Went camping here just last weekend.1st time camping. Had a great time. group of three families and had site g14−16. Very close to showers/bathroom & water supply. Not very crowed area. Not much privacy but that worked for us b/c we were in a group. Group rented a kayak paddle boat & rowboat. Enjoyed our time in the lake. Beach area was nice also. Concession stand by the beach area and a camp store by the camp site. Little pricey but if you left anything behind they have it. Definitely a must!!!

An early fishing trip yielded some excellent results, as we took the boat out onto the lake. The water was crystal clear, and reflected the morning sky like a sheet of glass. While I have yet to camp here, I have every intention to. For the fishing, view and serenity alone, I’ll be back.

nice state park that has camping and cabin rentals. has a nice lake in the middle of it that they rent rowboats, paddle boats and canoes. very popular place for picnics for the day. they have picnic tables by the water which is a first come, first serve so get there early to get a spot. have had 2 picnics there so far and have had fun each time.

First time here and can’t wait to go back!! Between the lake, manmade beach, great views, boat rentals and trails, we had a great but exhausting day. Can’t wait to go back though. We are considering renting one of their cottages for the next time. The only downside… there are only a couple garbage cans in the entire outdoor campground so be prepared for that.

I visited last summer and I meant to write a review. All I have to say is that the place is truly BEAUTIFUL, the pictures do no justice! there are plenty of picnic tables, and grills. Its really family friendly. lots of families with small kids. It is peaceful. It is worth the drive you wont be disappointed! the only draw back is that there are no garbage cans, you have to take your garbage with you.

i thoroughly enjoy coming here, whether with family, friends or even solo, its a beautiful place to catch some sun, swimming and boating. Ive been on the paddle boats with 3 other friends before. What a great experience… You’re not supposed to jump out of the paddle boat, but whats a quick dip when your scorched?!

I went on June 14th weekend. It was nice and quiet Thursday night then packed over the weekend. I could hear the guy next to me snoring all night. DONOT camp near the bathrooms. They are lit up like a runway at night and you will need an eye mask to sleep at night. The pull in tent locations are wooden decks. So you cannot stake your tent unless you bring a ton if extra cord or a hammer and nails. Bathrooms were small and primitive. No changing area out of the shower and only 1 hook outside the door.

Went here for the first time last weekend. it was late in the season(the last weekend the park was open for camping) so it wasn’t overcrowded. the beach was practically empty

The lake was huge, we didn’t even see half of it. We fished for a couple hours and didn’t catch anything, but it is a nice campground and I would go back again. If you let the Summer rush pass and go in the fall, there’s not that many people at all. The camp is well maintained, you don’t have to worry about bears, and each site has their own garbage cans. Some of the sites are small and tightly knit next to others with little privacy, but there are sites that are a little more secluded, although the bathroom may be a bit farther than you may like.

It’s an ok place to take the family. It’s a state park with a beach and it’s nice. My wife and kids like it there. They really dig it. On the other hand, I cannot swim so I chill on the beach. I tend to see things a little different though. There should be a dress code or something. I know it’s a beach and all but DAMN… people dress like they do not give a f*ck at all. It’s a family spot ya’ll…it aint Miami Beach. Every night, I’m sure there’s a lot of parents answering those«why the boobs were poppin out» questions. I know I’m far from Taye Diggs but guys, if you’re over 50& allergic to P90X, please wear a t-shirt. I mean damn man… If you can get past that, it’s family fun.

Great state park and beach on the lake. The water is clean with small fish in it. The beach is clean because you must«carry in, carry out» any garbage so bring plastic bags with you. Sometimes they supply them but they can run out. Parking is $ 8.00 per car or $ 65 for the season.(2011) There is a concession stand with food, snacks, drinks and beer, or bring your own food. There are two beaches — go toward rhe right as you enter and there are no steps to the beach, easier for handicaps. There are picnic areas, boats to rent, volleyball and great views of the mountains and lake.

To make a long story short, the camping area is very cramped and my site(G4 I think) was rocky and on an incline about 45 degrees, which makes it impossible to set up tents. I could barely find places to park my car in my lot because of how cramped the sites were. The sites have absolutely no wooded privacy; everything is out in the open. If you are looking for a camping experience in the woods, this is not the place for you. When I asked to change sites I was only offered what they call«Platform sites» which are basically ugly wooden decks you set up your tent on that you need rope to hold them down(which I did not have). I had to pick up my stuff and split. This place is a joke. Stay away

Awesome getaway from the city! Booked on for Labor Day weekend and paid $ 145 per night(2-night minimum), for a cabin with 4 bedrooms that sleeps up to 8 people, fire place, kitchen with fridge and stove. It also has a toilet, and cold running water. Showers are external and shared with other cabins, but clean enough in camping standards(obviously bring flip flops!). The lake is 2 hours away from NYC by car, and fairly easy to get to. Make sure you bring a map or print your directions because cell phone reception on the way there is a bit choppy. Once you’re there, cell phones work pretty well surprisingly! The cabin itself was fairly clean… just a bit dusty and smelled like chicken shit, but after pouring a couple cans of Clorox and Lysol around the place was fresh as new! The beach was a bit crowded with lots of kids, but again it was Labor Day Weekend, so I knew what I was getting into. The only thing I didn’t like is that they only have 2 life guards at the beach, and we weren’t able to take advantage of the whole beach, which is quite long. In any case, this is a great trip to get away from the city, and chill with your friends or family!
