finally relented and the owner brought it to my hotel late that night.
When I put my dress on the next morning I learned they simply pressed the hem and did not stitch it so my hem did not stay up. All pics of my ceremony show that the hem was dragging on the ground.
When I called them about this a couple days later (once we returned from a quick weekend away) they told me I had to come in that day, I asked if I needed the dress and they said no just pictures. I showed up and they told me they needed the dress and to come back the next day.
I came back the next day with my dress and they said they didn’t have time and that I needed to come back. I proceeded to stand there and tell them they would help me today. After taking a look at the dress they declared that I had ripped out the hem on my own and owed me no refund on the alteration charges. I picked up my phone and in the middle of the store told my mother about the entire ordeal. They finally refunded me just so I wouldn’t talk about it in the store (I wasn’t yelling, was simply on my phone) and scare away the poor girls that were there shopping.

My brother and his fiancé ordered their flower girl dress at Anderson’s. They live in Washington, but they’re getting married up here so I was in charge of picking up the dress. They ordered it end of December and was told it would be ready for me to pick up in a month…
Sooo… come a month I call curious to see if it was in yet and I was told «oh give about 2 weeks.» Okay, that was no problem the wedding is in June and its only January. So about 2 ½ weeks later I call again and I get «it will be here in a week, actually… it might be here we have a lot of boxes we havent opened yet because our manager is pregnant!»… okay… so another 2 weeks later I call again and I’m told «uhh no, it takes three months from the order date.» So I’m told another two weeks or so…
Well now its April 17^th and still there is no dress after constant «next week next week.» So I go in in person and I am told they have the dress in… ITS JUST THE WRONG DRESS!!! they sent the bride version of the dress not the flower girl. Then I’m told THEY DISCONTINUED THE FLOWER GIRL DRESS! so now i have less than 2 months to find a new flower girl dress and get it shipped up here in time. The worse part, I feel is, we never got an apology until I went in person! it was always excuse excuse excuse. not their fault not their fault.

I used to drive by Anderson’s Bride and dream about prom dresses. They always had all the latest styles displayed in their window enticingly.
As I grew older, somehow I never managed to get my prom dress here (though my friend did and she looked gorgeous in her red gown!), but I made up for it for my wedding. Since I bought my dress in the Lower 48, I only needed to shop accessories with them. Their shoe collection is awful. They are all generic and bride-​y looking – avoid at all cost. Plus, they were incredibly uncomfortable.
I got my petticoat from them and they had all all the different levels of fluffiness to choose from. My big «thank you» to them is their great selection of bridesmaid dresses. I was concerned about finding a pretty dress that my sisters in AK could find that my sister in TX could also find. They had all the major brands and were prompt with the service. The customer service was great and very non-​obtrusive.
If you have something formal to attend, this is the place to be – especially if you’re in your teens to early thirties. I didn’t look at their wedding dresses, but I’m sure the helpful salespeople could order you anything your heart desired.
